These good men from this generation are good solid people who had a well self-developed mind, a person of character. They treated everyone with respect. They had lovely manners, but the bottom line was they had principles and code of conduct that has been lost on the last two generations. I wish you luck.

At the end of the interview he says " i kind of like people to know their not alone" he also says he doesnt like all that negative stuff. At that very moment i was feeling a bit lonely and this interview cheered me up. Thanks Sam

I always knew he was the voice of Smokey. I also knew his birthday was on the same day as Smokey's. But what I didn't know was they were born on the same day.

1993 me and my newlywed were at a hotel in Tucson when the cast of Tombstone was staying there. I didn't get to meet him but during breakfast he was eating next to us and offered to pay for our meal- Mr. Elliot is a true gentlemen
i don't know the man personally..but every character I've seen him play...every interview he gives...just ooozes integrity. A real Man's Man.

What you say is true but it's also an act of becoming a star (which he said that he wanted to be when younger) and a helluva' good living.
There is never a film I have seen with Sam Elliot in it that did not make me feel.......a deep sense of the integrity of this man.That voice, those expressions, that timing....and that humility....just exhilarating to watch and hear.Thx Sam for all you give us :-)

ABSOLUTELY DESERVES AN ACADEMY AWARD! 50 years in that business and he still has a beautiful spirit. My FIRST Sam Elliott move was "LIFE GUARD" I was 12 years old and I thought he was the most beautiful man I ever saw. I am 56 now and I still feel the same way. I wish him all the best.

Cannot imagine what those soldiers thought looking at the beach, know their chance to survive was slim. This was a powerful story, giving a glimpse of what those hero's did for us. Good job to narrator Sam E.

I think his first movie was "Lifeguard" in which he played a sleep-around lifeguard. The one line I remember from him was "teachers make you do it over and over again until you get it right." He did very well in a few "Mission Impossible" TV episodes. He was quite good in "Road House". He seems to love playing the down-home types with character.
Have watched Sam Elliott a long time and have enjoyed every show and movie. I would thank him for all he has done to make us laugh,cry and be surprised in different ways when he shifts the direction of a idea in a movie or show. To make us all know the person he's playing better.

It's his magnetic uplifting personality. He has class, and, very distinct mannerisms. He's a real man. Not too many of them in Hollywood anymore. They just don't make em like that anymore. He's a perfect role model for generations of boys, and men. Not hard to look at either.

His best western has to be "Conagher" where he acts along side of his wife of so many years. This film flew under a lot of people's radar. I actually hope some of you HAVEN"T seen it since I enjoy pleasing and surprising people. It is a must see.

I loved Ms. Ross long before she was ever Mrs. Elliott. I first saw her in Shenandoah when I was 6. Thought that she was the most beautiful woman that I'd ever seen, still do. Then she went and married "my" man. They are my favorite Hollywood couple because they are so un-Hollywood.

Doesn't matter what the movies about, or who's in it with him, Sam Elliott has that line that everyone always remembers. Roadhouse being a prim example. Everyone remembers two things; Swayze ripping that guys treat out and the line "I'll get all the sleep I need when I'm dead".
It's ALWAYS been "Sam Elliot season" for me. Probably my FAVORITE actor.
