Ford should never have cancelled the entire panther platform line including the crown Vic, the Grand Marquis, and the Town car.
Police and livery loved those vehicles along with anyone from the general public who had an ounce of common sense and understood what a reliable vehicle was.

I have a 1997 Lincoln town car. Grandpa owned. He was 85 years old. He passed away and i purchased it off his nephew that didn't want it. I did good. Garage kept in the suburbs. He was one of them guys like me .car guy liked to keep his car clean. Never used the car wash. Hand wash only. Im 43 years old and i absolutely love these cars. My mom had one when i waw younger and i loved the way they drive. Mine had 43,000 original miles.

I rented one of these brand new in 1997 to drive up the freeway and back, and the driving experience was unparalleled. I am a DIEHARD, tried and true Cadillac loyalist through and through, but even I had to take my hat off for this one. I remember the cabin being so whisper quiet you could practically hear a hair follicle fall on the seat. Fast-forward to the year 2001, rented another brand new Town Car, and it was exactly the same thing. Lincoln always knew what they were doing with these. Phenomenal American luxury barges they are.

Oh my. I own a 2014 Lincoln MKZ with exactly the same paint color as yours. Mine now has 11,300 miles and is just as clean and beautiful as yours. Granted that mine is not a Town car like yours but mine is just as beautiful. I intend to keep it for as long as I live and I am now 90. Thanks so much for showing us that beautiful vehicle.

You’re right to be honest about any concerns so your customers know they can trust you and there are no surprises. The moment you panned over that hood, some oddness with the hood alignment and spacing was noticeable. Another person could have never mentioned it, or even made their video to avoid it, but you are honest and, instead, explained your entire investigation into it. I think your forthrightness contributes to how much your channel has grown, and rightfully so, as viewers can see you are authentic and can be trusted and believed. People appreciate thorough honesty like yours, plus disclosing things like this helps to also show off your deep knowledge of these vehicles and help others learn these things as well. Kudos to you and thanks for allowing all of us to experience in some way all of these fantastic classic American luxury vehicles!

  • @davidfrania8990

Anthony, you did the right thing in disclosing what information you do have on the car. There is an old axiom I learned from a real estate broker of many years, who always said, "when in doubt, disclose, disclose, disclose!". You can't go wrong with that advice. And you're just the type of businessman I would want to buy from because you are so honest! And I'm sure you learned that from Papa Bear, who was obviously a very good teacher and mentor!

Car's etc. You're obviously happy with the results. So am I! What a gorgeous car. 4.6k miles, I'm up to 146k on my 97. Strange that it doesn't have cup holders in the rear armrest. My 97 does. Gorgeous "new" car! I worked at a L&M dealer in the mid 80s as a porter. I remember test driving all the BIG town cars and continentals that came in off the trailer....those we're the days. The merkur's came out that time, with the goofy double trunk wings...We beat the hell outta those things especially the turbo cars. Lol. I think something fell on top of that car at the dealer....I remember one car fell off a lift once....fell forward. Good for you stating that something did in fact happen...most dealers wouldn't say jack...

Hi Anthony! I wish you will read my comment here. Your videos really give me emotions, i wish to own such a car much more then any brand new car you can name. It's spectacular, a proper car. They knew how to build cars back then. Nowadays are made just to bring profit at sale and all the time after.
I was born in 85 in communist Romania and you could see only Dacia, car made under patent of Renault 12 with no options at all for the Romania market as communist policy imposed. Just a few options for export only with slightly improvement. To mention just quickly that had no heating for the winter or a such small heating radiator that was not sufficient to defrost the windscreen. Some cars came with driver side mirror only, manually adjusted. Looking at your videos make me imagine a lot of things. Hope one day i will get the chance to drive a car like this.
    Best regards from Romania.

I can see why you would deal in these Lincolns. They were mechanically excellent, fit and finish was good and ride like your couch going down the road. Extra bonus is that were generally owned by the more mature crowd that did the maintenance and drove them sparingly. Low mileage is not uncommon. When I was a dealer, these cars regardless of age were an easy sale to.......the next generation of the mature crowd.

When I worked at a car dealership I had the responsibility of signing for vehicles being delivered and yes writing up damage claims. I saw some pretty interesting things in my time. I also saw some dealership demos that got banged up or totalled.

Do the ball joints squeeze when you turn the wheel left or right?

That is a spectacular example, probably damaged during transport to the dealer, I wouldn’t be afraid of that at all. Again I wish I had the money to buy it but I think that about most of your cars.

i wouldn't be surprised if it was damaged by the transport truck, maybe a car over it fell down and got the front end just a bit. Since it looks like Ford/Lincoln fixed it right away maybe and offered the deal with a rebate. Like you said, who knows but the person who bought it, unless the dealer is still in business and someone there could fill in the blanks. Still, it's a nice BIG town car that looks like new. If I had a garage for it.......

I'm Gonna Guess it was the Lot Boy that caused Front End Damage was Same Lot Boy that Put the Dealer Sticker above Trunk Lock.

Love the car. However I currently have a1989 signature town car with 46,000 miles. Looks new. I don't need 2. Would you be interested in a trade?
