    !!!!You say it in the wrong way folk¡¡¡¡¡ I think that your intension was to say that the darker shading is the Nut in the other is the bolt, I realize of that when you speak about the fillets. I´m not a fluent speaker in English but I just want to let you know. Kind regards from the country with great food and women.

      I´m agree with you, according with your data sheet it´s clear enough that if we want to design the internal thread for a nut or the external thread of a bolt the fillet corresponding to each one must be used. I mean if you want to design a nut then use the clearer shading profile which uses the H/12 fillet and in the designing of an external thread of a bolt use the darker shading profile with the H/6 fillet. Thanks for sharing the Machinery's Handbook 27th Edition.

    Great video!! Perfect to understand how to do threads without problems.
    Only one thing for people who watch the video. The first cut operation that it is done should have a different dimension if you want a nut M10 (Nominal Diameter = 10)
    The formula is:
    Hole Diameter = Nominal Diameter - [2*[(3H/4)-(H/8)]]
    With this, the maximium diameter in the nut after doing the thread is 10 mm as it should be.
    Thank you very much for the video, it helped me a lot.

    what exactly are the threads going to do? A 10mm bolt will just slide right through the nut if the minor diameter of the nut is already 10mm.

    Nice videos.
    Can you do one on BSPP threads? I struggle because of the radius on the major "AND" the minor diameters. says the revole cut intersects itself because no space between the profile.

    • @STAiNLESS_CORE
      @STAiNLESS_CORE 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      because the profile is the same width as the pitch, i get a zero geometry error

    minimum internal diameter should smaller than 10mm, this video should be a mistake for nuts m10, but great job. right?

      One more question how to draw special nut M42*1.0 in solidworks 3D and export 2D drawing with marks? just can't find the answer for long.

    • @Xander054
      @Xander054 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      isnt he talking about what would be the tap drill size? Machinists would drill a hole first at 8.5mm for m10 then tap out the thread

    • @Razonics13
      @Razonics13 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xander054 you are correct. I built the nut using a 3D printer and the hole is too big.
      I measured a bolt with calipers and got 8.7mm for the extruded cut; built it again and this time it worked.
      Good catch!

    • @Razonics13
      @Razonics13 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Marios Christodoulou He is right, it’s not jut tolerances. You have to start with smaller hole (less then 10mm) if you want to cut threads for 10mm bolt.
