The American Bladesmith Society’s guidelines for Master Smith and Journeyman Smith applicants require that (s)he cut through hanging manila or sisal rope, a minimum of one (1) inch in diameter. The applicant must sever the rope in two with one stroke to test the blade’s edge geometry and sharpness.

I want one of these so much, it's like the Heavy Duty version of the Civilian.
And apparently it was a spyderco design that cold steel had to ask permission to make but I think it's better as a weapon.
@@lancasteredc7773 FYI I got it and it's one of the best knives ever made, not exaggerating.
Get the PE version and it still has a chisel grind edge with very thin edge geometry, out of the box this is one of the best slicers on the market.
The thumb plate is way better than studs, it keeps out of the way when sharpening, it also acts as a thumb ramp or something to grip when doing fine cutting with the tip, and you can hook it on draw consistently.
Then Black Talon II is one of the best designed knives I've ever owned.

@@lancasteredc7773 it's WAYY better than the spyderco vg10 junk. Spyderco were too cheap to give their customers something worthwhile

I am so proud and glad to own one. Its a damn lethal blade. I missed when closing the blade, merely touch my pinky and no pain at all(which means it's freaking sharp) and bleed non stop. Alongside with the tiger claw and talwar.... These 3 are superb lethal blades!
I also carry 24 hrs....this thing is devistating to look at....when I show it off you should see the look on people's faces
Unfortunately thats only the serrated version. And how is the plain edge version in comparison ?

I own 2 of them, I know the entire catalog front to back and own hundreds of Cold Steel blades, swords and machetes, that being said I know that they're discontinued I just want to see how the Black Talon one performs with an HD camera cuz all the footage they have it is grainy pixelated from 9 years ago
