    I'd love more of this kind of videos!!! As someone who is not into the competitive scene but likes to watch content of this game, this was not only entertaining but also helpful in many ways.
    I also liked that you stopped for a while to give your insight regarding what happened after the match, I strongly agree with it.

      DBFZ is in this weird space where it's getting a lot of people who maybe only watch competitive matches for EVO into full-time competitive spectators, and videos like this really help!

    Hey jm, longtime viewer here and I just wanted to make sure you knew how much we love these match analysis videos, as well as the fgc lore videos (those are my favorite in particular). You've got a regular audience here numbering in the thousands, whom you shepherded into the fgc so to speak. I for one can say you're responsible for teaching me how to read fgc! You're the thing a whole generation of new fighting game players are going to think of when they think back to learning the fundamentals and learning an appreciation for your new community's history and getting hyped when the new history rears it's head. What I should have said is these make for really good videos that you can call good content with a straight face. Thanks, Dylan

    “I don’t think it’s morally wrong” it kinda is when you sign up for a 7 week invitational event and they tell you everything weeks in advance including conditions and everybody said it was okay and you SIGNED a legal contract to fulfill that obligation and you back out because you lost. This wasn’t a public sign up tournament.

    • @JoNNyCLOUD171
      @JoNNyCLOUD171 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

       @Yukari MAiG *''It's like quitting a job, is it immoral? Probably not if its a crappy job''* This is such a gross miss statement it's actually embarrassing. Working a job, ANY job, you know what you have to go there for. Quitting for no reason other than to quit without notice is wrong regardless of how crappy the job is.

      So that kinda speaks volumes to Crofts morality a bit there. He does say "probably" but that is not how I would expect a man of his personality to act. I kinda figured he'd be a better person than that.
      I fully agree to the tournament organisers and staff being put out but the commentators? Dafuq?! They get paid (handsomely) to talk about what is happening on screen. Nobody with a brain cell is going to say they ruined it because they didn't hype up a rage quit or a controller DC. It just is what it is. Nothing really about their job is hard so I don't even acknowledge that statement in anyway. Also nobody really gives 2 shits about the commentators anyway unless it's Yipes and Tasty Steve or Hellpockets. I mean the others are fine but hardly get you pumped as much as those.
      This situation here is in reality far closer to getting a job, signing a contract which lists your responsibilities and duties then being FORCED to do something that wasn't in the contract or talked about during the interview or training.
      I am not defending Chris at all, the facts are the facts. Let's not pretend that the PC version is the more stable version. Lets not pretend the steam peer to peer is in anyway superior to Sony's peer to peer. Let's not pretend that system specs are not a defining factor and the games architecture is optimised to run the same on every GPU / CPU of the same calibre because that just isn't true.
      In general the PC version is ass. The pros constantly complain about 1/2 frames lost due to wireless connections and this is so much worse, so the situation is nowhere near the same as it is couch play. Chris really doesn't need to defend himself with regards to skill. Reynald is nowhere near the level he is at in the FGC in general but in DBFZ Chris also plays off meta characters and gets to top 36 at worlds and top 4 finishes in seasonal tournaments. Reynalds performance was hardly spectacular to even say well at least he just outplayed Chris under the circumstances or even just put on a great performance.
      Chris did agree to play and he did in essence agree to accept this is a possibility but let's be fair nobody in that situation would expect for it to happen and more over be happy about it. Just like in the small print of warranties your TV could just miraculously not work after 1 year. It's not fair nor would most (if any) people be happy about it despite agreeing to the small print.
      Was Chris morally wrong? Erm I guess....? Was he contractually wrong? No question, obviously he was. Was he being a salty douche? I dunno, I don't know the guy other than he has had a tough time with sponsors screwing him over this year and his past biting him in the ass. I've been to a few streams and asked a few questions and he takes the time to talk about them and gives the vibe he wants to help. I can't even get on Hooks stream unless I pay so I would reserve some judgment here for Chris. LTG makes shit loads from his drones and he says and BELIEVES (more importantly) far worse stuff. People just need to think a bit more before they talk and be fairer.

      @@JoNNyCLOUD171 I highly disagree. You don't owe an employer anything and can quit if it makes you happier to do so. The only time I would go "Uh, don't just quit like that" would be if you were a fucking doctor or a nurse since lives are on the line. Other than that, you can quit a job if it makes you happy, don't torture yourself for someone else.

    • @JoNNyCLOUD171
      @JoNNyCLOUD171 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@servebotfrank4082 doesn't matter wether you agree the facts don't care about your feelings. You signed a contract and therefore have a moral and legal fucking obligation.
      Oh all of a sudden lives are on the line and you need to show the internet you have compassion to try and get people to side with you and "win the argument" so in that 1 instance it's not ok. No one is that blind to your selfish mentality.
      You are everything that's wrong in the entitled first world. I've left a job before without giving notice but I'm man enough to admit I was wrong, something nobody ever does these days. (criticise there own behaviour)
      I'm not saying there aren't extreme circumstances but to just flippantly walk out and give no notice IS wrong. Generally speaking the circumstances are irrelevant.
      YOU made the choice to work for someone and YOU should have all the facts about what you have to do at the job. If it isn't as described then fine your legally and morally ok to walk because you were lied to. However if it's just "Not for you" well tough shit. They give you a pay cheque and with that the means to live. You are legally and morally obliged to speak to the line manager and work notice if they ask you too.
      It's even more sad because if they just dropped you from a job with no warning you would soon bitch and moan like a first world entitled moron.
      It's literally no different to saying to a mate you will be somewhere then not turn up and let them know nor give them a reason why. The reason most people don't do that is because they won't have any friends which again is a sad and selfish mind set.

      I mean, to be fair, many pro players have done this in the past when it comes to these online tournaments, so why just harp on Chris G? And it is certainly understandable if you don't want to participate in a tournament where you are playing for money and you need to play at your best but can't due to netcode. He gave it a shot, decided that it simply wasn't worth his investment cause of the net code (with someone he has played with before with NO issues) and quit the rest of the tournament. I just don't see how this is an issue. And technically he did give a notice of one week since the next set of matches don't start until next week.

      @@doctorreed_ so because the other 39 players didn't have a problem, that INSTANTLY dismisses the claim of lag? That is some really backwards thinking and that is also not how lag works. Yes, Chris G has a reputation but nothing about his Twitter post screams selfish whiny manchild to me. It seemed pretty adult because he could've easily NOT have finished the set. He could've easily just quit right then and there. He didn't HAVE to post a tweet explaining anything. But as with anything else going on in the world right now, continue to focus on the negative. I completely agree with jmcrofts and his view on this, but I will say from personal experience and from being trampled on A LOT in my life that if I had to choose my welfare over someone else's who is not my family or loved ones, I am choosing myself. Pretty good neutral view of the whole drama related to the leaving of the tournament.
    The issue surrounding it is less about the player himself being in the right / wrong and more of just how many other people are negatively effected from it. Don't both claim you can't deal with the situation and put down other people who are trying to prop you up on the good faith assumption you are still trying your best. If you can't deal with it say it is your problem, apologize for the repercussions, and bow out.

    i told chrisG on twitch to use his old videl(which is now good) and to use master roshi b assist and nappa b assist because those 2 assists synergy helped her high low mix up game, and i know how amazingly good he was with her.....and told him how strong roshi b assist was to support the newly well buffed high damage videl and to use roshi b with her..this was a couple days after 3.5 patch dropped..but he just smerked after reading my comment like it was my 1st day playing or something. smh.. and refused the advice cuz he mysteriously wanted to use a brand new team he wasnt familar with. and from watching his tien on twitch..his tien was no good.
    there are the results.

    Chris G is a huge baby BUT this could be a great message for the developers about the need for rollback netcode, lets be honest here, DBZF netcode is absolute dogshit, when its terrible you get salty if you lose because you know it wasn't your fault and if you win you don't even get to enjoy the victory.
    Is just frustrating and clunky playing a game that has overpowered autocorrecting autocombos, banish and superdash with shitty online.
    If chris would have quitted BEFORE the tournament japan woul have ignored as they always do, but now that this happened japan must hear it for the million time until they get it right: ROLLBACK IS THE PRESENT AND FUTURE OF FIGHTING GAMES! IS NOT ONLY WANTED BUT NEEDED!!!.
