The issue with EV costs though has always been the battery. It is those accessories that sweeten what would be a bitter pill in EV adoption. Even now, people are willing to pay a bit more for Teslas and EVs because of FSD. At least...that's how I rationalize why I pay more per mile over my Honda.... Great videos and keep up the good work. I had a question and didn't know if it could be implimented (surely its possible). Wondering if there could be a way to have the vehicles immediately do the following in the event of a crash or if the car notices that it is suddenly loosing power? - Save the video feed to preserve the crash footage to the onbooard hard drive. - Open the glove box so that you can have access to be able to collect the hard drive and video evidence needed due to the crash. - Roll down windows of occupied seats and pop open doors to make exiting the vehicle easier. Not a full blown wide open door, but maybe just enough that it could be easier to exit the door with the windows down. I know that everyone might not remember to do all this at the time of a crash, but this could help save the evidence, have access to the evidence, and get the occupants of the vehicle out as safely and easily as possible. Not sure what else might be helpful in the event of a crash owning a Tesla as I haven’t owned / ridden in one. Want one, but the timing / circumstances aren’t right just yet. Thoughts?
@@kidamere2408 I was told Tesla will update their battery tech about every 5-6 years. It seems like there should be something new this year or next. Are you aware of anything new coming up?
I don’t see any new evidence that Cybercab is not the same platform as Model two or whatever the cheaper consumer vehicle is called. On the face of it, it plainly seems like a camouflaged consumer car. Tesla has good reason to want to avoid an Osborne effect when talking about Cybercab.
On pause, likely scrapped due to Trump’s tariffs (though it probably would’ve been scrapped anyway) Tesla has pushed back plans for its unboxed process (what the Mexico plant was going to specialise in), opting to make use of its existing lines instead. There’s a few theories, that they weren’t making enough progress or didn’t expect demand to materialise for such a great expenditure
I have a 2022 MYLR with FSD. It could be more economical for Tesla to offer an exchange for a 2025 or 2026 version rather than try to upgrade HW3 along with the cameras
@ a lease or trade in would accomplish an upgrade naturally. However, for myself, I would expect FSD to either work 100% on my existing vehicle since I paid for it in 2022. Otherwise, as Elon says, they will need to replace the hardware and probably also the cameras. Another issue is that the new models have an extra camera on the front. Would they need to install this as well? I could trade in my MY in a year or two and I would love it if Tesla had a very attractive option to trade mine in rather than upgrading my existing vehicle to actually use FSD unsupervised
It looks more like the new models for 2025 is the updated Model Y and towards the end of 2025 the Robocab, if they can get licences for them to operate. Little evidence that we will ever see the hoped for Model 2/Q.
The veh to load looks good , but as I see Tesla software blocking it , simpler to buy a $600 2400w 2000wh lfp battery stored in trunk to rim appliances , it is charged by trunk 12v and works fine
The one thing I dislike about electric vehicles is you have to charge to 80% for battery health and that’s just not enough if someone uses there vehicle for work like me and just wants a cheap EV beater. I feel like I’ll be waiting another decade for a vehicle that I can use for my work to exist I just hope it’s a Tesla.
You need a Tesla with a LFP (or LiFePO4) battery vs. a Li-Ion (Lithium Ion) battery. I have a standard range Model Y and after getting a new battery in late 2023 am happy to report I have no appreciable battery degradation -at all- even after 15+ months and 15k miles… and I ALWAYS charge to 100%.
You could hear the facepalms from Tesla's lawyers the moment Elon started talking about HW4 upgrades on some cars. They promised FSD capability on all of their cars, and sell it as a monthly subscription offer. It's a lawsuit for false advertising that's probably already written and waiting for the official announcement to be filed.
@@viewer_5714 "Autopilot advanced safety and convenience features are designed to assist you with the most burdensome parts of driving. Model 3 comes standard with advanced hardware capable of providing Enhanced Autopilot features today, and full self-driving capabilities in the future." That's what the Model 3 was advertised as at launch. There's no mention of needing to pay for FSD to have hardware capable, it says it comes standard with the hardware. So the upgrade will need to be standard or it's false advertisement.
Paired down, less expensive models built on the same platforms will sell like hotcakes! Apple used the same strategy with their "SE" line of phones which sell like crazy because the price point is good and you get lots of good features even if they are not the bleeding edge.
The company stock is 6 times the book value of the company. Never a good thing for most products. For cars the problem is even greater as it means billions need to be spent on many new plants to make the cars. They should have started making the roadster a long time ago. Some buyers are trying to get deposits back and having no luck.
If there will be really a NEW model it only makes sense to use the Cybercab as a base with a different back. If the Cybercab project fails for any reason they can still make profit of the development. I hope FSD comes to Europe/Germany this year, but officials and media are just stupid and overprotective over here.
RWD CT with even lower range for $60k...LOL. I don't think there are many more suckers for Tesla to push these on but i guess they need to do it before they lower prices again across all configs. Its not that people can't afford a Cybertruck , most people know there is no VALUE there at these prices . People don't pay lexus prices for a Corolla for a reason.
I’m waiting for the next major breakthrough in tech. This could be batteries or supercapacitors used as batteries. It could be a leap in motor technology. Or it could be a massive savings in the cost of building a car. There is a chance the big breakthrough could come from competition, where a number of companies fight for market share so they deliver the best they can, on price, reliability and performance. If a company, even Tesla, finds a way to make more money, they have no reason to pass savings on to their customers.
It's amazing that there are armchair critics out there like you calling Elon a nut job when he has hundreds of millions of dollars in his bank account while you are on food stamps 🤔
I had 2 trials of FSD in a 11 month old HW3 M3 and the best part was showing off summons to coworkers and having it drive while I ate lunch without the nags I would get from Autopilot. Still for commuting in Aggressive Phoenix it is too timid even in assertive mode and people will pass you in beaters and look at you like EVs suck. Fun to play with if included but certainly not worth $8k for me and especially once you find out a Dec ‘23 build M3 is stuck in HW3. I’ll drive myself. YMMV
While Tesla faced some financial challenges in Q4 2024, its strategic focus on affordable electric vehicles and advancements in autonomous technology positions the company for potential growth in 2025 and beyond.

Even now, people are willing to pay a bit more for Teslas and EVs because of FSD. At least...that's how I rationalize why I pay more per mile over my Honda....
To drive from Daly City, CA to Calexico is $114, what would cost $150 gas money.....😅
Thoughts?
They are driving around test mules. Looks like the recent model y with camo. Looks like they are testing new parts for the new affordable models
So nothing about new battery technology or charge times?
They never do they internally test it then put it in the car without any fanfare
@@kidamere2408 I was told Tesla will update their battery tech about every 5-6 years. It seems like there should be something new this year or next. Are you aware of anything new coming up?
Do you think the tesl model y juniper will be cheaper after normal series or same price or more expensive?
Most folks I would assume won’t buy FSD until it is able to think faster than a human x4
The best year for Tesla will be the year the board relieves Elon of his duties
Yes, they should put Mary Barra in his place to see rapid advancement in FSD and efficiency.
@@magnushelin007 Tom Zhou would be a better choice?
I don’t see any new evidence that Cybercab is not the same platform as Model two or whatever the cheaper consumer vehicle is called. On the face of it, it plainly seems like a camouflaged consumer car. Tesla has good reason to want to avoid an Osborne effect when talking about Cybercab.
FSD needs HW4 to make FSD work as expected.
For sure HW4 really makes the experience 'pop'. Though I imagine we'll be saying this again with HW5(AI5)....😅
Robotaxi is V5 I believe
Regardless they will have to keep making revisions as laws update stricter requirements and regulations and logging and such
They should make a Tesla E-Cycle
I’ll be honest the two new models sound like it’s going to be a stripped back model 3 and model y version. Hardly two “new” models.
Whatever happened to the Mexico factory, was that scrapped?
On pause, likely scrapped due to Trump’s tariffs (though it probably would’ve been scrapped anyway)
Tesla has pushed back plans for its unboxed process (what the Mexico plant was going to specialise in), opting to make use of its existing lines instead. There’s a few theories, that they weren’t making enough progress or didn’t expect demand to materialise for such a great expenditure
Thanks Ryan for the update. I agree with your assessment on the accident statistics. ⚡⚡
I have a 2022 MYLR with FSD. It could be more economical for Tesla to offer an exchange for a 2025 or 2026 version rather than try to upgrade HW3 along with the cameras
Isn't that what a lease or trade in accomplishes? For your case of 3 years now, the upgrade would be...an extra $20k 😅
Remember, Elon's dates are at best 2 years out. So 2026 is 2028. Mark my words
Economics dictate V2L and V2G requires longlife LFP cells. NCA is 2-5 times more expensive in terms of lifetime $/kWh
I have a Model 3 with LFP battery. I think LFP is the best battery for those who need 100 % battery capacity every morning.
You need a Tesla with a LFP (or LiFePO4) battery vs. a Li-Ion (Lithium Ion) battery. I have a standard range Model Y and after getting a new battery in late 2023 am happy to report I have no appreciable battery degradation -at all- even after 15+ months and 15k miles… and I ALWAYS charge to 100%.
hw3 vehicles should be refunded the 15K
You could hear the facepalms from Tesla's lawyers the moment Elon started talking about HW4 upgrades on some cars. They promised FSD capability on all of their cars, and sell it as a monthly subscription offer. It's a lawsuit for false advertising that's probably already written and waiting for the official announcement to be filed.
It is not false advertising when they upgrade.
If they are selling fsd as a monthly subscription offer, then they haven’t sold it as a $10,000 option in that same vehicle.
@@viewer_5714 "Autopilot advanced safety and convenience features are designed to assist you with the most burdensome parts of driving. Model 3 comes standard with advanced hardware capable of providing Enhanced Autopilot features today, and full self-driving capabilities in the future."
That's what the Model 3 was advertised as at launch.
Those phones are mostly sold as company phones, barely making any money for apple. Like fleet sales for cars. Still not a loss though.
one is the cheaper model 3 and the other one will be a cheaper Cybertruck. they will not cannibalize the ModeY
I thought HW4 was also better cameras. Elon specifically said the computer and no mention of the cameras…
The cameras are fine, suboptimal but fine. It’s the lack of compute hurting HW3 cars
Thanks Ryan!
The company stock is 6 times the book value of the company. Never a good thing for most products. For cars the problem is even greater as it means billions need to be spent on many new plants to make the cars. They should have started making the roadster a long time ago. Some buyers are trying to get deposits back and having no luck.
Just install a powerwall III in the boot for V2G :-)
If there will be really a NEW model it only makes sense to use the Cybercab as a base with a different back. If the Cybercab project fails for any reason they can still make profit of the development.
I hope FSD comes to Europe/Germany this year, but officials and media are just stupid and overprotective over here.
Great video. Thanks.
100% duty on Tesla cars entering Canada is a great response to Trump’s ridiculous tariffs on Canada and Mexico
I wish your videos be more shorter, you do give good information but working ppl don’t have 20 plus minutes to watch…
You can 1.5x the playback.
Getting new model y what screen cover do you recommend and what floor mats? Thank you love your station!!
But they pay lexus prices for a camry
I would buy it but the price needs to come down as it pretty good. but I cant justify the $100 a month
Roadster???
I Trust that the 7,500 credit will remain in 2025.
I’d rather roll coal than put another penny in Elon’s pocket
I’m waiting for the next major breakthrough in tech.
This could be batteries or supercapacitors used as batteries. It could be a leap in motor technology. Or it could be a massive savings in the cost of building a car.
There is a chance the big breakthrough could come from competition, where a number of companies fight for market share so they deliver the best they can, on price, reliability and performance. If a company, even Tesla, finds a way to make more money, they have no reason to pass savings on to their customers.
Autonomous repossession 😲
Ryan moved from Juniper to new tesla models. :p
I’d like to buy an “S”, Vanna…
The price is still high for average consumer, on top of that these days a lot of people don’t want to hand their money to Musk.
Elon says a lot of things. And hes kind of a nut job anyways. So meh.
It's amazing that there are armchair critics out there like you calling Elon a nut job when he has hundreds of millions of dollars in his bank account while you are on food stamps 🤔
Less expensive Hatchback would be great.
Still waiting for the 2 seater sports car - Tesla still holding owner deposits
I appreciate Elon’s willingness to put his name and wealth on the line to assist in reducing government waste. 👍
For sure you’re joking, right Jeff!
Am I the only one here who's transfixed on this guy's eyes?
@@MakeItMakeSense285 Your quick reply is sooo sus. Hmmm....
It's the eyelashes
All the impressive assessment of FSD and yet when I tried it, it drove like a 5-year old in town, giving up in the most unfortunate moments. Waiting for it to make the next mistake was way more stressful than driving myself - PASS.
