After living so many things with Gabriel, I didn't feel like he ever really fought for Emily. A breath of fresh air and a new beginning with Marcello seems great to me. Also, closer to real life, and well, Rome and Marcello's family welcomed Emily with love, she deserves a clean romance just for her, gosh, to leave behind what didn't work. Gabriel can also accept and start over, that would be the best.
Gabriel was always problematic. He never made up his mind. He first cheated on his 5 year girlfriend Camille with Emily and then keep going back to her while he was with Emily. He had all thise red flags from season 1. I dont know why she chose Garbiel in the first place. It was doomed for failure.
Gabriel is so annoying, can he just get out of Emily’s life? I won’t watch S5 if Gabriel is still in it. He’s character isn’t romantic at all. Who would want a man like that anyway?

Gabriel is to broody. I understand he has lots of pressure he wanted to get his Michelin star and he opened his own restaurant and he thought his ex girlfriend is pregnant . But Marcello is a breath of fresh air . He got emily to put down her phone and just enjoy the present moment . We haven’t seen that in four seasons. I actually hope Mindy doesn’t really tell Gabriel where Emily is. One of sweetest things every time Marcello talks to Emily he’s very emotional like you can actually see tears in his eyes when he feels hurt.
I feel alfie and Marcello are both green flag . They both had their feeling up right for her. And showed that they really care. Even though when marcello got he still said I will ask someone to leave to the hotel and didn't leave her like Gabriel.
Very good series, but this Gabriel is very indecisive and slow, and in life we only realize that we have lost someone in particular, when that someone is in someone else! Very kind comrade... Emily fought from the beginning to stay with this Gabriel but the comrade can't see beyond his nose. She even tried another one, but everyone is always together and it's hard to move on. The couples are very involved, like a soap opera. I agree with followers that Emily should really be with her last suitor, Marcelo. I love this series because I relive my time in beautiful Paris, and also in beautiful and wonderful Rome, where I spent some time. My two favorite cities. I must be back soon...

That being said though, I do feel that Emily and Gabriel were “stolen” a true chance of love and romance without outside interference. The fake pregnancy should’ve been brought to light and the truth to ALL parties involved should have come out a lot sooner! Xmas would have been very different if that was the case. And then after Gabriel learned the truth, Emily and Gabriel never got a chance to have an honest conversation about what was happening, their feelings and what the situation was as grown adults would have. On top of that, let’s face it that the snake step daughter made things a lot worse by translating what Gabriel said in French adding her own spin to it. (I doubt for him) *Maybe in S5 Gabriel will confront Emily's feelings between Him & Marcello. While, Emily is looking for happiness to cover up the pain in her heart. 💝 Emily is lucky at work, but unlucky to love.
I love Gabriel. He got sabatoged by Camille. Emily needs to go understand that his concern about being a good father is a quality that makes Gabriel worth being with and becoming a partner and support person. He was not a "silver spoon" guy like Marcello. He has to put so much energy in making his career work. Marcello has it so easy being from such a wealthy family. He has much more time for play., but that does not develop quality of character like having to struggle for what you want. I think Emily should realize this difference and be much more patient and understanding of Gabriel.. I think he will be the better and more loving man in the long run!!!!
Marcello is not that great. He immediately jumped to the wrong 🚨 conclusion twice about why Emily came to Rome. He gave her no chance to explain. He is very self centered.
Gabriel's role, is not that of man who provided emotional security. Emily has to overlook quite a few red flags and better merits the charactar that Marcello portrays, grounded, loyal to his community, family and work. I'd hope for Emily to simplify relationships with Marcello, there has been so much up hill and drama & at some stage that's got to stop, even if every day life no one lives that kind of romantic upheaval all the time.
It’s pretty clear that non of them can get over it, if I’m in Gabriel’s shoes I would have a fresh start in Rome, having my own restaurant that with the help of Emilie can be an iconic one, living together happily ever after, don’t actually see another way out rather than staying together!

Marcelo and his family has been open, warm & welcoming to Emily since Day 1 ! The way he shows her Rome and even specially comes to invite her to Rome on his last day in Paris shows that he is serious to court her from the Get Go! Emily in ROME all the way! She’s done with Paris for good 😜

Marcello has thrown tantrum twice. I seems sweet, but I don’t think he is a kind of a man Emily will settle with. Gabrielle is deeply in love with Emily, the issue is that Camille is always get in their way, making their relationship too complicated.

I love Gabriel. He got sabatoged by Camille. Emily needs to go understand that his concern about being a good father is a quality that makes Gabriel worth being with and becoming a partner and support person. He was not a "silver spoon" guy like Marcello. He has to put so much energy in making his career work. Marcello has it so easy being from such a wealthy family. He has much more time for play., but that does not develop quality of character like having to struggle for what you want. I think Emily should realize this difference and be much more patient and understanding of Gabriel.. I think he will be the better and more loving man in the long run!!!!
Marcello is not that great. He immediately jumped to the wrong 🚨 conclusion twice about why Emily came to Rome. He gave her no chance to explain. He is very self centered.
Gabriel's role, is not that of man who provided emotional security. Emily has to overlook quite a few red flags and better merits the charactar that Marcello portrays, grounded, loyal to his community, family and work. I'd hope for Emily to simplify relationships with Marcello, there has been so much up hill and drama & at some stage that's got to stop, even if every day life no one lives that kind of romantic upheaval all the time.
It’s pretty clear that non of them can get over it, if I’m in Gabriel’s shoes I would have a fresh start in Rome, having my own restaurant that with the help of Emilie can be an iconic one, living together happily ever after, don’t actually see another way out rather than staying together!
