The grandma in the second case has it backwards. If he's RH - and she's RH+ the baby will always be RH + because she's carrying. However if he's RH- And he's RH+ then the baby can be and likely be RH+ and it's the mom who needs to get a shot to prevent her from getting sick and from her body rejecting the fetus because it sees it as a poison. I know it's a bit confusing but you don't get a shot when pregnant by a RH- person, your baby will be RH+ if you are and can still be if you aren't as long as the father is
