Top tier band. Nice review.
Yes!! Thank you!
Nice vid!
Would I call Be'lakor progressive? For sure. Whenever I get to the end of one of their songs, I always have to think back on what I listened to. It's always as if I'm taken on a trip and end up somewhere else. By Moon and Star is such an adventure, for example.
Countless Skies is "The Song".
Perhaps the most meaningful melodeath songs for me come from this band. I first heard them about 12 years ago. I still hope they come to Mexico one day*.
*It happened with Insomnium in 2019, and they are back this year in a few months.
My favourite melodeath band! so underrated! I have also seen them live twice and they were incredible both times.
Absolutely love Be'lakor. Stone's Reach is my favorite album [probably because it was my first]. I heard the song 'Aspect' and fell in love, haha. I personally keep them in the MeloDeath versus Progressive sub-genre, but I feel there are reasonable arguments to be made for either category. Great video!
I like them very much, Stone's Reach was the first album I heard from them and I became hooked at once...I have heard all their albums a lot of times already, Stone's Reach and Vessels are my favorites
Cool name, awesome band, one of my favorites. I recently introduced a friend of mine to Be'lakor, a couple days later he ordered their entire discography.
I think they have just the right amount of progressive elements. 70/30 melodeath/prog.
Great video tho!
I really love their discography, in my opinion, it is the best melodic death metal band
I'd say that over the years they incorporated more progressive metal elements in their music, especially with Coherence
Stone's Reach and Of Breath and Bone are both a 10/10 for me, perfect albums no skips
Definitely. Of Breath and Bone is an album that I never skip a track.
Belakor rules... unholy gretings from POland arrgghhh !!!!!
These folks are not only talented musicians but also genuinely nice human beings. I once asked Shaun about the guitar tuning for one of their songs, and he patiently explained it to me while we chatted on Facebook.
I just discovered that Be'lakor is an amazing companion for my joggings/runnings. Especially the songs on Of Breath And Bone, they're such energy boosters. ♥
Thank you!
Do Xanthochroid please
In parting, Venator
They are definitely progressive metal. Great band!
Progressive DEATH metal...Dream Theater is progressive metal, Be'lakor is progressive/melodic death metal
Great review of Belakor
I discovered Belakor back in 2004 when I found them on MySpace and they had just 500 followers, Now they are a big success
These guys are awesome and fantastic musicians \m/ \m/. ( one massive Irish Fan)
I didnt know them but thats a pretty good mix between prog and deathmetal. They actually sound like a mix of 2 pretty good german bands. On the deathmetal side it is Disbelief. It is one of those bands that were highly influenced by neurosis. The singer sounds really similar.
On the prog side it is Disilliusion.
They are incredible and each album they made is pretty unique.
The album "back to the times of splendor" has a lot of symphonic elements and it turned 20 years old this year.
I highly highly recommend to check them out :)
Thank you! I will!
I just label them as melodic metal since finding them back in '04.. They are one of my absolute favorite bands. Certainly can't say that I could rank any band higher. They are only the second band to give me chills the first time I ever heard them (Nightwish w/ Tarja being the other). The flow of Be'lakor's songs--it's so seamless--it's like your riding on an emotional roller coaster of sound waves.
Yes I think they're Melo/Prog Death Metal, I have listened Be'lakor since 2012 and I've never stopped. This is one my favorites bands, their album Of Breath And Bones it's my fav but besides that, the whole discography is such a masterpiece. These guys don't have a bad song.
I love these guys. Never seem to get tired of them. I'm with you also, Coherence is my favorite record from them
I think they can be called prog, yeah. Most of their tracks don't even have a chorus, right? Maybe you disagree due to their mostly even time signatures with only some parts inbetween where they switch up
are you Greek????????
Yes!
Great video Jo.
Try DUSKMOURN from USA too, great band.
Cheers from Holland
Its by far the best band in terms of average quality of their music. nothing bad, and loads of my top songs of all. its the closest thing to what i would love my own band to sound like. music representing me more than anything. mostly instrumental and using lyrics as deep poetry while still being mostly an instrument itself. the lyrics and lyric videos are some of the best part once you open up for that aspect by understanding what is being said.
my favorite non-Amon amarth melodeath \m/
🫀
Great review, thanks !
Thanks J.
You are welcome.
Really good Video 🤘
Thanks!
this band is so underrated
I wouldnt call them prog, althought they have perfected the melodic death metal sound in their own way and pushed its boundaries for sure! A band that has touched my soul, have they ever come to play in Greece?
No unfortunately! Hopefully I’ll catch them somewhere in Europe!
@@JoWinters I hope for both outcomes, they are god tier live performers!

I’m Greek!
@@JoWinters I thought that you were a Russian girl, your accent is very similar to Russian
