My favorite karmic moment was the DJ saying it was "blasphemous" that BTS covered a Coldplay song, only to have Coldplay create a collab with BTS and become one of the boys' best friends in the industry.

Another side of the story that you haven't got to see yet is how much appreciation and awareness BTS has towards ARMY. The first song dedicated to the fans (2! 3!) was released in 2016 and according to Suga it was because they felt bad that the fans were suffering alongside them. The fun part is that ARMY has also written songs for BTS. It's all very wholesome, the relationship between BTS and ARMY has always been a two way street built on trust and respect and I hope it continues that way💜

Unfortunately they are not protected from haters even in their own country to this day.The media goes out of their way to make up stories about BTS at the request of other entertainment companies and individuals who want to discredit BTS. The big three companies who control the media (and although HYBE is bigger than all three put together now ) have had a vendetta against them since they debuted. Those two journalists in the video said it They did not play the media game and had to pay the price. Even in the US they do not pay to get radio play for the charts so they don’t get their cut of the profits from them, they really hate that and will sabotage BTS at ever opportunity. The main reason they succeed on the charts is the power of ARMY .

In 2018 BTS exhausted by these problems of humiliation of xenophobia and racism almost separated .... Fortunately it was that year that they received their first big awards at MAMA 2018 ... they talk about it in their acceptance speech and the whole world cries ... This ceremony strengthened the relationship between BTS and ARMYs. Thank you for your sincere reaction !!

Hi Frankie. I'm so glad you watched this. This gives you a little background on why ARMY is so protective of BTS. They have worked so hard, for so long, only to be ridiculed and sabotaged regularly. Even now with all of their success, there are still those that go after them like it's their job. So to this day, we are still defending them at every turn. So when we party with BTS, we party hard. But when we have to fight for BTS, we fight even harder. Thanks for watching this and keep on keeping on. Apobangpo

Hi! Debut army here. They got so much crap, from every angle, for so long, for genuinely everything. Now, I'm quite thankful for those first 2-3 years because it really battle hardened the fandom and made everyone very zealous in terms of giving them support, which went a long way toward giving them that spotlight push to success. But at the time, it was very rough. I'm so grateful to those early k-armys for subbing and uploading everything. The struggle back then was real lol. So proud of our boys and their hard work

Regarding the part about the "copied" schoolboy outfits, there's a video out by the channel Boracity, which goes into detail about how the outfits were actually a part of BTS' whole album/era concept. Their project was centered around the schooltime era of one's life. And the other group that BTS was accused of copying...never once mentioned school in their entire album, as the outfits for them were just visual, and not connected in anyway to their project.

Thanks for reacting to this. Since I discovered them in January 2023 and they announced their hiatus in 2022 I hadn't lived through any of this. But after living through the blatant attacks and media bullying of suga this year I know that most of the mentions in this video were HUGE incidents and much bigger than can be conveyed in a tiny overview video. It definitely doesn't include everything either, as she said it was a small example. I was so appalled by how people are dying to take BTS down and just waiting for any chance to do so even in their own country. It is so shocking. Between racism, xenophobia, and downright jealousy, they can't catch a break. It is a neverending uphill battle.

The two gentleman at around the 29 minute mark were commenting on how the entertainment and media industries are afraid of BTS bc their success despite the lack of power (money) to motivate (bribe) shows that the media industries don't hold as much power as they projected, to make someone an overnight sensation, or to maintain someone's popularity (or perception of popularity). Why is this a kick in the teeth to those industries? BC it means the Media industry can no longer provide as much guarantee of success of an artist, no matter how big the kick back from the entertainment industry. And from the entertainment industry perspective, they no longer have as direct of a road to success to promote a lesser than artist.
The gentleman were speaking favorably about BTS. Also saying that lesser achievements by other idol groups were reported widely in Korea, but when BTS achieves something far greater, it's crickets basically lol.

Thanks for the reaction , I am from South Africa, white 51 year old woman who was only introduced to BTS the beginning of this year , racism is rife throughout the world , and sadly it seems there will never be an end to it , my grandmother raised her children and her grandkids to never see colour or judge others lest you be judged , so when my sister said listen to this group , a Korean boy band lol I was more along the lines of oh what can these young boys possibly teach me , needless to say I fell hard down the rabbit hole ,when I read the lyrics and heard their message I was blown away and love them all but Suga became my bias as I saw what he went through personally in overcoming his mental health issues , as I suffer from depression anxiety and panic disorder , seeing what these young boys / men had to go through it warms my heart that we can be united in this BTS fandom called ARMY, and stand up for them and proudly carry forth their message , lol did not intend to write such a long story , but just want to say thank you for this and Borahae to you and your family 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦

Thank you for your story. My parents raised me the same. I come from a white, southern (Texas) conservative family. I remember one day (1960’s) standing in line at the kids water fountain at JC Penney’s. The adult fountain didn’t have anyone drinking from it, but there was a black lady standing behind me. I remember it so clearly. I said “Ma’am, that fountain is open” and she told me she wasn’t allowed to drink from that fountain. I’m emotional just typing this. As a kid, my innate sense of justice KNEW it was wrong. I asked my mother about it and she explained that it shouldn’t be that way and emphasized that is is wrong to judge people by their race. She told me it was an insult to God because He made all of us. That has stayed with me the rest of my life.

The first thing I noticed when I joined ARMY was how much collective trauma there is within the fandom. Fans can have a very disproportionate knee-jerk reaction to even small amounts of negativity and a lot of that is a trauma response, not that it excuses hate and death threats. Having to watch people you love go through all this is not fun to put it mildly. Quite frankly I didn't know what I was signing up for when getting into BTS. This video only gives you a glimpse of what's going on. The group has a LOT of soft power and that means they have a lot of enemies. Yes there's a lot of people just being racist and hating on them just because but there's also consistent organized effort to tear them apart by rival agencies who've been using every dirty trick in the book. This year has been hell and the boys aren't even active. What's been happening with Suga breaks my heart anew every time I think of it because no amount of lawsuits can undo the damage and the pain caused. I think at this point I just wish them all peace, that's all.

Thank you for this reaction, this is one of the hardest reactions to ever sit through. These boys are so pure, strong and generous. Army went through all this with them and BTS /Army knows they have each other to get through everything. Even the ex CEO stated BTS makes all their decisions with Army in their thoughts because of this bond. You can hear the fans telling the boys they are sorry the concert was cancelled trying to soothe them not rioting because the concert was cancelled. Also when their tour during COVID was cancelled many fans turned around and donated the refunded money back to (mainly covid relief) charities in their name. They really do bring out the best in most of their fanbase that understands, but thier history has also turned us into a bunch of mama bears.(but also given other's a perefect excuse to express their hate in suppossedly righteous anger as name only Armies) The world needs these boys and their message. - BTW you are right in their Cyphers they thank the haters for hating on them and making them even bigger. If you ever want to feel horrible, read the comments under any article by a non kpop news agency (think AP, CNN, etc.) and you'll see the hatred, xenophobia, homophobia of the average non-fan - it's truly awful. Any plans I had to visit are shelved indefinitely unless I am lucky enough to get tickets to a BTS concert in Korea! This video is well made but it's just the visible part of the iceberg. The amount of hate that BTS are receiving compared to other groups is ridiculous and a lot of reactors or new army are obsess about the question : "what has BTS done to deserve all those hates?" . They've always been very humble, down to earth and respectful towards others. But...they succeed by themselves, without the help of the Industry, and more, against this Industry.
Long story short : The "Big 3" are the 3 big entertainment compagnies in South Korea, : JYP , SM Entertainment, YG. They dominated the Kpop industry (Idol system) since 30 years, they have not only the money, but the power and the connection with all the entertainment média, radio (payola system) , and TV show (Kpop is born with TV show, they are very important). Every Kpop group have to work hard to succeed, and Kpop industry is very compétitive, but the groups who belongs to the Big 3 have what is called "the Big 3 privileges" : large media cover, daily radio play, invitation in ALL the TV shows. It's help a lot ! So during years and years, only the Big 3 groups wins awards on Korean or Asian Award Show ... until BTS.
From a business point of view, Koream culture is hierarchal and strict adherence to this hierarchy is mandatory for everyone. For a small unknown company (Big Hit) with ragtag idols (BTS) to dare to compete with the big guns is near blasphemy; so every effort is taken to ensure this system is not disrupted. That's just how things work. BTS and Big Hit was différent since the pre début. They don't have money, they don't have connections, they don't have power. Just their talents and raw potential, their hard word, dédication to their fan base, and ... freedom. Big Hit let the boys have control over music (and it's NOT a common thing in the Kpop industry at all ) , express their opinions, allowed them to talk about issues that many in SK society wouldn't, like mental health, school pressure, disparity in societal classes and so on. This mindset, added to the lack of fund and connections, made them an anomaly in the Kpop Industry. Their authenticity and their passion attracted fans , not only in Korea but worldwide. They begin to grow... so the Big 3, who at first, look down on BTS, tried to buy them, fail and so tried to block BTS from broadcasts and TV promotions. BTS being creative, went around the establishment and develop their own shows, their own media platform ( Weverse) and used youtube to subvert the industry. Which made people in the industry mad so they tried to sabotage them through made up scandals and accusations, with the active help of their own groups fandoms.
BTS went through a lot of hardships, and Army fandom too, (that's why the bond between Army and BTS is so strong) but they succeed way more than anybody can predicted. The American Music Industry was harsh too and try to sabotaged them a (to understand more, I recommend you to check some video essay on Boracity Magazine chanel, she's doing an amazing job !)
Till this day, BTS don't get the media coverage they diserved in their own country, because even if their Compagny Hybe (formely Big Hit) is one of he richest now, the Big 3 still have the power and media connections. And sadly, we just have, in 2024, with MHJ smear campaign, with the Kmédia awful coverage of the "Suga incident", with all the rumors, false accusations, defamations against Hybe and their pilar BTS, a strong reminder that we are still in a battlefield.

These guys are something else though, it's not only about their music but like I said I think in one of my videos, these guys are like finding 7 unicorns!! BTS has really opened up the whole world to Korea.Remember how there was hatred of Asians in America and Europe, but with the advent of BTS, there is now progress for the better.I know many Asians living in these countries who still say thank you to BTS because they were treated well and asked more deeply about the meaning of Korean words. Before that, people did not know other Korean bands of such a global scale. BTS was the first to accept all the critics and the love of the people of other continents.BTS is loved not only for the music, we love their pure hearts, how wonderful they are behind the stage.Other group fans, you should understand that your 1.2 generation groups were only famous in Korea, but not in America, Australia,Africa, Europe and the CIS countries.BTS are globally famous, even when I went to see the Northern Lights and whales on the boundless ice, BTS music was playing in the cabin.I was really surprised. And everyone was talking only about BTS and didn't know the others. Now, even when BTS serve in the military, they occupy all charts and ratings. The facts are there evidence. The facts are the real proof of your empty words.BTS forever. There is a monument to them on the moon.

I appreciate your passion on the topics that rise from these videos. These are actual social issues, that should be discussed and highlighted in conversation whenever we talk about kpop. It would be wonderful if BTS made it so that other kpop groups didn't have to go through the same treatment they went through. Sadly, very little has changed. Just last spring Stray Kids faced horrific racism at the Met Gala. It's disgusting how comfortable ppl are, talking to other ppl the way SK were spoken to. And that's just the stuff we see. I can't even begin to imagine what's going on behind the scenes.

That burger incident with Jungkook literally scared me for life. Tore my heart out of my chest and made me ugly cry. Jokes on every single person in that video. They could only dream of JK offering them a burger now. But I still to this day want to run to that younger JK and just wrap him in love as he tries to understand the ugliness in this world when he only sees being kind, Btw: Jungkook was underage at that time and He was very shy and introverted and bought the burgers with his own money. I can't imagine, what his parents must have thought while seeing this!! AND People make me sick, when Taehyungs grandmother died, they made memes and jokes about it ?! That is absolutely disgusting, anyone who did that should be ashamed. Even if you don't like BTS, you should never swing so low to the point where you make fun of someone's dead loved one. Imagine if Taehyung was you, the internet was making fun of your dead grandmother! And they threaten to kill him!! They also were told because the cameras we're not on they would not be paid. I always felt 18 was too early for RM to be dealing with all the death threats hate campaigns etc. He is an overly responsible person who felt the need to protect the team. The members have said RM never relaxed. He was always working and looking concerned. I actually thought RM has a mild case of PTSD. That that was responsible for alot of his depression and problems that came to a head in the brilliant RPWP. He has made it clear he became leader because it needed to be done but he's never enjoyed the role. Its still happening to this day. Suga was drinking with friends with a meal. He decided not to drive the short distance home. He remembered he had tossed a small folding mini electric skateboard with a seat into the trunk of his car. He put on a bike helmet and drove home in ghe bike lane until he neared his house mounted the pavement. He decelorated as he turned towards his gate and fell off in the eyesight of 3 policemen. He immediately admitted drinking. It turned out as the manufacturer had given the doubtful top speed of 30 miles an hour. He was charged with drunk driving. Normally thats normally a fine. Suga went on line the morning after the night before and apologising for his mistake describing it accurately.. He was crucified for over 3 weeks the police dragged it out. Lies were told. A fake cctv shown. He was villified as a result for drink driving. You cannot drive a mini scooter you ride it. Instead of challenging it on the grounds the motor was not powerful enough to be considered a personal mobility device. Suga admitted fault and accepted his licence removal and fine. He had to make 4 public apologies. It was horrific the way he was vilified. A fake ARMY( they found that out when she tried to raise funds) she had spent all her money hiring vans to circle the office and their homes and those of their families saying Suga had disgraced BTS and should go. She also blanketed outside the Hybe building with giant funeral wreaths saying Suga should go. All the media in Korea and abroad publicised this as being ARMYs doing. That ARMY were divided over Suga. ARMY in response came out in support charting Sugas songs worldwide.

It's really astounding how Korean media tends to downplay BTS' achievements, and report them in as negative a light as possible...But it's because BTS became what they are without playing Korean media's game - without begging for or buying influence with them... And that pisses the media off
It's the same exact game that American radio plays (payola) that BTS refuses to participate in, and is why BTS songs almost never get played (the few exceptions are their all-English songs, "Dynamite" & "Butter")... American radio thinks their listeners are so dumb that we can't appreciate an amazing song that happens to be in another language

I haven't finished watching ur reaction as I write this🤪 XCELESTE was there when I 1st became ARMY and she has some great videos. However, this one is not one of my favorites. At the risk of getting push back from ARMY, SOME of the hardships mentioned are not unique to BTS, western artists. Money and power has always been around and played favorites w/ who they back. I also think there's some context to some situations that is missing so the whole point kinda gets lost on some of the examples. Like I said, XCELESTE is amazing and has been at this Bangtan life for a long time and has held many an ARMY'S hand while guiding us into this amazing chaotic space. And while as ARMY'S we should know where the Tannies came from, what they have endured but not get stuck on the past hurdles, we gotta stay strong and push forward. We are literally in the middle of a tough hurdle that in MY OPINION is just as bad if not worse than the past ones cause they're not here to defend themselves.

ARMYs are definately protective towards BTS and these are just some of the reasons why. It doesn’t give some ARMYs the right to attack other people though. The right way is to educate people if they are saying something we don’t agree with or is not right. As for the hate and attacks you have received, please don’t ever think that true ARMYs are like that. Generally it is the solo fans or toxic shippers that are the most hateful. The thing is that BTS didn't get a big money contract. They signed with a tiny, broke agency and worked day and night for years to succeed. They didn't "sell out" as they were accused because they didn't sell out their art for money, which is what selling out means.
    1) They didn't get a payout for signing. In fact, they were keeping the lights on at their company with crappy jobs like backup dancers at mall fashion shows when their company could barely afford to feed and house them in a crummy, moldy apartment when they were still minors in school. They did not get paid as trainees, nor did they start making any money for themselves after debut for years. Fans would send them food and household items, because we knew how much they were struggling. Jin, the only one from a family of much means, supplemented his brothers' food budget too, from the allowance he got from his family. In no way were they signing on to a "sure thing." There were no guarantees.
    2) They never compromised or lost control of their art. They were still writing, composing and producing themselves and have those credits in every album. They were still telling their own stories, in their own voices and their own style. Mr Bang really took that risk of letting a bunch of kids make these artistic decisions. That was kind of the whole point for him, and he chose them carefully for that reason, and then trusted them with the art. He acted as a mentor, not a gatekeeper. He had a vision for the group, but the guys were always part of every creative decision.
As the final note on that subject - many of those who slung hate at them for signing with Big Hit *ALSO* tried out at Big Hit's rap battle style auditions, or auditioned for other labels, and failed to win a place at a company. They were just straight jealous of their talent.

On thing i don't understand the haters (for any artists in general), if you don't like something, don't listen, don't watch them. Just do what you like. But these haters watch and listen to every single detail sometimes ahead of the fans itself just to find something to criticize.
Are their lives that pathetic that they have nothing good or productive to do?. I think they are more obsessed than the real fans😂.
I always on tt (tt shop usually have cheaper stuff) and i always see hate comment about BTS. The hate so crazy that i blocked those accounts everytime i see it. I don't want to waste my time and energy on them.
Tq for your reaction. As someone from the music industry, i know you would understand.

Thank you, Frankie. Can I just say something about that woman that talked about Jimin's hair color & contacts? Who does she think she is talking about his 'highlights'? I can honestly tell you that natural blondes only stay natural if we lighten our hair. That woman is not a natural blonde. I've held back on saying that for soooo long because I didn't want to sound mean. I know it's a trivial point but she is just awful saying that. I have never understood anyone that's racist, homophobic, etc. We are all individuals contained within the human race. Each is different because of who they are on the inside, not the outside. Thank you for letting me rant lol. Much love to Bongo! 💜💜💜

BTS deserves all the fame they have received. Looking forward to J Hope's return from the military in 32 days.

Not sure whether I could join the live premiere as I have an appointment soon after, but thanks for your interest in BTS’ story. In case you are interested, I recommend watching The Rise of Bangtan fan-made series. It follows the boys from their pre-debut and gives some perspective of how the industry operates in general (but in BTS case, they have chosen a different path to follow that helped they to outgrow the K-pop industry and enter international markets). The series goes in chronological order with first 2 episodes covering pre-debut and the debut.
It’s up to you, of course, but since you decided to go through chronological order you might be interested to hear boys’ thoughts they shared on livestreams when each of their albums was out.
    Have a lovely Sunday ☀️

It still continues. The us industry has done everything possible to keep bts from charting. If they chart, they change the rules immediately. It’s never ending. Armies have a full time job trying to stay abreast of the rule changes so we can stream correctly. We try to do everything by the book. Other artists are farming streams and paying for radio time and playlist positions. Bts does not pay to play.

Bang PD created BTS under his company BigHit. RM was the first member PD signed and made him the group leader. I think that BTS is very unique. As per the video, in Korea they had a hard time because top three K-pop companies rule everything. They faced opposition at home. And actually their global success is what gave them power at home. It's kind of unique and that's why they're so different. They were basically catapulted into success through their hard work and by ARMY. They are very independent in that way. They owe nothing to major companies or media channels. And that's why they always recognize ARMY so much.
They are extremely talented each and every one of them. Enjoy he music and their incomparable spirit! They bring joy to the world like nothing I've ever seen.
And they're not really part of the Kpop industry. They are BTS industry. Period. 💜

Thank you for watching this video - it is a hard one to watch. Real Army and genuine people know who BTS are and their drive for success while remaining humble. It hurts to see and listen to the accusations and myself being a minority I can relate to not being considered a “genuine” person. I am full Native American and I love how BTS follow their heritage and teachings - huge kudos to their parents to instill this in them. I look forward to the day when everyone will realize that BTS and Army are so united and just spread truth and love. I am a 65 yo Grandmother and I want to see that day! Thank you for each of your videos and I look forward to your insight into a craft you know so well - it is greatly appreciated! 💜🎶🫶🏽🎵

Poor Taehyung. He lost his grandma who was like his mother, because his grandparents raised him, when he was still a teenager and while overseas on tour when he could not even be at her memorial. He also lost multiple friends in a short time to S******. When he spoke to ARMYs about it because we could see his grief and had been asking him if he was ok - he got a massive viral hate train with innumerable death threats from BTS antis and haters and enemies, claimimg he was using his tragedies for attention. He had a really rough time for a few years. He grew quieter and more reflective after that, less spontaneous and bold and rowdy. I really think it left him with a lot of trauma.

It was never easy for them. They started very young and having RM as leader, with all his coherence and sensibility, and Bang Si-hyuk (lyricist, composer, producer and executive) as CEO, made a lot of difference.
It was precisely the difficulties and injustices and so many barriers that made them create a strong bond with the fandon from an early age.
Exposing their moments, birthdays, rehearsals, ideas, with sincerity, turned their trajectory into a great reality show, making us feel intimate with them.
They didn't even hide their fights:
    - Jin and V's famous fight - th-cam.com/video/qjDUk5EBf5k/w-d-xo.html ;
    - JK and J Hope over fruit: th-cam.com/video/IZTeOkWbxEg/w-d-xo.html, etc),
    - Jimin and V's fight over cupcakes:
    th-cam.com/video/ERljpio0fTU/w-d-xo.html
    - and many more.
The fandom grew organically and loves and protects them. And it's beautiful that they recognize this and work harder to please the Army than the "industry".

Recommend you react to a couple of BTS Introduction vids that will explain the important to know creation of BTS, & more, also delving into the discography as well as their journey. Will answer a lot of your questions:
❣The Most Beautiful Life Goes on: A story of BTS by Rice Squad is the one that is a bit longer, around 40 min. First talks about how each member of BTS was chosen in order, then talks about their growth, all their achievements, success, all their awards, also their discography.
❣This is BTS: BTS Introduction by xCeleste. Talks about BTS as a whole from their very start as well as their growth, also the deeper meaning to what their name stands for, also what sets them apart and so much more. It’s only around 15 min long. It will blow you away how huge they’ve become! And mind you this vid was made 3 yrs ago, they’re even bigger now. I know you’ll enjoy both, as well as get a way bigger grasp on who BTS is, why they’re so special and what sets them apart from any other Kpop group! To the point that many army, many don’t really care for “Kpop” just BTS because they are not the same as others. I’ll try to leave links in reply. 👍🙏😅❤‍🔥😍🤩🌟✨

Every time I see this video and am reminded of all the BS they have been through and continue to deal with, even while they are serving in the military. Thank you for loving and respecting all artists regardless of where they may be from or the color of their skin. It is clear by the emotion in your voice that you have dealt with yourself and understand the racist BS. It’s not fair for anyone to be treated any differently because of what they look like.
