That projection at the start makes no sense. Bama & Texas are both in the SEC, top 4 have to be four different conferences…
The expectation every season? To some, sure. Should it be the standard now that the bar has been lowered? Of course.

Other teams get punished for losing in their conference game but Notre Dame gets rewarded for not playing in one.... awesome
But on the other end, they can never get a bye. 2017 Bama also never even played in a conference title and got in playoff. Many different scenarios can happen especially with 12 team now.

Twice. AND the National Championship game in 2012. So 3 times the last 11 years.
They need to have a minimum away game requirement for eligibility into the CFP. They only play 3 away games…
I just saw that. I don't think that's right.
They play three away games at neutral sites. They are considered away games.
One of the “neutral” games is against GT in Atlanta, which makes no sense but is practically an away game.
3 of the other games are neutral field.
