There is a Durga Mata mandir at central part of the city. It is 100+ years old and continuing Bengali culture. A lot of Bengali famous literate people spent their life at Burma before 1947.

@Stella-c8j factually u r wrong in 2nd part 😁 rice is influenced by Eastern part of India like Odisha, WB, Assam and noodles n rice has our northeast influence. .. same here too. Tonnes of Burmese culture influence in Indian states too. In some Era, Burma was part of India too. It's always good to have Burma as neighbor. But not under military rule ofcourse 😉

You are using the word tribe to denote people whose ancestors came from different states of India. Surprised by you using such a term. They are not referred as tribals in our country. They are people speaking different languages of the states they live. Please correct what you want to say.

Great job, Garima. I visited Yangon last time in 1997. Wonderful place. I like it.
She doesn't know history. British brought lots of Tamils to Burma, Malaya, Ceylon and Singapore in the colonial era. After independence Burma chased out the Tamils but few remains. I am not sure how are they been treated compared to the Rohingyas.

I learnt that Indian population and house were greater then Burmese in Rangoon before independence of Burma. Now the Burmese military governments from time to time drive these people to the brinks of no civilization. Such things was not happened in India.
