Another great video, the level of detail you go to is fantastic . I’ve been using the Windy App to gauge winds aloft at different FLs. I’m curious to know if these aviation weather Apps that depict wind direction and speed are a good substitute for the formal weather forecast maps that you reviewed ? Ie could it be used in the real world ?
You are welcome. The international winds aloft will be super helpful to many. I never used them a lot, but went on a quest to find them for this video and they were right in front of my face the whole time. Hate it when that happens ;)
Welcome. You can also get winds aloft inside FS2020 but it's not as accurate as these. I am pretty sure FS2020 gets them from the same sources as everyone else since they match most of the time.
I feel like I am studying for my Private Pilot Certificate 47 years later watching your videos 🤣🛫 good review for many me included! Years ago this wind speed code made since due to the limited ability to send a lot data over teletype . In today’s world there is no excuse for this coding. It is ancestor worship from NOAA and the National Weather Service. Good job😁🛫
@@TheFalconJetDriver Yes they are and now being able to use the same tools in the airplane with high speed internet is amazing. It is getting to the point that weather radar on an iPad inside the airplane is more accurate than the weather radar in the airplane... not quite, but it is getting there.
Another excellent video! Thank you.
You are welcome. Now you can try a flight from point A to B that coincides with the strongest tailwinds just to see how fast you can go.

Great information again!!!
Now you know how to go faster!
Amazing , awesome as usual. Thank you so much

Like others already said, lots of good info!
Brilliant, thanks.

Believe it or not, it was review for me too. I look at the graphical winds aloft chart and the rest comes from fltplan.com when I fly.
@@thecorporatepilotdad Yep I did the same when I flew last, the tools we have today are great!
