"They feed mostly on Yellow Jackets, Mosquitos, Stinkbugs, ..." and I find no reason to hate them!
Me too.!!!! I welcome them with open arms.
Awesome, I'm ok with them now
We need yellow jackets to a degree but stink bugs and mosquitos can get lost
just a phobia for me idk why but I just get goosebumps gang
Dude, I love these guys! They keep pesky bugs in control.
Title: “Giant, venomous spider”...
Narrator: “Experts say they are no real threat to humans or animals...” 🤷🏻♀️
It says venemous not venomous
@@EpiCreatures-jh2qx Nice catch. Title wholly wrong in spelling and mostly wrong in substance.
welcome to crappy editors trying to grab your attention with drama headlines!!
I know, it’s just a garden spider, looks just like the ones in my backyard except for color patterns, and equally as harmless.
If they eat yellowjackets and wasps and stinkbugs they can stick around.

@Trump4prez-ho9cb I think they moved fast on taking care of them because they would destroy Americas crops and therefore Americas capitalism. If it just hurt the citizens, then we could easily tell if the news was accurate vs lies. Half news is really just an ad for a product or charity (tax break) or some other money thing but sometimes things like this are good to know
@Yasmin: just taking a guess, but hornets launch from nests.
An aircraft carrier could abstractly be thought of as a nest for aircraft.
@Trump4prez-ho9cb I live in the PNW and I drove through a swarm about 3 years ago in a rural area. One landed on my car and it would not leave. They're freaky looking and big so it was super fun getting it off the car.
I like what they bring to the table; however, I'm 1000% convinced one is going to parachute onto my face VERY SOON
It's basically just like an orb weaver (writing spider) that we already have.
Dear NBC News,
I am writing to express my concern about your recent reporting on Joro spiders, which I believe contains inaccurate information. In your video, you claim that these spiders "don't pose any threat to humans or animals." However, this is simply not true, and I urge you to correct this misinformation.
The key issue here is that some people can have an allergic reaction to the venom of Joro spiders, which is a very serious and potentially life-threatening condition. This type of reaction is known as a "venom allergic reaction." Individuals who are allergic to spider venom can experience symptoms like swelling, difficulty breathing, and even anaphylactic shock if bitten. In severe cases, this can lead to hospitalization or even death.
I can speak from personal experience on this matter, as I nearly ended up in the hospital due to a Joro spider bite when I was younger. This is not an isolated incident - these spiders have been present in America for much longer than a "few years ago" as your report suggests. In fact, I was bitten by one of these spiders back in the late 1990s.
It is irresponsible for your news agency to make blanket statements claiming these spiders are not dangerous, when the reality is that they can pose a serious threat to those with venom allergies. I urge you to thoroughly research this issue and correct your reporting to accurately reflect the risks associated with Joro spiders, especially for individuals like myself who are vulnerable to venom-related reactions.
Responsible journalism requires due diligence and a commitment to presenting the facts, even if they contradict a preferred narrative. I hope you will take this feedback seriously and make the necessary corrections to your coverage. The health and safety of your viewers depend on it.
This is exactly why we need the dislike button sorry to hear about your experience too
Soooo, you decide to make a comment on their video which they probably won't even notice instead of writing them an email?
Well this is my own personal nightmare come true, giant flying spiders
u forgot venomous
I believe they're not deadly. They're likely part of an orb weaver family. Which are not deadly spiders to humans. In fact, there's a video of Coyote put his head in a container while allowing those spiders crawling all over his head.... They didn't bite but likely his face and his head itches when they crawl all over him.
Venomous
pull youself together Ron Weasley
Most wild animals are more afraid of you than you are of them.
These spiders do not have bites that are medically significant to humans. Journalists are utterly insufferable.
Exactly. They are venomous in the same way ALL spiders are venomous and only the tiny babies might do the wind dispersal thing (as many other spiders do). They are beautiful, beneficial spiders... Must be a slow news day. 🙄
Ah good, not the only one to recognize how over the top exaggerated the story is.
They literally said that in the story
Great. So go ahead and let it crawl all over you
Thank you!!!, fear mongering all the way around…
They are beautiful. I have never had any trouble with them in Japan…..
Except in yokai myths or ninjas mimic them.
I thought so too. Very pretty!
Just wait until Australias spiders make it to the US
Nah, that’s okay. You can keep ‘em.
Not unless they're black widow and brown widows and the infamous funnel web spider@@LisaMarieFord
We have the giant yellow orb spiders here and they look very much like these. Great to have around the house. Only problem is they put webs up in general walking spots. So early morning trips to the rubbish bin and you walk thru their webs and all of a sudden you're an expert in self-karate!
@@scottysmediaproductionshappened to me when walking behind the shed lol, came INCHES from my face going directly into the spider, i was lucky i saw glare of the web at the last second.
Flamethrower sales would skyrocket.
I don't like them.
"they eat yellowjackets"

I'd prefer yellowjackets.. 😂
@@CanadianForPutin2.0 Really? Getting swarmed by them isn't an experience I'd want to repeat.
If that's your preference though, then that's fine. You really must not like spiders then, huh?
@@randomnessproductions4212 I dont like spiders, but dont mind most of them either. Ones that look like that I would mind. 😂
When I was a roofer, I put my hand in a eavstroph that contained a nest of yellowjackets. Was not fun, but it was surely better than if a venomous spider was in there instead.
@@CanadianForPutin2.0 Dang. I guess I've just been lucky enough to not have had any encounters with more dangerous spiders. I'm only saying that the joro spiders don't scare me that much. There's certainly other kinds of spiders that do.
Growing up in the 90s we use to see these type of Spiders all the time. They were colorful garden spiders. I don't see them anymore. I remember thinking they were venomous. There are actually a few things from my childhood I don't see anymore...Bullfrogs, Skunks, colorful garden spiders etc
Do you mean Yellow garden spiders which are native to most of North America? They have many names. They’re also freakily large and jumpy. I remember they used to love the bushes and shrubs that people get which need trimmed every year… hence why I don’t have any of those😂. I’d take zigzag spiders over invading flying spiders, though. I would imagine this invasive species might be detrimental to the native ones; not just because of mistaken identity.
@@LisaMarieFord Yeah you described it perfectly. I don't see them anymore. They were huge lol.
@@thegamingchef3304Oh yeah, especially if you didn’t notice until you were up close! 😳 I saw one last year in my rabbit’s outdoor cage. Nope, nope, nope… evicted.
There's a majority of environmental elements I have watched disappear from my community. The butterflies are sort of showing back up here and there, plus there's a few spiders around. But it's quite sterile
@@FordRangerClassics Yup, even lightning bugs are disappearing.
Big enough to eat a hobbit.
Oh no, no no no no no! We don't want no stinkin flying spider! Nope we don't. Dangerous? Yes! If one of those things flew at me or landed on me, I'd have a heart attack.
The big adults can't fly like that, only smaller ones can, and truth be told almost all spider species can parachute while they're still small.
@@TheBachBthe adults can fly. They create a “parachute” like web and float through the air.
@@TheBachB I have non-venomous giant orb weavers where we live in the PNW. One of mine from last fall left a clutch and the babies were so cute - slept in a pile on my fence together after hatching - but they flew away the next day just like in Charlotte's Web. My daughter cried. I'm hoping one or two stayed to eat the summer bugs. I have adorable and friendly jumping spiders, but they're not very helpful with mosquitos and flies.
@@kespo5358 Yeah, the fuzzy black jumping spiders are very cute, and I've spotted them hanging out on the living room windows by the couch, watching us! Like we're mutually curious about each other. But the giant orb weavers... I know they're harmless to humans and beneficial to gardeners, but they freak me out so bad. They're so big, it's like they're left over from the days of the dinosaurs or something.

I mean the word venomous is enough to cause panic..!!
But to say their harmless and the bites aren't bad is kinda of a contradiction..
And oooh yeah if you see one it's ok to leave it alone...
Now you see why people don't take the news seriously at times..
all you need is fire. I've seen it in star trek
Not really.
They are venomous, but the venom isn't strong enough to be dangerous to us besides irritation, so it technically is true.
A contradiction would be saying it's venomous but then saying it isn't at all.
Giant venomous flying spiders is just what I needed to get my mind off inflation.

I mean, all spiders are venomous.
Giant docile, venomous to small things spider.
If they want to capture yellow jackets and pests like the lantern fly, that's a good thing.
They won't bite unless you are actively trying to grab them, but if you see one and calmly, allow it to crawl onto your hand they will just sit there for a bit til they want to get back down but i've had nothing but good experiences with them i relocated one to where my patio set was it made a web from one side of my porch to the other and a night it would catch all the bugs flying to my porch light and when we grilled it go to enjoy the flies we attracted
Im NOT an Arachnoligist or anything even related but what I do know as a semi grownup man, 😊, Im scared shirt💩less😊 of spiders. Now lemme tell ya why, A recluse bit me when I was just a small kid maybe 8 years old, Was unlocking the house door, as soon as I wrapped my hand around the doorknob to open it ,I felt an immediate sting and then numbness. I never seen anything. Within an hour my bitten hand had swelled twice its normal size. If we had NOT got immediate help it cold have have been really bad. NO you mean the threat from The Mist
it's a Golden Orb spider very common in Australia, make a bit sick with a bite that's it.
It’s America. They are scared of everything!
We have golden orbs here in Texas. They're in the same family and look a lot alike, but they're two different spiders.
Maybe they are different. I cherished the years of golden orbs in my garden, even posted a video of my garden golden orb. No mosquitoes or yellow jackets while those beauties were around 😍
bro even kids under 12 in my hometown are just playing with that thing
Flying spiders?
They fly now
Spider man sort of can
the babies use their web like a hang glider
Looks a lot like the Golden Orb Weaver we have here in Arkansas. I love the fact that they eat mosquitos!!
Most spiders are harmless to humans. This one seems to fit the bill.
That old saying of "when pigs fly" is about to be changed to "when spiders fly." 😱
Was this an April Fools joke? The headline and reporting seemed like such clickbait. They used the old spelling of venomous. They even said very late in the video that the spiders they're reporting on aren't even that dangerous. They eat lanternflies, yellowjackets, stinkbugs, and mosquitos, so why does the title of the video sound like they've evolved to hurt you? The "flying, like they do on Charlotte's Web," is something that I thought all baby spiders do. Please do better with reporting.
1) You misspelled venomous twice. 2) All spiders are venomous.
What did you guys say giant and venomous if they’re not harmful? Even if they bite you it only provokes a rash or itchiness. Y’all gotta do better with your thumbnail.
Those things are almost big enough to put a saddle on and ride!
Looks identical to the ones we've been getting on our banana plants since the 1970's here in Florida!

I swear I saw this same spider in my yard last summer. I think they've been here for a while.
Those things have been around forever in Hinesville Georgia. Nothing like walking into one of their webs at night. They have those and Banana spiders in Hinesville. Probably came over in all the military equipment. Also metatranian geckos. Very cool.
Yah, where gonna need to check that Spiders Visa.
I have a plan to go on research program there...But now i have to think it again😂😂
Beautiful spiders
It eats yellow jackets I’m already a fan
I had this spider that make the web with the shiny "ladder" on it in my garden last year
Looks like a regular Orb spider to me. Same coloring and everything. Not sure if they parachute around like these guys though.
Also, aren't all spiders venomous? Most aren't dangerous though... not enough venom to harm a human.
we have these near the place I go to the beach and we've always just called them banana spiders because we always find them in the banana bushes. they are horrifying but they don't bother you
I had one sitting outside my kitchen window one day. Big as my hand. I left her alone and she would eat bugs, which were plentiful. Maintenance crew came by one day and I heard a loud knock on my window from inside my bedroom and came out. She and her web were gone.
This creature could be an answer to our prayers. Any spider that eats stink bugs, mosquitoes, yellow jackets, and lantern flies is welcome to build webs in my yard. Just don't come into my house, m'kay?
Listen…. If they eat wasps and mosquitos then I’m in. Fly, brave little spider! Fly!
I seen this spider almost 20 years ago, I caught it on my aunt porch in put it into the fish tank with the piranhas and they would come near it lol
Here's a war everybody could get behind. 😂
I had two of those in Florida last year I believe it's the one.
Now there are two words that shouldn't be paired next to each other - Flying and Venomous....
Here in Savannah ga I’ve seen a bunch of them in a massive interconnecting web that spanned halfway up an oak tree from a bush. That’s the only way I learned about them because I didn’t know we had spiders that did that so I had to look them uo by their pattern and colors
You mean golden orb spiders are crazy venomous... 😂😂😂. Good job guys 👏
I live on the east coast and haven't seen a single one. They have been saying this for 2 years. Daddy long leggers are venomous too. If you are worried about this you need help.
Joro also Jorogumo spider woman from Japanese Mythology
I live where they started out in Georgia and they are getting less and less here, i barely see them now 2 years ago they were everywhere
Spiders are awesome!!
I've seen them in Delaware, and this was about 5 years ago.
They are a new workers to clean mosquitoes and other flying bugs
Lived with these things in Japan, they are chill and won’t mess with you. Click bait title, nearly all spiders are venomous, not all are venomous to humans.
Most Orb spiders when small fly or what we call Ballooning, that's why in your backyard you just dont see just a bunch of spiders in 1 place..but here and there and on the other side of your yard.. Ballooning is only done when they are small.. or they shoot a fish net type web that goes for 5-10ft to grab on another bush and relocate . but bottom line is would you rather see Yellow Jackets or Mosquitos etc flying towards you or rather see this spider on your plant just chilling out to catch the bugs that fly towards you.. Which would you choose??
How were a large amount of Spiders unintentionally brought here
Sold me at "eats mosquitos"
Oh you eat mosquitos spider, carry on
I have these in my backyard about three on my tomatoe garden they are good bug eaters they bite about like a bee sting it hurts but nothing serious one of them got my hand when I picking tomatoes
They're pretty and not specifically aggressive
We survived umpteen Sharknados, we certainly can handle a dinky little spider flapping around!
All spiders are venomous. Most spiders can kite on their gossamer. Many creatures have migrated out of their original range via human cargo-shipping. So this is a nothing story!
It's over for us. We had a good run.
Lol

I caught a yellowjacket yesterday in a glassjar to release it because it flew inside my home. I was shaking uncontrollably because of my fear of them. These spiders are more than welcome to eat yellowjackets from my part. I know they have their own part in the circle of life and all, but i just can’t stand them. 🐝🙅♀️

They constantly lied to themselves and others people's that this spiders not harmful, unless they meet a really big one, like in those movies.
