      OMG~ I LOVE THOSE LIGHTENING ROD SAND SCULPTURES~ They are So cool! I'd love to try doing that, and add colored pieces of glass into the sand to see if they'd melt/meld into the natural creation. For now I'll stick to less dangerous, Indoor activities.

    Absolutely beautiful!! If the contact paper gives u too much trouble u could try using a clear shower curtain liner. It's thinner then a regular shower curtain and drapes nicely and I can get multiple uses out of it as long as you don't move my resin around with something that will scratch it. I made that mistake the first time. And is cheaper for me then ziploc bags. Hope this helps.

    Ho Jules, this is beautiful! I'm new to this type of resining and want to ask you if you put a very, very thin layer of cooking oil or silicone oil, spread with a tissue or something, onto the plastic before pouring would it help to get the plastic off easier? Thanks xx

    • @JulesMadisonArtByDesign
      @JulesMadisonArtByDesign  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely no silicone or oil near resin - resin resists these materials - it wouldn't work. Use a material that resin doesn't stick to (check out my video #50) Good luck 🌸

    Here try this trick with resin like i did some years ago cut off all the rock hard drips that have set hard under any table top that have not been sanded down and collect them all in something but cutting them off with a pair of pliers and then mix up some resin and tip all of the hard resin droplets in a cup and then mix up some more fresh resin and then tip the whole lot through a metal kitchen sive that is old of course then you are left with a load of diamonds by letting the fresh resin not fuse in one whole solid lump then once set hard after 24 hours drill small holes with a dremel and then place small 3 millimetre different colour lights in the heap of resin that will look like a flashing treasure chest full of coloured stones like diamonds and rubies and emeralds and safiers

  • @therealityartist9057
    @therealityartist9057 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I am a expert with resin and I make things to reality just as I see them and look at them and a whizzed with the stuff and can make it do anything for me but I have to be honest and say this is absolutely amazing and I am very impressed with your work i don't use plastic because I know how difficult it is to struggle getting off the resin so whenever I make any sculptures I use a combination of clay first then cover the whole thing in liquid latex to make a rubber mould because resin will not stick to rubber and I have made a realistic tsunami that looks exactly like the real thing as if a huge wave is heading for the bathroom window still i can give you plenty of tips if you ever need any and I also use blue LED lights and solder them myself because blue LED lights works really well with blue colour resin pigments and will look amazing inside your sculpture at night in the darkness with the lights turned off around the house and I just made my first ever luminous ultraviolet Egyptian pyramid that glows all night long until morning

    I think the key is to know your resin and when to mold it over your vessel. I find if you wait too long it is too hard to drape it without securing it with tape or something else. If you drape it too soon it drips quite a lot and makes a mess at the bottom (which will become the top) of your vase. I also think that some plastics are too firm to drape well. Finding that happy medium of plastic is very important, too. If the plastic is too flimsy it really sticks to itself a lot. Trial and error. If you change the brand of resin, you have to start the process all over again to know the curing time/ process.
