OMG A Charles 1st Shilling 1638 and A bronze age axe head with the mould found metal detecting

- This video is full of OMG finds, a perfect Bronze age axe head with its mould was found and then I found my all time bucket lister Charles 1st hammered shilling dated 1636. This along with a couple of silver denarii and other hammered coins. This was a great day metal detecting with the Hyndburn and Ribble Valley group, and a medieval spindle whorl included from a Ministry of detect dig. Metal detecting with the Garrett Vortex VX9.

Fabulous Charles first Shilling and Spindle Whorl as well!. Wonderful finds Dawn. 9:19 is a .22 rim fire cartridge.
I love how you say you’re still learning, even though you’re what, 8(?) years in now? It makes my little heart smile, so it does (by the way, I know in this instance half the time you were talking about the new detector). Indeed, I’d consider you quite the authority on metal detecting on the whole, but we never, EVER stop learning and people that realise that do a lot better than those who think that there’s nothing more for them to learn… Anyway, sorry for the ramble, lovely video as ever flower.

Whoa! The axe head with the mold is a significant find. That’s a Bronze Age settlement. There’s more to find there.

Excellent find Dawn, well done, your Shilling is a Charles I Tower mint with mint mark Tun 1636-8 (Group E, type 4.3, Sharp F3/1, S2769)

Actually that looks like a Charles II. Still a great find. May be worth about 600 pounds.

They find stuff because they put the effort in, staying all day and keeping their coils low and slow unlike the majority who leave at dinner and swing their detectors like a pendulum, then moan that they don’t find anything.

How do we know the vortex found it? She never shows the machine locate a single target. Her buddy with a Minelab may have well found it.

Do you know which mint the shilling is from ? I have one given to me by a friend ( hammy's very scarce in Canada) from the London mint and interestingly it says Charles king of England , Scotland , France and Ireland 🙂

Just like all the other fanboy channels. SHOW THE DANG MACHINE. even the screen is off on all but one clip. If it was a good machine people, we’d be treated to video after video of it hitting pounded sites pulling non ferrous targets. That’s what good machines do. Not sit next to an already dug hole with the power off while someone pulls a find with a pinpointer. I’m sure they pay you pretty good though to wear the hat and shirt. Instead of selling snake oil off the back of a once reputable name they should give the machine to actual testers so it will be improved and competitive. What a smoke show.
