One of my all-time favorite actors since his short stint on Mission: IMPOSSIBLE, and a man I have respected as long. He's a good man, someone any woman would be happy to be the object of his eye and heart. I have always thought Katharine Ross is one of the luckiest women. Thank God he became an actor. His dad would be proud of him because he has never compromised himself to follow his dream.
He was excellent in his dark materials the golden compass. As Lee Scorsby. He was also good in Ghost rider . The 1st movie with Nicolas Cage. Has a superb voice for narration to.

Him and Jason Deneen Beghe just has a voice that don't end. Jason Deneen Beghe got his because of an accident he was in. If you don't know who I am talking about please check out Chicago PD. You're 5 million episodes behind but still.
Sam Elliott has epitomized the masculine ideal for a generation of women "of a certain age." I have never met a woman whom, when the name of Sam Elliott was mentioned, did not sigh wistfully with a faraway look in her eye and murmur, "Oh, yes!"
omg YES...haha but then again im prob in that "certain age" group at almost 50. theres just something about that man...the voice alone...add that to the rugged masculinity, kind warm eyes, and as it appears to be a good heart. really not one thing i can pinpoint but rather a combination.

So it was kind of stupid and almost a horrible movie in the end. I mean at the end I remember feeling like they could have done a lot better because it was only 25% to 50% as good as the original.

I love Sam Elliot. He's amazing. What cinched it for me was his character on The Ranch. That show was amazing. The whole cast rocked, but Sam was the backbone of that show. I also loved Tombstone. I'm not a big fan of westerns, but every once in a while, there's one that blows me away.
always had soft spot for sam elliott. voice alone can make one swoon. so unmistakable. may not gave had a ton of roles, but every one he played, he played extremely well. loved him in Roadhouse, ghost rider, tombstone. tombstone had so many excellent actors...every time i think of that movie i hear in my head " well , " I'm your huckleberry." good 'ole "doc." one of the most genius choices of actors for their roles. soon as i saw previews for "1883" and heard that voice i knew it had to be sam elliott! may have to give that show a try now
