I love this version of Darkness Falls. While the original sounded like it would play as the Roaring was about to happen, this version feels like the cold aftermath. (Or at least the first half sounds like it.) Imagine you're a surviving lightner only a few minutes after the impending chaos. You managed to hide before anything could attack you, and now you decide to get out and see if anything else happened. It's too dark to see anything, and it's cold enough to make you start shivering. You bump into everything in the place you were, it's all covered by the darkness. All you can see are the faint lights from the other lightners, who couldn't hide from the beasts. Some of them, you used to know. You want to cry, but you're afraid they can hear you, so you cover your mouth while you weep. The only strong lights are from the eyes of the Titans, looming in the distance as they cast a shadow over the world. You're alone, in a dark, cold and dead land where horrid beasts roam, and the faint courage you had to keep going in your life, has faded into despair. After a few more minutes, you finally decide that nothing matters anymore. There is no one to be with, nothing to gain, nothing to lose, and nothing to care about anymore. You yell to the Titans, hoping that they hear, and release you from your mortal turmoil.
This is sad, this is really VERY sad You know, I've never been game over in deltarune, but after listening to this song so much on TH-cam I can imagine Susie as that last survivor you described. Since kris would be the one who ended up dead since he is the main one and he is the one with the soul and ralsei and all the others darkners would turn to stone and the lightners in the upper world are in eternal darkness Besides, Susie fits the last survivor archetype perfectly.
The atmosphere to this cover is really great. Between the slight-blue lighting being quite reminiscent of the echo flowers in Undertale in their mystery, to the reverb and delay. This is actually the best thing I've had the luxury to experience, possibly this entire week.
It brings back memories, nostalgia... So painful, yet so sweet, and calm. It is the song of a tired soul finally resting. It resonates within my mind and soul. It is the embodiment of silent peace.

this is kris, perched on a mountain, watching as the world crumbles around them. this is them leaning on Susie's shoulder as all their friends crumble into dust, leaving them, the only lightners, wholly and truly alone
I need an explanation, how on earth do you do accidentals? I've been trying to figure this out because as far as I can tell all the white squares are within the the key that you're playing in and there aren't enough circle keys to be able to cover the range so how on earth are you able to have a chromatic range? I need an answer!!! (FYI I've just been binging your songs for like the last hour so it isn't exclusive to this song)
The default layout look like this : imgur.com/a/hiyjT0j In some of my earlier cover I did experiment with different layout but now I mostly use this one, except the right column's (C4 to C6 on the schema) pads are 1 octave lower. My use of the circle keys did vary a lot, and it's a bit more complex to explain my current setup !
I loved the original OST, but this just sounds astronomical. I may be two years late, but this is truly the best cover or remix I've heard on youtube.
