    Thank you so much for that perspective. I myself have worked out a lot of sessions in the hours before so seeing the raw kind of process is actually really inspiring to me. Also your island model is something I have seen people try to describe a lot before, but you really narrowed it down well and I think thinking about my campaign in that way might help me out with some of my struggles in prep. So thank you for sharing those insights!

    Well done! I'm a DM of nearly 25 years and I run an always-open, online table, a weekly voice table, a monthly in-person table, a kids table (whenever they all want to play at the same time), and then I guest-DM for my local cosplay guild when their DM is sick or needs a break. Prep does NOT have to take a whole week to do. Honestly, I often do it a few hours before session - my brain is always working; it's just getting those details into the physical format so that I can pass them on to the players that requires the transfer. You did great. Adding a sub so I can keep track of your DM progress
