this might be one of the most coolest poses you’ve drawn !! 😮💨 it says a lot about your skills to be able to pull off your artstyle with another program with different brushes, amazing video as always kuro !!!
I've been using PaintTool SAI as my primary art program since around 2010 (not a typo, Two Thousand Ten!) and I can say for certain that, even with the limitations it has, it has always been superior than programs like Photoshop to me. Even way back then I was already searching for a more "painterly" style and PS was never able to give me that, not as easily as other art programs like SAI, Corel Painter and so on. SAI and SAI2 are light and flexible and anything is possible in it, as long as you want it! That being said, Kafka looks beautiful in your style, and the pose you chose and rendering are amazing! 💛
Hey there! I just wanted to let you know how deeply your art has impacted me. I know things may feel hard right now, but please don’t forget that your creativity has a way of touching people and bringing inspiration, even on the tough days. I absolutely loved your subtitled videos - I don't know why but I find them so comforting and motivating. I always replay them while I’m drawing, and they really help me stay focused and inspired. Please take your time, and please give yourself the space to heal. I truly hope in the future, when I’m in a better place financially, I’ll be able to buy some of your prints because your work deserves to be celebrated and shared. Please keep going, I truly believe in you and can’t wait to see where your art takes you next! ❤
Oh wow..what a lovely comment. I am actually flattered by your kind words Kanaalee. I remember that I mentioned the pressure of not having a voice over to offer but I am glad to hear that the style of the videos is still inspiring and helpful in some way. Thanks a lot for your kind words. I really appreciate them 🙇♂️
@@kurohshiro Honestly even without a voiceover, your video seems way more calming and better in my opinion. I'm not sure how to completely describe it, but after watching a lot of videos where there is a lot of talking and stuff for my brain to process, watching yours kind of gives me a break and helps me calm down 😅 Like right now, after watching your video I just have new motivation to draw (in the middle of class lol)
The only artist I know who uses Sai is Ishida Sui the author of Tokyo Ghoul. That guy is surprisingly not talked about as much for how good he is, at least to me. The software really seems to fit the way his pieces are drawn with his use of textures.
there's a new version of sai (still in beta) but it's already superior to ptSAI 1 lol. it's just ptSAI 2, u can use the same license on both products too. it adds a lot of stuff, the only three things im missing is liquify, gradient maps and level adjustment. but there's a lot of new tools and brushes, and it's still really lightweight. i've worked in SAI since i found out about it some 10+ years ago and love it dearly (especially the new version)
I was so happy when I saw you've posted a video and omg Kafka looks so gorgeous here. I always love watching your drawing process, it always makes me feel motivated enough to draw. It's truly beautiful
Ahh that's wonderful to hear! I had so much fun experiencing a familiar program again and drawing one of my favourite characters. Hopefully it's fun and i am wishing you all the best for your art! Hope you have fun as well 😌
Wait.. how could I never think of using two views with simultaneously flipped canvases before??? I swear I learn something new EVERY TIME you upload a video. Thank you so much, Kuro❤
SAI is the GOAT and still is one of the best softwares out there. I started my art journey using it before moving to CSP, and I would honestly recommend sai for all the new artists out there, thanks to how easy and simple the UI and how good the functionality of the software is.
That's true! It was actually my second drawing program after suffering from photoshop (and gimp omg) and it was such a game changer. I think this influenced my drawing style enormously.
Please make more paint tool sai art videos! i use sai myself (funny how sai is my name hehe) and its hard to find active paint tool sai users anymore. I love ur art btw!
Thank you! Yeah I've noticed this as well when I looked for people. Hyanna Natsu was the big name out there but somehow sai really got forgotten TvT I hope to use it more!
I love SAI for being simpler and lighter. Still use it till this day. I've tried CSP, while it made everything more efficient, I just can't customize it to suits my drawing style/the brush pressure and all (Skill issue on my part😂). I wish SAI's lasso could do more tho. Thank you for doing a tutorial using SAI. It's very rare among the sea of tutorial using CSP.
That's true! I like the simplicity of Sai a lot. Sure there are a lot of things missing but there are workarounds. Csp is really complex when it comes to all the settings and stuff but I just use 20 percent of its potential to achieve the majority of my needs :)
I did not know you could do any of that in Paint Tool Sai. I learn something new about each program I watch you use! XD This artwork was beautiful, and you did a great job with it! I always want to draw after I watch your videos. :D
it's amazing! Could you make a tutorial how you draw a materials? The way u color clothes, boots, gold and silver accessories, belts... Its all look so glowy and it has reflection(?) this is so beautiful I admire you!!!!!
Thank you for your always wonderful work! I fell in love with your picture at first sight and my motivation to draw increased because I wanted to be able to draw like you! We will continue to support you!
That looks amazing! I can't do everything you did coz I'm only using infinite painter in mobile to draw. But watching all the videos you made helps me a lot...
I am happy to hear! I think there exist workarounds in every program but some make it just easier than others. Even though I heard good things about infinite painter :)
5:25 I use Sai2 and i have this weird issue with the magic tool where it basically doesn't perfectly cover all pixels inside the border area, there will always be some dead pixels in the border between the inside selected by magic tool area and the border. I usually get around this by using the increase selection area by X pixels option and manually going over it with a big brush quickly.
That's a common thing with drawing programs I think. It's because of the anti aliasing. I noticed this with photoshop as well. But increasing the selection seams like a good work around even though there should be a more easier way.
Ah yes, light mode😔😔 although paint tool sai! I haven’t heard of that app in a while. I don’t think the app affects the quality of art, awesome painting as per usual! Kafka looks great, the rendering is beautiful ( ´▽` )ノ I find the expression a bit uncharacteristic of her but the pose is really cool, spider webs :D I think you did great despite the limitations of paint tool sai, I don’t think I would notice there’s anything different, minus the sparkles in the hair (。・ω・。) The winter music really fits the upcoming holiday lol
