When people check it someone is married it is NOT because they think “maybe I have a chance” or “is she a problem” or any things Fran listed. It’s simply done because when we find out whom a person married (any gender) we think we learn more about them if we see whom they chose to marry because we see what traits and features they liked in a person. Alternatively it helps people understand motivations and reactions of people.
You are very clever, interesting, attractive, goofy, creative and lots of other good stuff, so I think that’s maybe why people want to know more about you.
as a woman who has googled "fran blanche married", its because I look up to you as sort of a big sister, not seeing as many women of our kind make it to your age, and want to hold out hope someday a man might see value in marrying me. god bless, you're a beacon of hope to a lot of us.
People are just naturally curious about things that usually don't matter when it comes to being a celebrity of any kind. It is kind of surprising that you are so surprised by this. IMDB pages on actors and Google really just drives this harder. In your case, it is more from people who respect you and your work and how they can relate to you.
Fran, we like you they way are. It is so refreshing to see an accomplished person who can teach others. Your are self taught and have a gift that allows you to teach others. Many females in IT feel like men talk down to them like they can not understand technical matters. where you are someone many IT males would love to have a great conversation with Hats off to you . Be yourself we all affirm you and your mission live long and prosper
Fran, your self-deprecating sense of humour is not something typical in people from the USA (in my experience) and it is great differentiating feature of your videos. More typical of British, Canadian and Australian people. Love it. PS: My top 10 (excluding specific projects of yours I've googled in the past) includes "fran blanche youtube", "fran blanche patreon" and "fran blanche instagram". Worthy searches, IMHO.
Your accounts on college are very similar to mine. In 1979 after completing 3 semesters of liberal arts education thinking I wanted to be a lawyer I dropped out and enlisted in the US Navy, became and Electronics Technician and found I loved it. That later resulted in my falling into IT and telecom and I've been working in that field for 35 years.
@@lordmuntague yes she has quite a collection. At some point though it becomes a ball and chain as Fran I think already understands. Thanks for sharing it all with us Fran😜😂

So in answer to the question “How old Fran?” you could say “Old Fran Fine!”
Hi Fran, I just discovered your channel and subscribed, because you present interesting things I did not know. Your comments about education echo mine. As a child and in to adulthood I have never thought why education is the way it is, that to learn what I want to learn I have to endure things I know I will never use or have need for. As a child this used to worry me until I read A Study in Scarlet and the passage about Holmes skills and Holmes comment when Watson was shocked to learn that his friend knew nothing of the universe to which Holmes replied, what use is that to him? He likened his mind to an attic and should only be filled with that which he needs to know, the clutter of the rest just gets in the way of clear thought. That really hit home to me!
Fran..., The next time someone asks your age you tell them that you're old enough to know better and young enough not to care.... Keep doing what you do.. We enjoy the videos and please stay safe

College, yeah its not for everyone. My first attempt, well it started with my parents getting an acrimonious divorce, moving across the nation unexpectedly and my mom dropping dead... so, I failed at my first attempt at college. I ended up joining the Navy and retiring and getting the next career, then laid off... and, went back to college because everyone said the same thing, I was going no place without a degree. So I tried again and ...turns out a bit of age helps some of us. I not only gained a BA in Psychology, but an MS in Counseling in under 42 months with honors in both.
Well the only Question / Answer that surprised me was your name. I had assumed that "Fran" was short for Frances. Because I think Fran Blanche sounds better than "Frances Blanche".
7:10 I totally agree with you on the education part. It's the same for me. And for me these "holes" are sometimes actually pretty challenging to deal with. It can really decrease self esteem from time to time. Especially if you want to do something completely new or earn money with something you are "not credited" for. And it's in parts people not recognising ones capabilities and one not getting enough courage to get / keep going... How did you deal with these kinds of hurtles?
On that front, at least as far as ICT was concerned, I had to eventually admit that I was going to have to knuckle under and get a formal qualification to fill in the gaps and give me a bit of paper to show that I'd done so. Even though very little of what got filled in I've ever needed to use in anger since... and I've learned a whole load of other useful and trasferrable skills that don't even really have any kind of formal certification. Like I'm not aware of any such thing for AudioVisual teching. Not even 100% sure if there's one for sound engineering (beyond the pretty basic, barely high school level one I've always kicked myself for not following through with the application for, 20 years ago), but I bet if there is the prevalence of it amongst professional engs is kinda low.
5:54 I took two years of trade school. My older cousin has 4 years of college and is an electrical engineer. . I asked her one time, "Why take college and learn all these unrelated courses, like history?" She said "Because, they make you more well rounded" I'm not convinced. Also, I've been an electronic tech since 1990. I know more things in certain areas of electronics than a lot of electronic engineers. The real thing that counts is your hard work in life and your willingness to learn new things.
It's fun to compare the Wikipedia article about Frantone Electronics now, and before this video was published. Someone has expanded it quite a lot after your video...
You inspired me to see what Google actually turned up for me. I last did so in the early 2010s when a young singer was the first many pages of results. Now there's an actress as well. I'm happy being anonymous like that, far better than the name I used to have which was very unique.
Welcome to the wonderful world of what is known as para social relationships, a while back you talked about what you called "death by google", and google stalkers.
True, you can't write your own Wikipedia page about yourself, it will get rejected as appearing to be an autobiography (as mind did). But, you can post a "user page" in Wikipedia that you can write yourself, it won't come up in Google searches but it can be found within Wikipedia searches using "user:" if I recall.
i've looked up fran's age and it was to see if we're similar age (which we are). i was interested if she grew up in a similar time ? music, politics, entertainment, etc....
I 100% agree with you on the education, I think it’s a waste of time, and if one is not interested in it, all that information is just going to go right over there heads.
When you say your name, pause between the Fran and the Blanche. The way you say it, even when you slow down, is Franblanche. So, of course it takes several times hearing it for people to wrap their head around it. There is a fancy Latin term for people who have difficulty separating sounds into words and mistake what those words are. For example: "Olive the other reindeer" (who is Olive?) versus "All of the other reindeer".
'I'm 83 years old." And that's why you can't create your own Wikipedia page! What a great way to quarantine, geeking out with Fran, Techmoan, Technology Connections, and Mehdi at ElectroBOOM!
I have nothing against anybody who wants to educate themselves, That said, I too lacked the patience after a short time in college. I wanted to do. I wanted to experience. I hate to say that getting a college degree has little to do with intelligence, but it is true. If you have the time, and the finances, okay. But you still need the discipline and tenacity. I had ability. My employers knew it. I often had fellow employees say I was taken advantage of. But it is terrible to work with engineers, with degrees, some Masters, that were all theory and no application. I hated to deal with them when I had an obvious workable solution, and it was discounted because i lacked a degree. I found some customers equally as arrogant. Argh!
I just found your TH-cam and I absolutely love your life. LOL People like to know about celebrities, whether you are a TH-camr with 118K subs or some Emmy-winning actress. 83 years old?! OUTSTANDING! I was off by three decades. Here I am thinking you look like you're in your early-fifties and gonna shock us with some late-sixties revelation, but NO! I guess that goes to show that, when you spend your life doing what you love, you will age more gracefully - despite all the stress you've faced over the years! BRAVO!
83. LOL! You're such a goof. Been following you since Brooklyn. I went North and you went West. Sigh. If you were nearer we'd be freinds and I'd teach you some of that fundemental stuff to make you a really scary engineer. We did meet once at a hamfest/E-fleamarket. Be careful on that bike in the city please.

Well the only Question / Answer that surprised me was your name. I had assumed that "Fran" was short for Frances. Because I think Fran Blanche sounds better than "Frances Blanche".
Nobody expects Fran Blanche! Thank you for this one!
You are refreshingly unique and "real". Thank you!

I took two years of trade school.
My older cousin has 4 years of college and is an electrical engineer. .
I asked her one time, "Why take college and learn all these unrelated courses, like history?"
She said "Because, they make you more well rounded"
I'm not convinced.
Fran must have found the fountain of youth...Looking real good for 83 years old!
Keep up the good work Fran.
Lots of gullible people, in here.
"Empire of Crap" was the name of my band in college.
People may want to know your birthday so they have something in common with you.
Or to look up her zodiac sign.
i've looked up fran's age and it was to see if we're similar age (which we are). i was interested if she grew up in a similar time ? music, politics, entertainment, etc....

Exactly what I was about to say.
I 100% agree with you on the education, I think it’s a waste of time, and if one is not interested in it, all that information is just going to go right over there heads.
"Empire of crap" sounds like a goth band
Or a line from a curiously slightly more explicit version of "Hurt"
I was thinking it would make a good t-shirt.
Empire of Crap = Fran Blanch
Empire of Dirt = AvE
Empire of Junk = Fred Sanford
Empire of Garbage = ?
Saw my fav Fran Tarkenton’s name on your return list. You’re both in good company.
Maybe people want to send you a gift when you turn 86 !?
@@jkobain Did I hear wrongly?
When you say your name, pause between the Fran and the Blanche. The way you say it, even when you slow down, is Franblanche. So, of course it takes several times hearing it for people to wrap their head around it. There is a fancy Latin term for people who have difficulty separating sounds into words and mistake what those words are. For example: "Olive the other reindeer" (who is Olive?) versus "All of the other reindeer".
I don’t know about googling those 10 questions.. I would google.. Where can I get a FranLab Tee shirt!! Truth
Argh!
I so agree with you about education. My skills came the same way!!
Learning to learn, one of the most useful skills ! :-)
I just found your TH-cam and I absolutely love your life. In my head I thought you were some famous engineer who worked for nasa... but I absolutely love that you dropped out of college because I dropped out of college twice... and it’s good to know I’m not the only one!! You are fucking awesome! 🤍🤍🤍 lots of love from Minnesota!! I am 28yo. 🤘 rock on 🤘
"it was a minor concussion", gold at 7:36 :D
I only have a Fortress of Squalitude, not enough crap to qualify as an empire. Lost a couple of expedition teams in the box room last year though, and on Monday the loft spontaneously developed sentience.
I just discovered your channel and I think you are awesome and your way of talking to all of us is very honest and comfortable. When you explain stuff and give your own opinions about other topics is very nice. So... SUBSCRIBE!
I wonder if most people Google you because searching for you on Wikipedia redirects to the Frantone Electronics entry, which is VERY sparse. And at 12:27 you basically make my point.
BRAVO!
"Empire of Crap!!!"... that made me laugh so hard...
That is the best, by far, description of you, by you, that I have ever listened to ever. Totally brilliant! Love it! john R
Tell em that you are too high maintenance for marriage! Nobody's business! Keep putting the great info out there, it's informative, entertaining and fun!
"Empire of Crap" Love it. I can so relate.
Quit being negative Fran. Take the compliments! You are interesting, attractive and very intelligent!!!
"Yeah, Fran Blanche, from the Pixies..." XDDDDD
"It's edu-CA-tional!" 🎶
