This video provides information on how an IHSS recipient/consumer may hire a care provider, including tips on how to find, interview, and select a care provider.
Thanx Folks, learned a lil more and got some forms #'s in my notes...Iv been a supervisor B4 for a min but never an EMPLOYER...serious stuff need to inform the Few people I know I'm considering, hope I don't have to find from a group like the PASC but if I do I'm more confident what to consider, so sad so few comments but also like being part of an elite group...everyone good luck and Fair Well!
I have worked for several care agencies in the past. None have ever sent a recipient"s personal info to a provider's home! Info is gone over at the place the person is working &/or the office., and then kept at the place of employment . I guess the county doesn't have to follow HIPPA rules! Everyone I have asked for a resume & references has been a no call no-show! IHSS needed to be more realistic when it comes to time. An hour a week for grocery shopping is unrealistic. If it takes 10 mins each to go to & from.the grocery store ( providing there is a car to drive), and at least another 10 minutes to checkout out and load the car, and at least 15 mins to get the stuff in to the home & put it away, it leaves 15 minutes to shop. The numbers above are conservative! You are talking about people with mobility issues not able bodied persons . I spent 35 years working in grocery stores. I can tell you even most able bodied people don't do a weeks worth of grocery shopping in 15 minutes!
what if the consumer is 90% at confusion stage ? how would they hire a provider..
Forms for additional hours after original assessment
Not enough! What is long term care enrollment?
