Pansori 'Heungbo-Ga’ - The Story of Heungbo
Heungbo-Ga contains insights into human greed and desire of social status through the conflict between Heungbo and Nolbo brothers, the children of the aristocratic class in Joseon, and provides a glimpse into the rapidly changing times of the late Joseon Dynasty.
In this video, we are featuring the scene where: Nolbo, an older brother who visited Heungbo's rich house, demands Heungbo to give him a chest called 'Hwachojang', full of treasures such as silver and gold, and returns home trying to memorize the name of this chest but eventually gets confused.
흥보가는 조선의 양반 계층의 자제인 흥보와 놀보 형제의 갈등을 통해 인간의 탐욕과 신분 사회에 대한 통찰을 담고 있으며, 급변하는 조선 후기의 시대상을 엿볼 수 있는 작품이다.
그 중 화초장 대목은 부자가 된 흥보집을 찾아간 형 놀보가 은금보화가 가득 들어있는 화초장을 빼앗고 화초장의 이름을 외우며 집으로 돌아가는 장면이다.
