Lovely hammereds the unusual one is a commonwealth penny not many come compared with others especially in such nice condition congratulations best I’ve done is 3 hammered and a piece of silver in a day you absolutely smashed it out of the park there

@ thank you yeah your right there I had a Edward I penny and a James I sixpence and mint Elizabeth I threepence I was saying to a friend at the time when I had found the penny and lizzy that I won’t find anymore I’ve only ever found two at a dig and she said when your luck is in it’s in and that I might find more I laughed and said no I’m sure I won’t the very next target she said I’m going to watch you dig that one and out pops the sixpence she was laughing at my face changing to a look of shock lol she said she wished she was recording it cause my reaction was brilliant metal detecting is the best hobby there’s plenty of days where nothing comes up that’s good but it’s days like that like you had that make it all worth while. You did incredible I doubt I will ever find that many in a day
I’m guessing you already know but the double shield coin is a “commonwealth coin”. It was the money used when they dissolved the monarchy and we had no monarch. Lovely little find.

Nice haul of hammies there bud. Loving the shoe buckle. I'm a Minelab user, trusty old Nox 800. Had a Elizabeth 1st sixpence (1562) recently. Always a great feeling when they pop out of the clod. All the best and HH.
Cracking day my one day best is 5 get ready for the gold hammered👍 The thing you thought may be a drawer handle is a double loop harness fitting 15-1800 often mistaken as sword hangers.

Regarding your comment about a possible small hoard.. is that possible given that a lot of the coins are from different monarchs? In your opinion what do you think may have been going on there for there to be so many coins? I haven’t been able to get back out on that particular field since due to being cropped and still is currently!
@@CrosbyCollects usually a hoard is coins from around the same time period - regardless of monarchs. So for example, if a hoard was buried today it might consist of Charles III coins as well as Elizabeth II as both are still legal currency. Back in the day coins were still legal tender long after the king or queen had died as many of them didn’t reign for very long so they couldn’t change the whole currency system every time a king or queen died. Usually before you can even start thinking among the lines of a hoard you’d have to pull up a lot more coins. It’s normally around the 20 mark before the FLO starts thinking of it as a possible hoard. So you’ve a little way to go yet. There’s always the possibility of “shoddy trade” that’s when they used to dog knackered old clothing into the soil as fertiliser and often didn’t check pockets for coins - it explains why we find so many buttons. It could be a purse spill but again that wouldn’t explain the range of time periods or that just could have been a very busy little field throughout the ages. I’ve got a permission where I have found pre-Roman coins and everything in between right up to about 50 years ago. Some fields are just like that. You’re really lucky to have a field like that. We won’t really know for sure until you can get back on it and have another good go once it’s been turned over again. Can’t wait to see your video when you can get back out there. Maybe try and get hold of some old maps and see what used to be there. It might have been an old market place or some piece of land where trading took place.
