Tbh the bit about taking a break to destress is really good advice. Once you start tilting and throwing yourself at a hard boss over and over it can get really frustrating. What you gotta appreciate is the sheer effort put into this. The writer went through hell and documented the strategy they used that worked consistently, and I love them for it.
To be fair, when it comes to figuring out the strategy like what they did with the Old Dragon Slayer, maybe after dying all those times, they had that moment where everything just clicks, an epiphany of sorts. It's hard to notice those minor things and details to fight a boss when your brain is in that state of "OHGODI'MGONNADIEOHCRAPOHGOD!" I personally have started playing DS2 for the first time, and I have no idea what I'm doing. Other than dying, I seem to be pretty good at that.

I enjoyed this video, but we absolutely had internet 8 years ago. I used to look up guides for Manhunt, and the OG Halo. And they were pretty coherent. Those guides were kind of like collectors items at the time. They came with posters and artwork, they were never useful. Like even in the days of NES they were written more mysteriously and incomprehensibly than pirate treasure maps. They cost like 40 dollars too. I miss going to Gamestop. Not so much the prices.
The mom knowing exactly what to say, and the dad being confused but clearly loving his son to bits. We can sum up his interaction as "I'm confused and couldn't hear you, but of course I'm proud of you son"
Dude I have not laughed this much in so long I love these videos and your mom is such a sweetheart. I love how they wanted you to speak to the cat after each boss for no apparent reason and wanted you to take care of yourself, wholesome folks.
This whole video was just a treat, and bringing your mom into the stream to keep with the guide was incredibly wholesome, especially loved the ending bit, great job Lenny.
I wasn't sure about this channel, but that rubiks cube and the pure, unadulterated joy when he solved that was fantastic. And doing everything by the book, phenomenally done sir
this guide is a piece of art, it brings so many emotions, even goes so far as to gaslight you but in the end it also tries to teach you valuable life lessons, skills and even helps you connect with your loved ones. Truly a masterpiece. Also I appreciate the dedication you put into these, hilarious shit
@@Revalopod true, it's just amazing how low effort IGN guides are compared to fan made. so much is unnecessary filler that's attempting and failing to be funny
kinda gave me a bit of an existential crisis and pretty much drove the final nail into the coffin of my youth. High school me would've seen that joke coming from a mile away.
So to review, this guide: Fixed Lenny's relationship with his parents, has him eating healthy, got his dishes cleaned AND dealt with his anger, had him spend time with his mum (who is lovely lady btw), and helped him solve a rubix cube. This the best guide ever!
Great upload and very funny as always. I think it's worth bearing in mind how difficult the job of guide writer is. They are usually the lowest paid hardest working writers for a service. They had to write this with no other strategy guide, completing the game as quick as possible at or before release to get it out in order to get people's clicks. And to do all that with a dark souls game is huge respect.
I wore a huge grin on my face when your mum came on camera, then again at the end. She's quite entertaining, as are you. These IGN guide videos may be my favorites of yours, so I hope to see more in the future. Keep up the good work.
This is so wholesome. Lenny’s parents sound like lovely people, and yes, I would like Bloodborne Souls 2 please. MIYAZAKI PLEASE MAKE BLOODBORNE 2 I BEG OF YOU
I just randomly stumbled upon this, and oh my god I am dying laughing. When you pulled out the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" question scheme with Sweet Shalquoir had me rolling. I absolutely loved this lol
As much as there is cringe in these old guides , they also have this old school era of gaming that kinda makes them irestaitable ( Also Lenny bringing his mom for the bonfire segment was just wholesome!)
This is brilliant. I also want to applaud the parents. It's too gosh darned cute that the dad texts him how proud he is despite not knowing what's going on.
Regarding the high death counts from the guide: You have to remember that the guy who created the guid didn't have much information and tried basically everything in order to find a good strategy.
Lenny’s mom gotta be the most precious human being on this planet. I dunno why, but the sheer joy i got out of seeing the both of you in dis just melted my heart
not even a minute in, and this video is already so wholesome. i love how excited he is to show everyone his mum !! and it’s so sweet of her to join in. i love this 😭💖
Lenny's mum has been a true highlight of the video, so kind and supportive of her and it was so nice to include her. absolutely lovely woman, 13/10 bet she makes some sweet tea.
I love the algorithm for pitching this at me. Tremendously entertaining, one of the funniest videos I've seen all month. And so wholesome too, what with mum and doing the dishes and everything. When he was running down the street to buy a Rubix cube before the store closed I was almost in tears.
Gosh I love these so much. I agree. I miss old IGN guides. I remember in 5th grade, I would go to school and use the library to print this stuff off (our librarian was a huge gaming nerd, so she didn't mind). I would print off walkthroughs for Majora's Mask, and other nintendo 64 games. It was the best time, honestly.
I've been waiting for this video since the first IGN guide video, what a magical journey it's been. Shout out to your wonderful parents, Dad doesn't know what the hell is going on and the Mom is covering for him and just being supportive.
Oh man when his mom came and started playing I was smilling so hard I legit realised that my cheeks were starting to hurt after some time, that was such a nice and beautful thing to watch. Glad you have a supporting and loving family with you :)
It's funny that you mention that for some people a no adaptability, no lifegem run is normal, because that's exactly what my first experience with the game was. My first ever souls game. It's a miracle I fell in love with the series.
if there going to a guide based challenge for each souls game might as well make a playlist for them cause aint going to lie these are legendary enough to binge watch

Well, in this case, the teacher gets increasingly abusive as time goes on... But still, personality is great!
The IGN team had some harebrained advice for DS1 but they were truly out of pocket for DS2. This is such an amazing format you've created!
Truly we are living in a golden age, he's been making videos all these years and still manages to put out his funniest yet. So proud he just keeps getting better :,)
Lennys mother is an absolute delight, i’d watch her play dark souls tbh
call it lennys mom bloodsouls 2 lets play (for the over 50s)
being honest here, i also always talked to the cat. not just for any reason, but thinking i'd get a side quest reward because she said something new every time.
Lenny's mum is flat out so sweet. She seems lovely to chat with.
If you don't watch any of this video, at least watch 53:03 it's the most important part.
ALSO IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THE FULL 16 HOURS UNEDITED FOOTAGE I'LL BE UPLOADING IT TO MY 2ND CHANNEL "OneLenny" VERY SOON!!!!!!!
I NEED TO GET 1K SUBS ON IT FOR TH-camR PERKS SO PLEASE SUBSCRIBE!!!!!! th-cam.com/channels/l5XEhN0BYkrd7sDuLWFHNw.html

@@michaeldoesthings3665 cheers mike xx
Blood Souls II is a must
You’ll have the entire stream?! Consider me subbed to your second channel
Well, now I know what I will be doing next weekend
I loved when Lenny's dad was absolutely buzzin it was so holsome and then I think we all were absolutely buzzin
after all these years he's still bringing some of the biggest smiles I've had on youtube. also more ZeroMummy or we riot.
@@dishonoredundead how is that related to the original comment?
@@AdminAbuse How do you still have no bitches
@@dishonoredundead Jesse, wtf are you talking about?
@@dishonoredundead Okay Grandad, let’s get you to bed now.
I just saw the thumbnail and I know this is gonna be cursed
Not only was it cursed, but suprisingly wholesome
Also I appreciate the dedication you put into these, hilarious shit
this guide is so bad it feels like it was wrote as a troll
@@vaelxn it has some unironically great advice though
@@Revalopod true, it's just amazing how low effort IGN guides are compared to fan made. so much is unnecessary filler that's attempting and failing to be funny

@@vaelxn well he made it up
The part where Lenny has his mom play the game genuinely warmed my heart, great video.
I could watch this 100 times and never get over how adorable it was seeing Lenny's mum playing the game
I know everybody is talking about his parents but his fashionsouls majorhomo story is truly a tragic backstory.
kinda gave me a bit of an existential crisis and pretty much drove the final nail into the coffin of my youth.
Don't forget improving Lenny's skills by having him beat a boss with a dumb ring out mechanic while blindfolded
And it reminds us why people ironically use impact font
Lenny, nice to see that this guide takes actual steps to help your personal life. Truly you are their baby angel.
I love when Shalquoir said “I’m sure your mother’s still proud” it cut back to your dad being extremely confused instead
I always find it interesting how different the original and SoTFS versions are, especially given DS1’s “remaster”
Lenny's mum is an absolute treat. Such a fantastic and wholesome moment.
Your parents being so supportive of you is just great. I hope they know how many people you make smile everytime you turn on the camera :)
MIYAZAKI PLEASE MAKE BLOODBORNE 2 I BEG OF YOU
Lenny's mom?! Hell ya man get her a TH-cam channel. We DEMAND to see her Broken Sword only DS1
I just randomly stumbled upon this, and oh my god I am dying laughing. When you pulled out the "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" question scheme with Sweet Shalquoir had me rolling. I absolutely loved this lol
that bit with his mother playing was so wholesome and nice, really love to see that kind of stuff
As much as there is cringe in these old guides , they also have this old school era of gaming that kinda makes them irestaitable
( Also Lenny bringing his mom for the bonfire segment was just wholesome!)
I talked to the queen and still got to the final boss wondering who the hell it was
Your mom is an absolute gem man, I am really glad that you both had fun!
This is brilliant. I also want to applaud the parents. It's too gosh darned cute that the dad texts him how proud he is despite not knowing what's going on.
Regarding the high death counts from the guide:
You have to remember that the guy who created the guid didn't have much information and tried basically everything in order to find a good strategy.
Lenny’s mom gotta be the most precious human being on this planet.
I dunno why, but the sheer joy i got out of seeing the both of you in dis just melted my heart
Lenny's mum is my favourite Dark Souls 2 character. Shame she was removed in Scholar.
not even a minute in, and this video is already so wholesome. i love how excited he is to show everyone his mum !! and it’s so sweet of her to join in. i love this 😭💖
Lenny's mum is so wholesome. She'll be puttin this run right there, right on the refrigerator.
Not even 2 minutes in and I'm cackling like a hollow, these guide videos are GOLDEN
Hey man, quick question. What does "cackling like a hollow" mean? Never heard it before now.
I felt the fucking dish break.
Legit cried when Lenny’s mom came in, too wholesome and cute.
5:36 Can we pause for a moment and just recognize how awesome his parents are?
Your mom and dad are the absolute best, hardest I've laughed in a while, well done mate!
Lenny's parents seem so great, they're so lovely
Gosh I love these so much. I agree. I miss old IGN guides. I remember in 5th grade, I would go to school and use the library to print this stuff off (our librarian was a huge gaming nerd, so she didn't mind). I would print off walkthroughs for Majora's Mask, and other nintendo 64 games. It was the best time, honestly.
I've been waiting for this video since the first IGN guide video, what a magical journey it's been.
Shout out to your wonderful parents, Dad doesn't know what the hell is going on and the Mom is covering for him and just being supportive.
you gotta give the game guide maker some credit for sheer perseverance
You have such wholesome parents, those parts were my favorite.
Oh man when his mom came and started playing I was smilling so hard I legit realised that my cheeks were starting to hurt after some time, that was such a nice and beautful thing to watch. Glad you have a supporting and loving family with you :)
Why were your butt cheeks hurting? 😳

Just when I couldn't think the IGN guide series couldn't get better, it ends up beating all expectations. Great vid, and loved the parents cameo!
It's funny that you mention that for some people a no adaptability, no lifegem run is normal, because that's exactly what my first experience with the game was. My first ever souls game. It's a miracle I fell in love with the series.
I freaking love the ign guide series it's so good and this was no exception, great job with this one Steve

if there going to a guide based challenge for each souls game might as well make a playlist for them cause aint going to lie these are legendary enough to binge watch
