    As someone who grew up with Naruto, the moment I saw that shuriken knife, my mind went straight to Sasuke using the Demon Shuriken: Windmill of Shadows

    I guess technically that "knife" would technically be a chakram, though those are typically discs.
    Reminds me of "Krull", an old sci-fi movie from 1983, which featured a somewhat similar weapon, though that one had 5 points.

    Nice to see you guys gave a second try of the game with the Feudal Warfare deck, which was supperior in comparison to the first one.
    The first constructed deck was rushed to push a starter deck product on the market and all Score did were inserting most of the main heroes and villains. While this one was thought and designed to have some gameplay interaction while also offering some staple cards from the first 3 sets as non-foil reprints.
    Though, just some correction;
    There is a fifth card type in the game, the Kaitou card. They are in an orange / brown shape and each deck can only have one of them. Unfortunately this product didn't had any. But the card is set aside in play and can hold a side deck depending on the number that is printed on them. Each Kaitou cards also have an effect that can be triggered like an Event. Some can only be used once per game, while others can be used more than once.
    The main win conditions are like you mentioned, either by stealing all of the Jewel Shards or by decking the opponent's deck. But there are a few alternative win conditions in the game with card effects. None of the alternative win conditions are part of this product, but they aren't the best ways to win though.
    Both of you were fine with your starting hands. But it was worth to mention; if either player is not happy with their starting hand, they have the option to swap their starting hand with their Jewel Shards. But if they do choose to swap, they cannot swap it back. This is the "mulligan" of the game.
    During the Battle Step, players can either Attack, Activate an effect in play, or Play an Event. During the first turn, after Goshinki attacked and defeated Miroku; the action should have gone to the opponent so they can either choose to either perform one of the previously mentioned actions.
    Just like during the Setup step, the active player have the initiative on conducting the first action, and it alternates between both players until both players pass. Once they both pass, the Battle Step ends, and the Recovery Step starts.
    So playing the Burst of Power was an illegal play. During the Battle Step, it is best to prioritize attacking the opponent's Characters before playing any Events to lower their attack force so they can't get a Shard advantage. So it's best to play Events once there are no more attacks that can be conducted.
    Just a minor detail, but when a Character is defeated, they also need to be expended (tapped). Reason for this is because there are certain cards that allows the players to save their defeated Characters during the Battle Step. But doing so causes the Character to be saved but expended to, preventing them from attacking.
    For clarification on saving; it doesn't need to be an exact copy of the Character. Though since the decks only come with 1 version of each Characters, the ruling is straightforward. But if a player were to have for instance a defeated Inuyasha Bodyguard in play, they could defeat any kind of Inuyasha Character card from their hand to save the defeated Inuyasha.
    On the matter of Kagura's effect, as previously mentioned, players are supposed to alternate between actions during the Battle Step. But with her effect, it would allow the player to conduct 2 attacks (Naraku and Kagura) within the same action. This kind of effect allows to rush against the opponent and potentially win the game in a single action if they were to only have 2 Shards left in their Shard Pile.
    On the matter of What Are You Doing?, since the players are supposed to alternate between actions during the Battle Step, the player who plays What Are You Doing? can attack the Character during their action, preventing them from attacking again due to being readied.
    On the matter of Koga, since players are supposed to alternate between actions during the Battle Step, his effect allows the player to conduct an attack and play an Event within the same action.

      @@TheTestTable1 the two of you played the game almost the right way. Just during the Battle Steps, players are supposed to alternate between actions (Attack, Activate a card effect, Play an Event, or Pass).
      If we take the first turn of this game as example; after Goshinki attacked Miroku, the Hero player should have been able to conduct an action. With the current board state, the best option would have been to attack with Inuyasha's Purple on Kanna's Purple.
      This would have allowed the Hero player to steal back the stolen Shard, while leaving no other Characters in play to be able to attack. This would have only left the players to either Activate a card effect in play (which there were none at that time), play an Event, or Pass). Once both players pass, it would conclude the turn's Battle Step and move toward the Recovery Step.
      If the Hero player wanted, they could have attacked Goshinki with Inuyasha. But this would have been a bad play since the Villain player would still have Kanna in play, allowing them to attack Inuyasha on White (which would have been 6 against 6 due to the Soda attached on Inuyasha) [Note; when attacking, if the value is equal or supperior to the defense Color, the defending Character is defeated. Otherwise if the defending Color is supperior, nothing happens].
      One of the goals of the game is to manage your Character's colors to either force the player to attack a specific Character, or maybe even leave them no options to attack.
      An example of board control, and unfortunately the two of you did not encounter this board state; if the Hero player were to have both Inuyasha and Kagome in play, Inuyasha's effect prevents the opponent from attacking Kagome as long as he's in play (face-up).
      So if the Villain player's board consisted of Juromaru and Sesshomaru, the Villain player would have been in a terrible disavantage due to Inuyasha's effect. So the Hero player could attack and defeat Juromaru to steal a Shard. And during the Villain player's action, they wouldn't be able to defeat Inuyasha with Sesshomaru due to his matching colors being weaker to those of Inuyasha, and be unable to attack Kagome in Red even though his Red is two times stronger.
      Another example of board control would be the combo of Naraku and Kagura. Since Kagura can attack right after Naraku defeats a Character, it allows to deplete the opponent's board by 2 Characters with a single action, while aiming for those who could potentially attack back to steal back the Shards that are stolen.

    Do patrons get the extended cut at the end? Lol. Great game, was fun to watch.
    The core mechanics of the game are quite good. Milling cards from deck is annoying for card cost but I like how there's a lot of interactions between the cards and that banished zone. Also the 2 separate win conditions are really good, makes you question if you should try to stall your opponant out or if you have enough board presence greater than opponant to win that way.

    • @TheTestTable1

    this is game is pretty good actually i gotta say, super simple and some actual strategy involved. i will say i think Connor misplayed when he could choose a card to discard from carl's hand, he should've chosen a character that would allow him to not replenish another character on the board. this obviously is inly a misplay if that 0 cost was actually good. GG though FR close as heck!!!

    • @TheTestTable1
      @TheTestTable1  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      No, you're right. If he had discarded a character from my hand, I would've lost the game. All the zero cost card did was let me return three characters from my discard pile to my deck. So, delaying my death by only a single turn.
