      Jason's journey to sobriety is what triggered mine. 10 years from heroin this may! Same here. Jason especially. Reading Kevin Smiths blogs about trying to help him is what really changed shit for me. Took hours to get thru them all and a lot of tears were shed but for whatever reason it just made me look at shit in a way I never had before. I quit that week after 20+ years of heavy use. I rarely mention it nowadays (to the point where I genuinely don't know what exact year that was....at least 15 years now)
      Kevin seriously saved me as much as he did Jason. Plus he gave me the bonus lesson on what a fuckin real friend should be. Fan of that dude for life.

      "it" doesn't take anything away you do, I'm in sober living in Detroit now, been here since Jan 24th last year, been sober a year now, I've had 3 roommates die of overdose, last guy just last Saturday, we live across from a gas station where they sell drugs BEHIND the glass, yes the cashier sells everything, a van pulls up every few hours and re ups the sellers, it's nuts, but my roommate was being a dick to the seller, going in every 20 min and talking crap so the dealer gave him a hot pack, hot pack being a pack of heroin or crack with fyntenal, I have him 2 doses of narcan and it didn't do anything. Rent here is 250 and it's a regular apt...I get the living room and kitchen, but I'm a truck driver with 2 million safe miles and been making 26 bucks an hour, 7 days a week most weeks and I get double time 52 bucks an hour Sundays, I've saved up 53 grand so far, next week I'm buying a stealth camper van and moving to where I work,,,,it's sad to see ppl die from od but I gotta admit I have no sympathy, I even warned the last 2 guys they sell fyntenal laced drugs but they still buy it,,,they think after being sober a few months they can handle the same amount they used to

      @SR1Records 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@breakingames7772 Respect to you for getting clean! I know you'll stick with it. You made a good point though in your last sentence. A lot of people OD because they quit for a while and then when the relapse then take the same dose that they used to take because they don't realise that their body had been building up a resistance to the drugs. Back when i was smoking weed every day i used to put about a gram in each joint. And while that wouldn't kill me now it fuck me up and i doubt i'd be able to finish it!

      Often times there are many heart breaking things you must confront in order to deal with addiction. It's multitudes of heart breaking moments like this that eventually make people want to change. I was addicted to opiates for almost 10 years. I eventually got clean but relapsed a few weeks out from my 3 year anniversary. I snorted a fake pressed m30 and almost lost my life. I snorted it and fell out while on the phone with my now ex-girlfriend. Thankfully she was smart enough to call an ambulance to my home as I absolutely would have died that night. I haven't used since but it cost me my relationship. When people say addiction will take everything you love from you they're not kidding.

But my mom was more sympathetic cuz she would see that I wasn't making up what I was going through when I would be throwing up shaking and drenched in sweat looking like I was gonna die but that would be like on day 2 without any opiates and it would be a 21 period before I would start feeling normal and could get up and walk around
