    Doctor - I was just diagnosed with bladder and uterine prolapse. For the uterine prolapse when is it typical to just do the stitch and when is it normal to have to have a hysterectomy. Your videos are so helpful! I wish I lived in Tennessee!

      I do an ultrasound to make sure the uterus , the lining of the uterus, and the ovaries are normal. If anything is abnormal or there is bleeding then the uterus needs to be removed by hysterectomy and can be done through the vagina. Sometimes your doctor will want to do a hysterectomy for a repair it is their preference and skill that should guide that decision. My videos demonstrate that there are other less invasive approaches to the same successful surgery.

    This is a very informative and interesting video. Thank you Doctor. I have vaginal wall prolapse and have been doing physiotherapy for 4 months. I feel improvement in some areas but still have what I would consider severe symptoms. Can PT be effective to avoid surgery? I’m getting quite discouraged at this point. I was originally scheduled for surgery tomorrow but delayed it a few months in hopes that PT would help. What are your thoughts? Thank you.

      PT can help but cannot fix broken tissue. Surgery may still be necessary.

    I read the bladder slings cause trouble. They get ingrown. Why not use a very fine mesh, not a dam fishnet!?

      Urethral/bladder slings are very effective and replace much more difficult surgeries. It is mesh and has been studied and real life shows great results. I have done thousands with great success. Mesh is still very useful in the right situations and is done by an experienced surgeon.

      It is very common to have urgency to pee after surgery, and this can be controlled with pelvic floor exercises and potentially medications can help

      I am in northeast Tennessee America, but you may have a surgeon that is very close to you. If you have a gynecologist, that is close, they may be able to help you or know someone that can.

      @DrJeffreyMcQueary  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know precisely how much surgery would be but Outpatient surgery is typically 1/2 down to a 1/4 of the price of a hospital based surgery.

      Look up pelvic floor exercises on the internet. That should help. Also get to your doctor and they can refer you to a pelvic floor physical therapist.
