  • Trying iRacing for the very first time! I am just getting started in my sim racing career, so I decided to try out iRacing and see if how well I could do in my first every race as a beginner, or as it's known - a Rookie.
    I had a load of fun with this so if you are interested in seeing more sim racing content like more iRacing, other sim racing games, sim racing set up videos, or reviews of sim racing gear, then please subscribe and let me know in the comments below!

    I just started Rookie myself last week after years of ACC and after this video i finally know why i encounter people with 1-2 SR daily. Luckily i wasnt part of any of this messiness you had to encounter in others.

    little piece of advice. try to brake while going in a straight line. most of your spins were because you started braking while you were already turning. Try to get most of your braking done before you start turning the wheel. Keep it up takes time but you will improve immensely with some practice.

    An addition because some comments mention it: when you are on the throttle the car gets lighter at front. Its why you get pushed into the seat when something accelerates. The car does this too, and all the weight goes to the back. It balances itself when at speed, but when braking or lifting the gas the opposite will happen in a more or less heavy effect. The back of the car wants to "lift off" the track and push forward (but goes up because of friction and weight balance - other topic). Depending on how much speed dependent the aerodynamics of your car are, the lesser traction is applied at your rear wheels -> the car gets inbalanced and you oversteer. F1 cars. e.g. have to decrease braking pressure because the slower they are, the less aerodynamic force pushes them into the track, so the traction gets less and less and the wheels cant deliver the same braking power like at high speeds.
    TL;DR:
    Back to the rear wheels: when you ride a bike and slam the brake, especially in front, all the weight at the top (you) gets pushed forward. All this weight distribution has to move somewhere, but because you are bound to the ground and braking, too, the force has to move somewhere else. In the example of the bike you will rotate around the front wheel and your rear wheel will lift. The same applies to cars. Basically the car rotates around a specific point to move all that mass. This is when your car will get lighter at the back.

    Some small tips:
    Use the relative blackbox because now you vant see who is coming up while you try to rejoin.
    Second a small amount of braking gives extra rotation in corners and thats why you spin out a lot.
    Also dont be afraid to practice and try different aproaches to a corner

      The ff1600 does have a lot of lift off oversteer because of the diff. You can move bb forward to be more stable under braking

    You're losing traction when releasing the throttle through lift oversteer. Basically, when you lift, the weight balance of the car moves forward to the front wheels, so the back is more prone to stepping out.

  • @hunterlardy9604

    You're probably going wild while breaking / slowing because you need to rev match during downshifts. You "blip" the gas when you shift down.

  • @angelsim1596
    @angelsim1596 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    lots of supportive comments giving advice, and they're all correct. When you start spinning, DO NOT slow down too much and definitely don't try to slow down a little with the brakes. your rear has lost traction and when you brake, it puts the weight even more to the front of your car and makes the rear lighter which makes it act like a pendulum (Great for cornering, but not great when you've lost traction). ENJOY !

    This is hillarious because we've all been there, almost nostalgic.. great content! Also it's actually great fun to see rookie races instead of the usual 3000+
    Btw lifting off throttle, the rpm goes down which can unsettle the car depending on how you do it, same goes for downshifting (but rpm up instead of down obviously)
