yep, also again at Snetterton - he is a bloody liability !!! needs a real talking to, a proper penalty like 50 points deducted or missing 2 races / a weekend - or a financial penalty of £20K towards the damage he is causing the other teams !
I'm sick of Andy Irwin and his stupid moves. He doesn't learn, hes still at it in 2020. Organisers have to make him watch an incident, msje him understand why hes to blame and exclude him from races before he hurts someone seriously.
Catching up on some of your old interviews Greg. Gosh, doesn't seem like almost three years since this happened! There's been a few of these "incidents" in BSB over the last few years, and more than just the Irwins. I love close racing but sometimes the riders go for a gap that doesn't exist. However the main thing is that no-one gets hurt as I guess testosterone will take over sometimes. Thanks for the interview Greg. I made comments on a video a guy had posted saying Andrew Irwin had been dealt with harshly, obviously a fan of Andys. He seemed to think it was ok for Andy to put people onto the grass at over 100mph because he was determined to win. He hit the self destruct button on his own championship chances several times and never learned from it. I admire his obvious talent but I think its insane that he should be allowed to risk other rider's lives just to try make it onto the podium. He wants to go to WSBK, if he is still dangerous, I am sure the other riders will do something about him, whether by petitioning the organisers or just doing the same to him. Racing is dangerous enough, its bike racing, not banger racing. Get a grip and wisen up Andy Irwin, before you kill yourself or someone else. Rant over! Cant wait for next years BSB, keep up the good work guys.
It's simple, Andy's trying to put 10 lbs. of motorcycle in a 5 lbs. space. He overly aggressive. it's like a labrador with a ball, that's all he can think about. He sees an opening and thinks I can get thru that, without further processing. He fails to consider that the opening, in a microsecond, is going to be different, due to the changing position of the "two" motorcycles at speed. A lot of young guys coming up have this problem, Marquez, Simoncelli and others, I think Rossi too, in the early years, were all accurately accused of this problem. The only Cure seems to be stringent penalties.
I was there where the incident happened, Scott was seriously outraged by swearing, Andrew tried to apologise but Scott wouldn’t have it. I tried to calm Scott down, which he did a couple of minutes later. But. Cadwell Park was a great weekend, it’s my favourite circuit !!
