Hey guys, got some bad news.
Unfortunately the Dark Souls 2 IGN Video got hit by a copyright (and not the good kind). Usually I just take the L on copyrights but this one was a scary one which threatened channel strikes.
I've had to mute the video from 20:08-21:33. Big shame because it's an important part (the part with the poison arrows) but I hope you all understand! xx
What even caused the copystrike?
@@samdam1618 yeah I wonder who is the person responsible for the strike in the first place
Please upload it unedited to an alternate site.
it got copyrighted struck cause the guy died 65+ times and was embarrassed

That is so true it fucking hurts
@Geographer Sudoku yes
Ya his parents seem pretty sweet
My favorite part is when he heads back to Majula to talk with the many interesting NPCs, such as Sweet Shalquoir
I liked when he returned to Majula, leveled up, and spoke to the NPCs, especially Sweet Shalquoir.
@@weneedaladder8384dude im revisiting the video and It was INSANELY hype when he returned to Majula and talked to memorable NPCs like Sweet Shalquoir

IGN literally trying their hardest to turn you into a healthy and socially active person
exactly what dark souls fans need XD
That’s not to do with ‘social activity’ or health
You’re getting the wrong normative idea here
None of the things are about health or not, and social activity is up to you how much you want to do it
That’s not the intent

That death count is probably how many tries it took to learn these "pro gamer strats". They weren't dying following their own advice, they died so they could give advice to others. A true hero.
My thoughts exactly with the Old DragonSlayer
We honor him
"Now begins the killing, followed by a light salad" is such a delightfully obscure quote. It's from a student film called "The Gamers" about a bunch of college kids playing dungeons and dragons that went viral in 2002. The group that wrote, and performed it went on to form "Dead Gentleman Productions" and later "Zombie Orpheus Entertainment." They are currently known for producing the web series "Journeyquest," "The Gamers: The Shadow Menace," "Strowlers," "The Demon Hunters" and have produced two full length sequels to the original student film.
Actually very high quality content. I recommend everything they have ever worked on.
Great to see this reference!
Gamers: Dorkness Rising, is where its at
@@Skull_Corn You mean like where to watch it?
@@validtangent no. I meant like its the good one
Is it that one with "The shadow" quote?
IGN wins a million times over because Lenny's mom smashing a face, lighting a Primal Bonfire, then giving her son a double high five is the most wholesome thing this channel's ever had happen.
Also checking out (and then approving of) the Green Herald
When Lenny's mom said "DS2 isn't bad, It's shit." it genuinelly made me laugh out loud, such a wholesome moment
Dark Souls II IGN guide doesn't just tell you how to beat the game, it also makes sure you take care of yourself by keeping up a good relationship with your parents, cleaning your house, eating right (a cookie and a pizzi oh boy yeah), keeping your mind sharp (rubix cube), maintaining good emotional health by taking breaks, and paying attention to your sweet cat. Not to mention it's encouraging and focuses on gaining a sense of accomplishment. So wholesome! Those segments with your dad and mum are just the best ever! Awesome vid, Lenny!
His dad saying so genuinely "I don't know what's going on?" killed me.

hey don't forget the light salad!
But they still made him use mouse and keyboard
@@fanaticpharaoh6689 KB+M controls are pretty good in Elden Ring (with some settings tweaking), but for DS2...
I'm sure it'd make for an interesting experience, at least
I think the fact you printed out the guide really adds to this whole experience
how can you find the guide?
@@ender01o66 I'd be curious for that as well, so far I haven't been able to find it anywhere. The currently uploaded IGN guide (updated in 2019) looks completely different, and even using the WaybackMachine to take a gander at how it looked in 2014, it doesn't fit to the document he's using.
Doesn't matter much, the video is amazing and his mother wonderful.
@@backslash153 i dont think it is, but it might be a fake ass guide he made just to try and clickbait the shit out of its dumb tips and weird ass way of wording stuff
but hey, i would believe this being the actual ign guide, just thought how weird it is you cant find anything similar to the one in the video and somehow he has this weird ass complete guide printed out.
ign is a leftist shill publication. Imagine taking anything they say seriously
@Cosmic For me, it doesn't matter where the guide came from. As long as someone created it and put it online as genuine advice.
Mad respect for sticking with the guide and spending 4 hours on iron king blindfolded, unironically an insane achievment.
I think his advice came from all his deaths-meaning that the readers are benefiting from the writer’s 30ish deaths on each boss.
On one bos he wrote 65+ deaths, but not even once thought about putting the funny number in
The end animation is just heartwarming
Tbh the bit about taking a break to destress is really good advice. Once you start tilting and throwing yourself at a hard boss over and over it can get really frustrating.
Anecdotally I remember taking an hour off after dying to SS Isshin maybe a dozen times then coming back and getting him almost immediately. At a point it's not that you can't beat the boss-you're just not in the headspace to do it.
Yeah, and that frustration only makes it harder. Can't force something like that.
can confirm. I played ds2 with a buddy, because alone i didn't want to play souls games, and we had to beat the giant king dude. not the last giant, the other one way later on. I lost and lost and lost and even lost my mind and he said take a break and a day or so later we tried again and i beat him first or second try.
Ever since we played the games together I am a huge fan and played the ganes on my own countless times and remember his advice when I'm stuck
Me with o'niall in elden ring, literally was stuck on him for days straight constantly throwing myself at him.
He literally made me take a break for months. Came back one random day because I found out all my mates were on their like seventh playthrough and I beat him first try
Not gonna lie, just going off of Lenny’s personality I half expected his dad to be like “THE FUCK’S A HEIDE KNIGHT?!” But your mom just going with it was absolutely precious
Also love how the pizzi guy got to be involved with one of these videos.
God the mom part was so wholesome, cherish your mum lenny, you can tell that she loves your videos. I lost my mom early this year and I wish I could've done stuff like what you and your mom did
I'm in the same situation, but with my Dad eariler this year. If your parents are good people, as Lenny's clearly are, then I hope everyone will remember to cherish the moments they have with them because they really can be taken away when you least expect it.
Lenny not only blessed us with content but it's even Dark Souls 2.
I hope he's doing well these days.
I like how this is phrased as if this video is a decade old and Lenny’s never been seen since. Tell me time traveller, what is it that you know?

The Ign guy has so much determination. He can find enjoyment even after dying so many times
You can't say that moments with Mama Lenny aren't the best things to come out of this channel. Lenny, you're blessed to have a mother such as her. Sending my congrats that she managed to light the bonfire.
Now if only you had that niece...
Dude died to the dragon rider 27 times and called that a warmup... This reviewer may not be good at dark souls but God damn he's a trooper to just keep playing like that and shrug it off.
I've never played Dark Souls and I've never heard of this channel before but seeing your mom come on screen and ya'll cheered after killing the mob was a wholesome af moment.
I would give several vital organs for Lenny and his mom to start a streaming channel. This was so much fun to watch live, can’t wait for the next one
I’d do the same, but for Lenny and vati’s mum
@@MightyPoggers She’s always over at Lenny’s house anyways according to what he says in his videos, so it’s not like it would be inconvenient

What you gotta appreciate is the sheer effort put into this. The writer went through hell and documented the strategy they used that worked consistently, and I love them for it.

Watching Lenny and his mom play Dark souls 2 has to be one of the most wholesome things I have ever seen. I wish I could've watched it happen live
Pet the kitten Lenny. I kinda like that the guide has personality. I imagine it would add to the feeling of having a teacher, an actual person, standing by your side and guiding you through the game. Teaching you the lessons that they learned through painful experience so you don't have to suffer as they did.
Well, in this case, the teacher gets increasingly abusive as time goes on... But still, personality is great!
To be fair, when it comes to figuring out the strategy like what they did with the Old Dragon Slayer, maybe after dying all those times, they had that moment where everything just clicks, an epiphany of sorts. It's hard to notice those minor things and details to fight a boss when your brain is in that state of "OHGODI'MGONNADIEOHCRAPOHGOD!" I personally have started playing DS2 for the first time, and I have no idea what I'm doing. Other than dying, I seem to be pretty good at that.
In ign's Man defense I also died a whole lot on the 3 bosses forgot his name
After 5 months, are you winning yet?
I love when Shalquoir said “I’m sure your mother’s still proud” it cut back to your dad being extremely confused instead
I loved when Lenny's dad was absolutely buzzin it was so holsome and then I think we all were absolutely buzzin
Dude I have not laughed this much in so long I love these videos and your mom is such a sweetheart. I love how they wanted you to speak to the cat after each boss for no apparent reason and wanted you to take care of yourself, wholesome folks.
The mom knowing exactly what to say, and the dad being confused but clearly loving his son to bits.
We can sum up his interaction as "I'm confused and couldn't hear you, but of course I'm proud of you son"
This whole video was just a treat, and bringing your mom into the stream to keep with the guide was incredibly wholesome, especially loved the ending bit, great job Lenny.
The IGN team had some harebrained advice for DS1 but they were truly out of pocket for DS2. This is such an amazing format you've created!
So to review, this guide: Fixed Lenny's relationship with his parents, has him eating healthy, got his dishes cleaned AND dealt with his anger, had him spend time with his mum (who is lovely lady btw), and helped him solve a rubix cube. This the best guide ever!
Don't forget improving Lenny's skills by having him beat a boss with a dumb ring out mechanic while blindfolded
And it reminds us why people ironically use impact font
Lenny, nice to see that this guide takes actual steps to help your personal life. Truly you are their baby angel.
The part where Lenny has his mom play the game genuinely warmed my heart, great video.
Great upload and very funny as always. I think it's worth bearing in mind how difficult the job of guide writer is. They are usually the lowest paid hardest working writers for a service. They had to write this with no other strategy guide, completing the game as quick as possible at or before release to get it out in order to get people's clicks. And to do all that with a dark souls game is huge respect.
Lenny's mum is an absolute treat. Such a fantastic and wholesome moment.
I wore a huge grin on my face when your mum came on camera, then again at the end. She's quite entertaining, as are you. These IGN guide videos may be my favorites of yours, so I hope to see more in the future. Keep up the good work.
This is so wholesome. Lenny’s parents sound like lovely people, and yes, I would like Bloodborne Souls 2 please.
MIYAZAKI PLEASE MAKE BLOODBORNE 2 I BEG OF YOU
Lenny's mom?! Hell ya man get her a TH-cam channel. We DEMAND to see her Broken Sword only DS1
Regarding the high death counts from the guide:
You have to remember that the guy who created the guid didn't have much information and tried basically everything in order to find a good strategy.
that bit with his mother playing was so wholesome and nice, really love to see that kind of stuff
Your mom is an absolute gem man, I am really glad that you both had fun!
I love the algorithm for pitching this at me. Tremendously entertaining, one of the funniest videos I've seen all month. And so wholesome too, what with mum and doing the dishes and everything. When he was running down the street to buy a Rubix cube before the store closed I was almost in tears.
I felt the fucking dish break.
Legit cried when Lenny’s mom came in, too wholesome and cute.
not even a minute in, and this video is already so wholesome. i love how excited he is to show everyone his mum !! and it’s so sweet of her to join in. i love this 😭💖
Lenny’s mom gotta be the most precious human being on this planet.
I dunno why, but the sheer joy i got out of seeing the both of you in dis just melted my heart
Your mom and dad are the absolute best, hardest I've laughed in a while, well done mate!
As much as there is cringe in these old guides , they also have this old school era of gaming that kinda makes them irestaitable
( Also Lenny bringing his mom for the bonfire segment was just wholesome!)
the IGN guy's later memes ("what if I told you [wall of text]" especially) wrapping back around to being funny in a very 2023 ironic sorta way is incredible
I love the Sweet Shalquoir bit bc he doesnt explain why he wants us to talk to her but she gives context to the bosses and areas as you find them and nudges you toward your next goal
Not something you need if you have experience or a guide lol
I love your dad's reaction it was so pure and wholesome. Sounds like my dad if he didn't introduce me to dark souls
oh my god lenny's mom and that outro are the cutest things ever wtf 😭🥰 what a cute and wholesome interaction
The segment with your Mother was the most heartwarming thing I've seen in a long while, love the content as always big boi
20:00 to 21:42 i loved the audio and the uniquely designed sound they made for this section
Classic dark souls BS difficulty. Haha
This is easily the best of the IGN Guide series so far. So many fun and wholesome moments.
I think the death counts are so high because he had to discover these strats himself by failing a bunch of times. If the advice he came up with through that works, then honestly job well done.
This was the best run of Dark Souls 2 I've ever seen. Props to your mom and dad for being participants. I must say, I was disappointed you didn't order your favorite pizza like the guide said though
Hes eating pizza after
I think I popped in once while this was being streamed and I legit thought Lenny was writing THE IGN GUIDE for DS2. Brilliant content.
Was awesome to see a Jumpin video in here, my friend and I followed his guide to beat ds2 (Our first souls game) together and it's one of my favorite gaming memories. Really brought me back.
I love all the little real life side quests this guide had
Your mum is 100% my hero. Mad respect.
It's funny that you mention that for some people a no adaptability, no lifegem run is normal, because that's exactly what my first experience with the game was. My first ever souls game. It's a miracle I fell in love with the series.
I just want to say thank you for inspiring me to try my own Broken Sword run in DS2, I'm disallowing any form of cheeese or intentional gimmick mechanics and I've so far gotten past ruin sentinels, a lot more fun than simply destroying everything with a rapier.
Such a fun, good idea for a series 😂 the guides are so poorly written but the passion and excitement obviously poured into them is so wholesome
47:00 The Rubik's Cube detour was so expected but hilarious 🤣♥
I was there when your dad called on stream and he was an absolute sweetheart. Loved this run Lenny, you're a hero!
I loved the segments with your parents and your mum is an absolute queen for coming on stream and taking care of business 😂😂
I love the absolute confusion his dad was feeling, it gets me every time.
he goes from "this game is easy if you know know you're doing" to "premium souls bullshit!" in one page, and I respect that.
Best video yet! I love Lenny's commitment to doing everything the guide says, no matter how stupid it seems. Makes for some really great moments.
20:09 anyone else lose sound at this point?

When your mom came round it actually melted my heart. That’s probably my favorite thing I’ve seen on this site ever. She seems like a lovely lady.
mate, your family is wholesome. Im glad you ve included your parents in the video :D Really enjoyable content, thanks to you and your family!
No fr tho. Wtf is dilan Wilcox tho
Before we knew about the intricacies of DS2, a friend of mine played through the game with 7 adaptability (DLC and all) lmaooo. With all the jank and hitbox weirdness, I can honestly say he is one of the best souls gamers i know.
I think this one's your best yet, man. Well worth the wait. This is absolute gold
The death count's are probably how long it took him to figure out, the advice he wrote
You have one of the best moms ever. That was so wholesome. Just a mom wanting to help his son out, and god damn enjoying it. Thank you ❤️
This one was absolutely hilarious. Was genuinely laughing out loud multiple times
I don't even play Dark Souls but this video is amazing. Your mum is the best. I'm laughing at this every few minutes, what entertainment.
The art of Lenny and his mom was fantastic!
The advice works well because it's the one that worked for him. He tried everything else for battle turtle to be the successful one
Why the guide guy insists so much on talking to the cat? It's because the 1 day version was much different from today's steam up-to-date version I guess. Maybe they made the cat talk the lore of the boss you defeated or something. I actually watched some 1 day videos and perhaps that's why
I just discovered this channel and I'm...utterly in love.
17:01 - the "chess club" comment made me immediately think of moistcritikal beatinc xqc lol
When your mom asked who the emerald herald was, and with 0 hesitation you said "that's the green herald"... I laughed so hard I cried... no it's fucking not hahahahaha
I feel like I’ve seen this before but now I’m confident because I don’t remember this minute of silence in the middle of the video before.
Imagine you're browsing twitch, and you see someone playing DS2. You click it and on screen you see
"Got to go do dishes, brb :)"
I think all the gatekeeping we have in the Souls comunity actually started with IGN
the reason he tells you to talk to sweet shalquoir is because it's a cat that you can talk to. that is reason enough i think.
The Guides always feel AI generated and it never ceases to be hilarious
Lennys mum getting screen time is the best thing to come from the dark souls series lol
We need more father Lenny moments
This is still my favorite Zero Lenny video. Still watching DS Remastered IGN guide but so far, I think that this is still the best and funniest.
Thank you Lenny.
