That’s looks great. I’ve got a Rhodium plated 6S and it’s beautiful, mirror polish and an ice blue reflection completely different to just polished steel, it’ll be with me for life as the 6S is my GOAT razor
Thnx Greg.I chose the 6c because of chrome has better glide & the chrome is seriously plated don’t believe it will ever chip. Better price, thnx anyway 👍👍
Good to see you Greg been a while hope all is well your way loving the Banter as always can’t beat the 6s Razor this one definitely looks the bees knees for sure wether I pick it up or not will see what happens watch this space all the best to you! 😁🙌🍺
Great to see you again! I bought the blue one last year and sadly... It's chipping in the cap. I suspect the glue/adhesive on some of the blades I have is responsible for this as I treat my razors with great care.
@@GregTardif Absolutely usable, only a minor esthetic inconvenience. I also have the T2 and the 6 c. I totally agree with you that the 6s or 6c are absolutely pillars of the industry. Have a great day!
$250? Why not just send a 6S to Backroads Gold for plating? A proper plating job will apply a basecoat of copper, and then 24K gold on top of that. With proper care this gold plating will last a lifetime. Personally, I would far prefer to have the parts of the baseplates and the top cap that touch the face receive a high polish, and skip the plating.
Hi Greg, nice to see another video from you. I’m brand new to safety razor shaving. Had my first shave with a GEM razor the other day and looking forward to more shaves. After shaving what do you do to set the razor aside? I took the blade out, rinsed everything, but don’t know how dry the razor and the blade need to be to keep it till my next shave.
Oh, I usually just leave it out and let it dry and I don’t fiddle with the blade or anything. Some people will loosen the razor a bit. But it shouldn’t matter if the razor is dry or wet the next time you shave. I usually rinse it before shaving any wau
So you're not dead, eh, my boy Greg. Still alive? Still kicking? That is certainly good to hear. Even a hungry rabbit can't eat 24 orange veggies at a single sitting so I guess that should be enough. See you in another 18 months I guess. Keep well and safe in the coming winter.
Nice laconic style, Greg. I wonder what Rockwell will think of this video… Did the gold damage your chisel? As for the 6S: it shaves well, but is too heavy for me. I get it that some guys like ‘em chunky, though. Cheers. 👍🪒
I don't understand why someone will buy this. Because if you drop it, you will lose some of the gold and therefore decrease its value. And also if a thief enters your home, this will be a top target. So, you have to be very careful with it.
You’re back!! Woo hoo! We’ve missed you.
Welcome back Greg, sound like Rockwell got their Gold plating right.
Great to see you back! Amazing video as always!
He’s back!

I couldn’t help but to laugh because I kept hearing “blow me” for the link below. 😂
That’s why I chuckled too lol

Hiiii
I was wondering where you were. Glad to finally see another video. 🙂
🙋♂️👍
It's for a collector. Or for a person who absolutely loves the razor. Now I can have the 6S plated by Matt. It'll probably hold up pretty good.
Hi Greg!!! Good to see and hear you again! I always enjoy your zany humor.
Take care, Lindsay 🪒💈

Gregory....its great to see you again!
great greg.
will it blend?

BackRoads no longer plates stainless.

Greg, come back. We miss you.
Man, what camera are you making a video?
@@nezamedimov I use a Fuji xh2s and shoot in flog2. Does it look ok?
@@GregTardif Looks like a Hollywood movie, very cool job!
@@nezamedimov 🥰
@@GregTardif Can you recommend anything regarding razors? I'm now shaving mühle r89, I plan to take Edwin Jagger 3one6. What do you say?
@nezamedimov I haven’t tried a mühle before but I do like the 3one6. Just check it out, people have reported quality control issues
You tried Aylsworth Apex or Karve Overlander?
Yes 😂
Not the apex
I bought the gold a little while ago. This will be my second Rockwell 6s. 😂
Cool! Rockwell mentioned this being their first gold plated 6s and just announced it yesterday. Did you get the rose gold 6c?
@@GregTardifAs soon as I saw the short on Ohio Shaves page, I raced to the site and bought this. 😂
I don't own the 6c.

Fancy daddy pants!
Miss ya Greg
Hiii thank you
It hurts just to watch bro,!😂
But does it hold up to a focused magnifying glass on a particularly sunny day? That’s the real question.

Arrrggghhh - not the dastardly "sixes" again! Thumbs down, unsubscribed. Not really - I'll be back for more - hurts so good
😂😂
A titanium razor would cost as much as that gold plated Rockwell 6 G, so it’s excessive by those standards.
Nice nice
Why? $250 down the drain like p*ss. Oh well 😢, welcome back.
As I said, only if you want to
Shouldn't this be the 6G?
@@ChrisLael maybe the 6GS?
Do you like gold plated safety razors?
I honestly,y prefer the old school look of silver. I dont even really like black safety razors
I've never even thought about it. IMHO, the build tolerance of the 6C (et al?) isn't good enough to warrant gold plating, or any other special finish.
It depends on the razor. I would love to see what my Feather AS-D2 would look like in gold.
I really like bronze, although my SS Konsul outperforms my two bronze razors

👍 I think if it’s dropped you have a low chance of chipping. In my years of traditional shaving I’ve only dropped one razor
there are some folks who may see value (literally) in owning a razor that's a limited edition model. might end up being a smart investment.
