  • This is a 70W Philips SGS 101 Malaga (Streetfighter) SON HPS sodium street light lantern. I received it recently, and in this video I show it warming up! This lantern uses a Zodion SS6 photocell and will not be restored, just cleaned up. I received it from eBay, a worthwhile purchase!
If you're new here, and don't know who I am, here's a short introduction: Hi there! I am Leo, a street light collector based in the midlands, United Kingdom. I collect and restore street lanterns and show off my collection in my informative videos! I aim to introduce more people to the very rare hobby of streetlight collecting as it is a very interesting and unique hobby. What you find here is unique content that can not be found anywhere else so stay tuned. In videos I also show off my collection of street lamp fixtures.

These are pretty common in Poland, and in fact, I have one right outside my house attached on to a pole

Double check the cell socket, you might find a compass date mark, and what are the letters and numbers on the top-right of the sticker (if it remains)? It should be in the lamp compartment.

I double checked, theres no compass date mark, the sticker also isn't there anymore, its a shame I may never know when this lantern was in service/made

There might be a compass on the rim of the bowl, and there might be a table under the capacitor, but I don't know how to decode that one. If not then it may have to be origin unknown.
EDIT: also look at the bowl clips!

@@George_M55729 had a look, nothing, there is the remnants of a sticker in the gear compartment but its just the back of it so theres no writing on it

Not a sticker, the table would be imprinted on the molding. There may also be one above the reflector. And did you see the edit?
