My top 5 are
10th doctor’s theme (2008-2010)
11th doctor’s theme (2013)
50th anniversary special theme (2013)
12th doctor’s theme (2014-2017)
14th doctor’s theme (Ncuti getwa: 2023-present)
The new 2023 one is nice but the 11th Doctor’s theme is still my favourite for its absolutely fire percussive track
@@richarddickens2438 which version? 2010 or 2013 version?
@@m.c.ufan1019 I personally love the 2013 theme, mainly because of the string and the bassline.
@@jacx2.0 nice.
the piano from the movie version is back
YESSS PERFECT
I thought the same!! Love this theme, it's like the best of all those that came before it mashed into one
Indeed.....only played more effectively,this time! 👍
As it should be because the movie theme is the best.
i love the added piano stroke at 0:21
it's subtle but it adds so much
Same
Also at 0:57 ish. Amazing
When I first heard it was pretty overwhelming but as time goes it becomes so much better. It was amazing to finally hear it in an episode and it flowed so well in the opening scenes. I also appreciate them putting the full theme at the end as well
Do you mean underwhelming?
@@matheusflores619 I meant it as it was alot going on that found it bit too much.
@@AuroraButterflyx Oh ok
The 60th orchestra butchered all of the songs they played. I was amazed by how good this sounded when played properly
This is the second time they brought back an old logo design. The first time was in the 1996 movie where they used the 3rd Doctor's logo design.
the diamond logo is the most used Doctor Who logo ever, thanks to Tom Baker's era. to a lot of people it just *is* the logo
It does have slight differences from the 1974 logo
I believe this is actually the 3rd time it's happened.
1st was when the 3rd Doctor Design was used and recolored in the Movie, 2nd was when the Original 1963 Intro and Logo were used in The Day Of The Doctor, and 3rd is the current logo that is being used with a few tweaks to make it a little different than when it was first used.
I love this. It hits all the right spots in my brain, especially the woodwind flourishes and the piano
Honestly the new theme, intro. & logo are some of the best they’ve had
We have 39 years until doctor who is 100 in 2063
Love the orchestral version. Can’t get my head around the weird breathing effect that drowns the music on the TV version. Hope they sort it out.
Christmas special kinda fixed that over powering percussion instrument
ok but why does this sound so fire?
Murray gold is a chef cook
Because it's a remix of the doctor who theme
It's a new flavor of awesomeness
But then again, I like Everything about every version of doctor who because i'm a fan boy so
Objectively the best theme ever. It incorporates the best of all the ones before
I have just finished all of the new specials on Disney +. I can't wait for May to actually see the new season. Love the new theme and intro. I first saw Dr Who in 1985 and haven't been able to get enough.
Really like the mix here where it has a playful yet adventurous tone like the first 11th Doctor theme
i don't like how short the intro is, but i absolutely predicted david's theme coming back
I think it's a perspective problem, because looking at the other intros, it's actually just 3 to 5 seconds shorter than most of the NuWho openings
I wonder why the official version is so short but I hope BBC will put an extended longer version for the 3rd & last 60th anniversary special episode intro or the 15th doctor's intro
@@limdennis813 I think TV intros in the UK have to be 30 seconds or less now, by law.
It only appears shorter because the doubled intro pushes back the "main" part of the theme closer to the end where it cuts off more abruptly than usual.
The middle eight!
It has the last three notes!
0:56 This part is my favorite because of not only the instruments itself but also the vocals in the backround.
There are two things I always fear every time a new arrangement of the Doctor Who theme comes out and they are
1. It won’t be as good as before
2. They leave out the middle eight
Thankfully this one does neither
god the chanting is actually really growing on me
I keep hearing "exterminate exterminate" panning as whispered chants no way it's really "exterminate" no way LOL I'm a deaf old man
me too
The more I hear it, the more I start to think it sounds like some sort of machine chugging along, makes me think of the Tardis
@@aleatoriac7356 The popular theory I've been seeing is that it's saying "Doctor Who"
I dont know why but does anyone else hear the beat going a bit like a ticking clock?
Sounds like the toy solider robots from the Mind Robber to me, maybe something to do with the Toymaker?
Yea I do mate
i absolutely love the dr who theme all of em', but when i heard the series 5 version for the first time i knew that the series 4 version was gonna stay my favorite.... and then i heard this version... this version is by far the best sound and visual wise. i have nothing else to say about it, words can never and will never do this song justice. if you paused the song first thing to read the comments listen to it.
I just love this one
The theme music sounds like the classic doctor who theme music(mostly 6th-8th doctor's) mixed with modern doctor who theme music(mostly 9th & 10th doctor's)
If you want to get technical it sounds like all of the themes
They're the same Song with the same baseline just Regenerated if you will
Sutekh whispers in the intro
crazy theory
YESSS THE PIANO FROM THE MOVIE THEME
The best doctor: 9th. Christopher Eccleston.
I prefer the piano in the 2nd half (or closing version) to the strings. Piano chords match perfectly but strings just feels a little distracting
Prefer this hugely to its like version
And it has a middle eight, which I think have been vanishing recently
Class
Love it!!!!
Can you do a 1 hour version of this
Sure! Stay tuned!
@@jacx2.0 WHEN ARE U DOING 1 hour of this
I love it
I love the theme song all my hair on my arm stand up all the time I hear the theme song
Hoping this comes to Spotify at some point
same here
The only thing I’m not keen on is the breathing sounds 😂
Where are the breathing sounds?
@@DalekGarf they start at 0:01 they’re not actually breathing sounds, just a weird airy sound
@@NotAgnor to me they sound like shakers
It's the daleks iconic phrase
No, it's the sounds of the drums(no pun intended)
Is the chanting saying Doctor Who?
I feel like no one else can hear the original ‘63 audio in this song
we......can?
@@FilmTvReviews-fe2gg where, exactly?
I would agree, usually you can hear the original bassline in it
@@MorganHaino97yeah the baseline. I’ve not seen anyone else who can hear it. (Apart from you two) I don’t think anyone hears the guitar either
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Not a fan of the breathing noises but that's literally all I have to complain about, great theme
I hope they release it soon.

This theme has a lot of Mavity to it
(I bet that in a few years people will be confused about why we talked about Mavity)
The chanting(?) is WAAAYYYY to breathy imo
It reminds me of that noise Rolf Harris used to make.
@@wayneharding6594god I forgot about him, now I can't unhear it
Pretty sure it's Inuit throat singing. It's actually pretty cool if you ask me.
It's rather bombastic again. I just prefer experimental electronica.
Is it just me or does the...shakers?..or people breathing?? Just sound like the tooth paste AI covers??
What do you mean?
@@RomeroDisease oh sorry not tooth paste I meant brushing. Its like the tooth brush ai cover
Sounds like Inuit throat singing to me.
Is this on iTunes yet
sorry no, but murray gold will hopefully upload it soon
He is yet to release the soundtrack for series 10 after nearly 7 years. We've a long time to wait before this is officially released@@jacx2.0 🤣🤣😂
I dont know if its just me but I'm a bit underwhelmed at the theme. It's incredible similar to the 10th doctors one but more orchestral. It's like they've just changed it from rocky to orchestral. I wanted something new.
Series 11-13 is the best new who theme for me.
Hmm...its not bad, but it definitely kinda sound like 'generic Doctor Who' if that makes sense lol
Actually kinda prefer the Season 11-13 theme honestly
quality is.. quite low.. not very good
Agreed, I uploaded this as soon as possible when it came out, problem is that it's a copy from a copy from a copy, etc. And that's why the quality is so low. But, I do have the file in higher quality, I'm gonna upload it for ya
Hate the clattiky clack base line. Its awful.
I think I know what you're talking about. But that's about the baseline the baseline Is the
Dun dun dun dun dun dun
Worst theme yet. Way too noisy and poorly mixed 🤮
only one word.......TERRIBLE!!!!!..........is this is the theme....god knows what the episodes are going to be like.......sorry Russell T....i think youd better join the moffatt crowd
Bad.

Taste
how tho
@JamesJohns-ep2kn huh
don't like it, too much orchestra like the original RTD era, makes the show feel too upper middleclass
Because of course music is so class oriented. 🤣
what the fuck are you even talking about man
How in the name of Christ can music be "upper middleclass"?
I'll create a working class theme by banging on pipes. Coming on my channel for christmas.
I don't agree that this is "upper middleclass" someone is holding a shaker from Junior School. but I do agree that music can have a class to it and feel elitist to some.
