    How refreshing it is to hear someone speak the simple, straight-forward standards of the scriptures. This is so much in contrast to many ministers and teachers who try to find a loophole to either justify their own sin or appease their audience.

    This 2 part sermon has been one of the most blessed messages I have heard in a very very long time. No, it's not an easy one to listen to but it certainly is very much needed on many levels and in many areas. Thank YOU ABBA FATHER for never letting YOUR Bride go. Thank you brethren for sharing this blessing with the flock. JESUS bless and fortify us, each and every one. Peace.

    This nust be heard in churches. I said the same thing in a church and they heard what they wanted to hear. I think they pastors are afraid to loose favour with members who have been remmaried and who intended to. However only the sheep will hear the voice of the master and will respond to His voice. Many pastors and ministers will have to answer to God for that.

    David Pawson is preaching the true Word of God! This is 100% correct exactly what my church and what the Holy Spirit has taught me. Matthew was written for Jews! Matthew 19 exception applies to the Jewish betrothal custom. This can be confirmed with Joseph and Mary's situation. There is no such thing as divorce today! If a Christian can divorce and remarry, then what is so great about your testimony? There is only one option for a Christian couple and that is to forgive only.

    A remarriage after a divorce isn't really a marriage. That's the only reason it can be called adultery by Jesus. It might be called marriage by civil law, but not by God. I live where homosexuals can marry legally by civil law, but not in God's eyes. Most churches are teaching what Moses and the Pharisees taught, but Jesus said that was because of their hard-hearted wickedness.(Mark10:5) A lot of today's church goers and pastors have a hardened heart toward what Jesus taught.

  • @MsAnna47

    Bottom line is that people MUST vet whoever it is they are looking to marry BEFORE and WELL before they ever actually marry someone. Understand that any flaw you see in them beforehand will be multiplied 1000-fold after the marriage where you find yourself now alone with this person at home on a day-in/day-out basis. Many men and many women have NO self-control and NO discernment and live in a chronic state of denial both before and after marriage and therein lies the problem with so many failed marriages. Women need to stop being so desperate to get married and men need to do the same. Singleness is hands-down the BEST way to live. If you use the excuse that you just can't be without a mate, a spouse, you'd better make sure you don't have an idol before your face so that God is not forced to answer you according to that idol that is between you and God, if you even ask God in the first place about marrying somebody. You want a real unencumbered, uncompromised answer from the Lord about you and the marriage you want to make.

    I was a single man never married before. I married a divorced woman that was married for 10 years. I got married in the catholic church. I divorced my wife because the bible says im in a adulterous marriage.
    Am I allowed to remarry because her former husband is still alive?
    Was my marriage legal in Gods eye's because her former husband is still alive?

      This is a very good question that I wish someone would have responded to my brother in Christ. I unfortunately do not know the answer. However I am keeping you in my prayers. I would reccomend doing whatever you must to seek counsel from a true follower of Christ regarding this matter. I will do the same.

    @AssemblyMinistries1 You've obviously never heard any of his other sermons where he admittedly points out many times, "Many of you will probably disagree with me here, but hear me out." I may not agree with Mr. Pawson 100% of the time, but I'm definitely not one to bash him on the internet. He is one of the most contextually consistent teachers I have come across. Yes, a few of his ideas seem to come out of nowhere, but they usually stand out as being odd and he often notes it as being so

    The reason Paul said it is good not to marry is because he was ominously aware of the incredible stresses and tribulations that were about to come upon the world of that time. From the time Jesus rose from the dead until the year 115 a.d. you had 1.1 million perish in the Jerusalem siege, numerous devastating earthquakes, the total destruction of the city of Antioch by earthquake (260,000 deaths), multiple burnings of the city of Rome, severe famines, plagues, and civil wars. I could go on.

    Well, having thought on this, it is clear such cases are not valid marriages from the beginning, for other commands of the Lord are violated by these unions. You cannot divorce from an invalid marriage, these unions would be annulled.

    That's not what I'm saying, that's what Jesus is saying. I know it's not an easy word for many people who have been wronged in many marriages but that's the nature of a covenant before God. That's the difference between a covenant and a contract.

    Matthew 19:9
    NIV is wrong by the way it comes from the Greek when it should be translated from Hebrew. The KJV is more reliable in the English language.
    King James Version (KJV)
    9And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

    Repentance means to repent and go away and sin no more. Should this couple get a divorce to be set free? Because Everytime they have sex thereafter they will be committing adultery.

    I meant I don't disagree with your first comment. I'm saying, did they have biblical grounds for divorce. Interesting answers you gave.
    If they divorced and remarried others and their spouses died, the original spouses cannot take each other back. If they divorced each other and didn't remarry anyone else, then remarry each other again, then they could get back together.

    • @ronpolson6981
      @ronpolson6981 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Simply put, this is legalistic. Not your comment but others. Thre are two types, unbiblical and biblical. Adultery, abuse, and abandonment. People do not apply proper Hermenuetics and thus they do not understand the full context of what they are talking about.

    I like David's views on this topic, but I would be itching to ask on these "situations" A man and woman find out after being married they're brother and sister of the same two parents, or they find out they're mother and son or a man finds out later his wife was born a man.

    There is a real problem here. Always beware of someone that starts out saying "the greek word here is..." At 1:34-1:38 or so he says,
    "now you'll have to take my word for it that the word found here is a very important the word in Greek is deditai but the important thing for you is that the its a marriage bond word it's not used of slaves bond and that will come up later in a very important way...."
    There is no word "deditai/dedatai" (sp) in this verse or any other. The Greek word in this Romans passage is "Deo" Strongs 1210 look it up if you don't believe me.
    The big problem is I will not trust what he says, I will trust God's word. And that this is subtile deception to make people believe in a line of doctrine he (Mr. Pawson) believes in. Ask your self how can you trust him? Ask yourself do you trust Pawson or the Bible?

    • @carnation_cat
      @carnation_cat 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That was quite an assertion and would make Pawson a bold-faced liar, so I had to check it out. Five minutes of Googling took me here:
      biblehub.com/interlinear/romans/7-2.htm
      biblehub.com/greek/dedetai_1210.htm
      I disagree with Pawson on some points of doctrine (like the end times), but I have seen nothing to disagree with regarding divorce & remarriage. I think he is very gracious and Biblical in his approach.
