Oklahoma will rebound this weekend. We are having a lot of issues down on the Plains. Typically these types of games are tough for favored teams coming into Jordan Hare but that luster and Mystical powers are not there. We make below-average QBs look like Heisman candidates because we keep hiring DCs who love to give QBs time and space to make plays. 3rd and 31, 4 and 22, no problem, just throw the ball downfield towards a receiver and you got it.

In the SEC, every road game is a tough out.
Unfortunately, Mr. Hawkins will have to endure the same issues - Mr. Young Jackson went through.
The OL is still going to be horrific - this will be a problem the rest of the season.
Play calling is still going to be a Nutz Scratcher - running backs still do not know how to pass block and your wide receivers - Have a hard time getting open and really struggle catching the ball.
Auburn has a long history of great athletic defensive lineman. I noticed they had some real big fast DL's last Saturday. All that along with what you described does not sound good for a very green freshman QB. They had the dual threat Arkansas QB scrabbling out of the pocket many plays. He could just still make plays.

Oklahoma defense showed the vulnerability of Tennessee offensive. I'm thinking Tennessee gonna have 3 losses this year. Oklahoma on the other hand, though we do have vulnerabilities, they are correctable, and out defense will kick ass this year.

Jay I am as big a OU fan as anyone, what do you think is going to happen when Hawkins struggles and we loose at Auburn… to answer your question where did JA go, we have NO PROTECTION, JA has had it drilled into his head to just stay in the offense and its not working, same thing happened when MH played within the offense and the he went off script and made some good plays but if he keeps playing like that he’s going to get hurt! We have an OC problem either they get creative and plan around the oline but I don’t think they know how the oline is offensive Jay! Cmon wake up Sooner Nation JA has played 5 games, Baker, Kyler and Jalen were all benched before coming to OU…. We cannot and should not give up Jackson! We’ve seen the potential and we have to get some protection for him or Hawkins or whoever ends up playing qb!!! BOOMER SOONER

@@firghteningtruth7173 I’m not disagreeing that he needed to be pulled, but they should’ve started him in the 2nd half and see if he settled down! I just think things would be different if we had any semblance of a game plan around the oline! And I think Hawkins is an unbelievable talent, but this oline will have him doing the same thing as JA! This oline isn’t blocking at all, how would you like to be one of the running backs trying to run the ball with NO lanes opening up at all! And everyone is saying that Tennessee took their foot off the gas… all I’m saying is that JA is staying in the confines of the offense and it’s not working, then Hawkins does the same thing with no results the he ablibs and makes some things happen, but that’s not sustainable he will get hurt and then what??? We have a OC and oline problem that everyone is laying on Jackson Arnold! He didn’t forget how to play football and it’s a shame as Sooner fan base were ready to give up on him after 5 games, Baker, Kyler, and Jalen were all benched and look how that turned out for them! He should’ve been pulled then brought back the 2nd half and see if things slowed down for him… if one or two drives them I agree to go with Hawkins but this oline is terrible and I know Hawkins made some plays but did Tennessee ever look scared in the whole game NO! The rb’s can’t run the ball because there’s no holes for them and the receivers are running the wrong routes!!! Like I’ve said JA has been told to stay within the offense and its just not working and if you really watch, when Hawkins gets out there he didn’t fair any better until he started improvising and then he looked really good… now that’s on the OC’S no one is on the same page and I’m afraid if Hawkins keeps playing the way he did the other night he will get hurt in the SEC because they will light you up!! After watching the oline, looks as though there are some not so bright individuals. Oline coach isn't getting them prepared mentally and assignment ready.

The thought that this Oklahoma dude implied about taking Auburn more lightly due to the loss to Arkansas just warms my heart. Still got that Big 12 mentality after getting man handled by Tennessee in Norman. We'll see how well keeping that mentality works out over this season. Oklahoma has for years just circled that RRR game as their pathway to a real good football season. Oklahoma is in a totally different world now. Even a lot tougher than their old Big 8 days.

@@craigmorris3055 Turnovers beat Auburn against Arkansas. Auburn has SEC type size & speed on both sides of the football. That makes Auburn very dangerous if they can get everybody on the same page out on the football field. That was a very physical football game. Auburn put out some vicious defensive hits until a DB broke his leg on one late in the 1st Quarter of a no score game. That did change momentum in that game along with the turnovers. Auburn coaches now probably have the defense re-fired for Oklahoma.

The left side of the defense left a lot of open holes that Tennessee could have picked on more. The defense was ok but the corners and safeties were not staying on their man then getting blown out by the YAC. They could rotate the quarterbacks and they both can catch and run they could put in that second option

OU fan from the 60s here. OUs offense sucked plain and simple. The Vols will get put in place soon enough. OU fans just need to quit crowing and let those boys get it figured out. I hoped for but didn't expect much this year. Let's just start over and try to get back on the right path.
No not just a bad quarterback . Banged up OL . TOP 4 receivers out and the defense kept them in the game . Miss me with the Tennessee played conservative please . You don't know football sir obviously . If OU just gets 2 field goals from the turnovers it's a different game . They average over 350 yards rushing and 300 yards passing per game . OU held them to less than 200 passing and 150 rushing . I don't know what game you watched sir . If OU gets decent QB play and OL they will be fine .
Tennessee must’ve played conservative in the first half. OU gifted points to Tennessee by turnovers by bad quarterbacking.
