Hi everyone, Thank you all for the incredibly kind and positive comments on our Long way South Series, we truly appreciate all the support from around the world! At the very end of the series we want to make a video about how we planned the journey, and what our final take is on such an endeavour. In this video we’d like to answer the many questions we’ve gotten so far. If you have anything in specific you’d like us to talk about, please do not hesitate to share the questions below. We’ll do our best to answer as much as possible in the final video. Love, Rosita and Maurits
That’s the huge turnoff with pilots that know better about light sport aircraft, they have very poor penetration performance in turbulence, especially on landing. You really notice this going from light sport or Cessna 172 into a 182. It’s like going from a paper airplane and then stepping up to a 747, rock solid in what would have blown a light sport all over the place. You never want to be in a light sport again after flying a Cessna 182.
@@tropicthndr meanwhile I fly a Tecnam P92 that's half the weight of a 182 lol. That will feel insane when I progress far enough in my career to make the switch.
Watched a few of your episodes and adventures and you 2 seriously live your life and seem to enjoy every minute of your adventures and experiences along the way I've wanted to fly as long as I can remember and had probably been my number 1 on my bucket list but life work and family commitments have stopped me from pursuing this dream Watching your videos is igniting that dream Keep having fun, loving what you do and sharing your experiences with us all coz it inspires us to follow our dreams and realizing there is more to life than behind a desk, laptop or on a couch LIVE LIFE
Awesome vlog bambi and the weather was fantastic a part from a little wind.did you do a no flaps landing.nothing our bambi can not deal with. You are awesome. Take care and I will see you on the next one philip. 👍🇬🇧🎅🍀🤘
Men I love this plane by looking behaviour. I can't wait until some company will introduce this plane to MSFS so I can do the same flights you do in this plane. Please keep safely going.
The fact you where willing to go around shows your ability and decision making! Awesome effort! Watching this just after going flying my self! Love the videos!
All that fodder in flight including those humungous apples gave you a higher wing loading which was a help on landing! Great piloting skill helped. Glad it all turned out well. Regards, Jim in NI UK
I'm happy the landing you went around that tells me you know what you are doing. I was on a small jet with 40 to 50 mph cross winds up front next to the pilot and it was one I never want to do that again. Have Great Christmas a Great New Year. Thanks from Florida.
My eyes were on your landing. You landed in gusty wind which has opened the door for all aviators. Best flying skills and best partners, GOD bless you both and upload more videos 😎
Great job Bambi and Mattis! There’s always a discussion in aviation as to how to get young people interested in flying. You both are the best advertisers for nurturing interest in a new generation of pilots. Keep it up! Have fun and fly safe.
That crosswind was wild! But you made an absolutely beautiful landing in such extreme conditions. Bambi, you couldn't have done it better. When you visit Kenya I highly recommend that you stop at the Nanyuki Airstrip where Tropic Air Kenya is based. They do some really exciting flying especially with their helicopters.
That crosswind was hardcore ... 12:27 Your face says it all! This video is so beautiful, you guys are such a great team and Rosita you are so f'n funny ... you live the life that I am dreaming of. Good luck for the entire trip and may 2023 be another wonderful year for you. ♥🛩
Holy ****!That gusty landing was crazy 🤯 Even your eyes were big after that touchdown.Thankfully you guys arrived safely.Lovely place too, that port kinda reminds me of harbour in Mossel Bay,South Africa with its restaurants.Great video once again you two 😎👍
I like how the controller enunciated his words. It really made him understandable, and that's a huge plus when flying overseas if you're not used to a heavy accent. I was landing in Rota, Spain some years ago, and I couldn't understand a single word the controller said. That was a bit unnerving since I also had all of my electronics fail just prior to entering the pattern. Fun times! Well, like my flight instructor (and best friend) told me...any landing you can walk away from is a good one. :-) Fly safe!!
Having enjoyed the blog about this leg, I was really looking forward to seeing the video. As alway, another fun, entertaining and informative video. You guys ROCK!!!
I came to view this video to only see the "old country" as my Papou used to call it. Being 100% Greek American, I have only been to Greece once and that was on business teaching a group of ex-Olympic pilots how to fly the 757 in Crete. But, I got to say, what a cool airplane. I cannot believe how these GA airplanes have morphed are configured with high tech avionics. Back in the day (I am 68) all you had was round dials and NDB needles. I was impressed with your having a plan and briefing it for overwater and your decision to Go-Around is so valid. You don't like it, you are not stable, get out of there. I used to fight crosswinds in the Short 330/360 which was like flying a big barn door. The 747 is much easier. Cool videos, I am going to watch more, loved the islands...
Living the dream, excellent video. What a fantastic way to see the world. Adventure of a lifetime! That is a nice plane too. It also brings home the point about how small our planet really is that we can tootle around vast distances in these little machines. Wishing you both happiness, clear skies and butter landings!
Absolutely *****y brilliant your ability to make this entertaining, interesting and informative is so so good. Whoever edits the footage is doing an incredible job also …. I’m now hooked on this adventure thank you and well done !!!!!

How do you keep the wing go pro powered?
I hope you tasted good food and raki in Sitia, beautiful place.
That landing had me on the edge of my seat. Great job landing, Bambi.
My chair I watched the video from had clench marks in it, also 🙂
That was so fun to watch!

Well done, I remember my first landing in Athens, severe x wind. So enjoying your videos, glad I found them, wish it had been sooner.
Congratulations, the wind conditions were horrible and the plane was small! Good work
Just catching up on your trip.....the two of you are so blessed to have the skills and opportunity to make such a journey together!!!
Your eyes before touch down told everything you need to know about this landing. Good job.
Holy cow, this was the mother of all landings, respect!🙏
Haha thank you!
Good safety measures in place . Good luck . South Africa , we are awaiting your safe arrival.🇿🇦
Well, They landed safely a couple of weeks ago already, if you watched it on the Sling Aircraft channel...
Rosita´s eyes during the touch down! They were telling us the whole story.
🤣 haha yep had to keep that in the video. Says more than a 1000 words!!

I wish other TH-cam adventurers carried out such thorough Risk Assessments. Being so well prepared will pay off one day.
You absolutely ACED the landing ! Love going along on your Adventures with you ! 😊
