India claims that Abhinandan shot down Pakistani F-16 while Pakistan recovered and put on display all the 4 missiles from the wreckage of Abhinandan's MIG-21, meaning that he did not even fire any of his missiles so there is no question of shooting down any jet.
These partially destroyed missiles are still on display in one of the museums of Pakistan Air Force.

There was no 2nd pilot there was only one pilot.
The DG ISPR in a separate press conference explained that the 2 pilot confusion was caused by a duplicate report of WC Abhinadan's capture and sighting because multiple sources were reporting this information.

Why wasn’t Pakistan able to detect and deter the planes from India coming in?
Pakistan was indeed able to detect and deter jets that's why they hastly released their payloads incorrectly and missed their targets and that's bombs fell in an open area in trees.
And another fact is that, on that night Indian Air Force tried to enter Pakistan from 4 different locations but were completely blocked and repelled, they only could manage to slightly penetrate into the Pakistan from Kashmir side air space for 2 minutes or and released their bombs and ran away.
