In my opinion, the interludes are the best-written parts of this book

Three stars from me too. And i agree that you could easily cut 400 pages. It’s so disappointing because of how much potential the books have

⭐⭐⭐ Only three stars? You seemed to enjoy so much of this book 📚

Seth would like to make the correction that Towers seems closer to Warhammer 40k than Magic The Gathering.

I'm not sure how I feel about the book at the moment. I think I'll need to think about it for a while and then re read it. I also like hearing these other perspectives and reviews that go over things I might have missed.

Great honest takes. Think you were both more fair than some of the other reviews I have seen

I like how you guys recorded your thoughts on each section as you read. Very cool. I've seen a few people complain that the book could have been edited down a bit. It seems a little weird to me to complain about the length of the 5th book in a planned 10 book series. Any book can be edited down. The whole reason I like epic fantasy is because it includes a lot of the things like world building and little character moments other books would leave out. I really like the universe and always want to learn more about it so I enjoyed all the lore stuff. WaT added more to the lore than any of the other books. I agree the Gav fake out was a little contrived. I think think it would have been cooler to leave Navani, Gav and maybe even Shallan trapped in the spiritual realm. Then you wouldn't need a fake Gav. Navani and Shallan both are basically trapped somewhere at the end of the book anyways.

So intresting. A lot of what you are saying i am enjoying. I love seeing so many POVs, stormlight is so big and i love almost every character. The interludes are so cool and i want more from every single character in the inteludes. Plus knowing odium had one in every section had me looking forward to ending days. To me Sandersons prose is so not concise he needs this many words, if not more because he did some telling not showing. So to me stormlight is just the big over bloated series where every book has mostly the same negatives. For good or worse were at book 5 and i feel like book 5 was status quo.

Agreed, this book is bloated, feels both too short and too long at the same time. This book is easily the worst out of the 5 I'm gonna be honest.

I seem to be somewhere between your opinions. I'm fine with listening to the lore, but I hate when it then has no relevance whatsoever to the plot. And yes, Adolin steals the show from everyone in this book.

The fact that Kaladin in this book gets so many goodbye scenes and we didn't get a scene of Navani embracing Jasnah when she thought Jasnah dead is saying something. Not yet sure what, but it's something.

Jasnah doesn't believe in hugs. They aren't logical.
