There’s this one very strange glitch in the game that can be accessed at any point in time and on any version even og DS1. So first you make your way through the Catacombs until you reach the bottom, once you get there go past the bone wheels and towards through the fog gate, after a while you’ll reach a room where the game completely glitches out and there’s a cutscene and a boss healthbar for a clearly generic enemy, seriously how haven’t they patched this out yet???
And after you beat it the lighting in the next area is completely bugged out for half the level, with the other half having a few giant skellies and then 5 of the same enemy that glitched out the game right in front of the boss fog. There's also some mini skellies that completely block movement in a pool of water, and if you haven't placed the lord vessel yet, you're stuck in the half of the level with broken lighting. Honestly, this glitch is almost as bad as the hitboxes on BoC's arms...
"Discovering" a glitch by yourself is always such a fun surprise. Even if it's a commonly known one but you didn't learn of it from watching or reading about it. It happened to me with the Centipede Demon. :)
When I was fighting ornstein and smough and I wanted to test if they could attack that archer through the fog, I brought him up there and ornstein didn’t attack through the fog gate so I Perried the dude, I then phased through the fog and triggered the Boss fight from outside the arena and when I entered again they were frozen and it allowed me to kill one of them for free
My first Centipede Demon attempt, I almost killed it but got grabbed, and I just let go of the mouse/keyboard cause I knew it'll be lethal, but then the boss instantly disappeared, the victory overlay popped up, and I was teleported to the ground with 10% HP. I thought I got stupidly lucky with a glitch, but now I know it just wanted me to suffer in Izalith.
For the soul dupe glitch, it’s even easier if you put the soul item in the second position as opposed to the first. That way, whenever you successfully create the overlay, you only have to scroll up/down til you hit “use” and don’t need to hit anything diagonal to land on the “default” button. Works way easier using the same exploit, give it a try and watch the farming days leave for good
I just tried this and all it did was was confirm the brightness. I’ve been tryna do this glitch for like 45 min now and nothings working. I’ve exploited every glitch in every other game but i swear they patched it or y’all suck at explaining.
Like it even gets to the part where it says use item specify quantity but it stays at one. And yes I’m only trying to duplicate one at a time cuz you can’t have multiple on inventory I’m not dumb but this glitch really doesn’t work anymore unless there’s a step y’all forget to tell me
@@dragonsack7680 alright so this is a month later so I don’t know if you still need help but here’s what I do: First of all, you should have 999 of any item. Use wooden arrows since 999 of them costs like 3k souls. 1. Have soul item in SECOND slot on the item menu in your inventory 2. Move over to the arrow tab, select wooden arrows, select drop, and then press down to get 999 3. Just exit out of the drop menu and then go over to settings. Do the same thing he does in the video to get both menus overlapping. Make sure you’re not pressing both buttons at the same time. There’s a very slight delay between pressing X and RB (PlayStation controls). If you get it wrong, just go back to the settings tab and try again. 4. Once you see the overlapping text, Go down and press OK on the brightness settings screen. Scroll down to quit game and click on it. The use item menu should then pop up, you can press down to get 999, and then confirm it.
4:30 this actually *isn't* a remaster exclusive glitch, but the setup for making it work in the original game was beyond difficult. In the original, the equip load you needed was between 25% and 25%, at a very specific decimal value. This can be achieved through specific leveling and equipment, but it's so, *so* much easier on DSR. And for seemingly no real reason, too.
@@Dastardly_Duo Yes! It's a very specific decimal between 25% and 25%. Somewhere roughly in the middle but more leaning to one side, iirc. In the original, there was a consistent setup, but it involved being at a specific level of endurance (or whatever stat increases your equip load, I get them confused sometimes cause DS as a series is inconsistent on that lmao) and equipping a few specific pieces of armor, can't recall if they're from the same set or not. With that highly specific loadout that you need to choose, yet again, specifically one class for in order to work (for the endurance level, since speedruns would only benefit from this glitch in any meaningful capacity and leveling to it, whatever the number is, is time they wouldn't have and that I don't think other classes can be at). Needless to say it was very bad and didn't see much practical use lmao.
@@Dastardly_Duo Nope. I'm being technical and somewhat cheeky, but its between 25.00% and 25.99%. The *exact* decimals I can't recall, but it'd be something like 25.47% and 25.68%. Again, those aren't the exact figures, but I think you should get the gist from that.
Here’s a tip, if the soul duping is not working, there is an easier way. Put your item at the second slot of your inventory, then look at the 999 prompt, do the menu overlay, and just press down, then okay, then go down to quit game. If you did it right, pressing quit will show you the use 999 prompt.
@@Bunshee5o you must hit L1 and X at the same time while over screen brightness as it merges the 2 menus also note if you go to quit game moving the cursor up the glitch will not work no idea why
Would this be possible in the Switch version as well, since it runs at the same frame rate as vanilla PTDE? (I mean with the very precise burden percentage)
@@jurdl222I understand this is a bit of a late reply, but I know of at least one setup that works for PTDE and switch. 1) Have a max equip load that is an even number 2) Don't wear the FaP ring 3) Wear the entire tattered armor set (starting set for pyromancer, otherwise found in blighttown swamp) 4) reach exactly 1/4 (25%) of your maximum equip load (by equipping weapons)
I'm not sure who first discovered that particular method, but it wasn't me. I'm sure other setups exist, but I don't know of any. Tattered armor is also especially convenient for pyromancers looking to skip Capra via out of bounds and free their pyromancy trainer early.

The soul duplication glitch. you can actually drop all but one item for both the soul items and the humanity. DO the glitch then pick them up to do it again. You don't have to use them and lose them all. I did it infront of andre so I have my dropped items on screen. then when I did the glitch. picked them back up.
On the PC version of remastered, the item dupe glitch can be performed in a more simple way. Selecting the 999 items still works the same, but instead of the brightness screen, go to game options, and hover over "Quit Game". Use your mouse to select the inventory tab of the menu while simultaneously selecting Quit Game with the controller. You know you have done it correctly when the prompt to leave the game is over the inventory screen. Scroll wheel to the item you want to dupe, and use the mouse to select the item. Once selected, choose the Use Item, and go back to the controller. Press down on the D pad, which should select 999, then use.
What a great video. It feels like a nearly full playthrough because of how it’s structured/recorded, and everything is explained very well. I even learned a couple things I didn’t know (like the existence of a spell-swap in the Japanese release of Demon’s Souls lol). My favorite moment was the transition from the spell-swapping and duplication sections. Keep up the great work, it’s very appreciated!
@@icebrorottenmushroom1817 TBH removing PTDE was a good move, or at least somehow unlisting it. I would be the type to impulse buy Dark Souls, and then I don't know about the actually functional version. Sucks that since I bought DSR in 2018, I can't play Inferno's PVP mod.

About the Soul Duplication glitch: If you have more than one of the item you want to dupe, you can put all of them except one in the Bottomless Box, dupe the one item, pull another one out from the box, and repeat. So if you have 5 Humanities, you can put 4 of them in the box and dupe the one you have 999 times. The Humanities in the box won't be consumed, and rather than all your Humanity becoming soft (like the video states) you can pull them back out and hold on to what you had before, or dupe those as well by just pulling out one and repeating the process. This also works for soul items, I'm just using Humanities as a comparison.
Really great video dude! Some interesting notes/tips for some of these as a speedrunner of the game: - 1:13 for the Sens Gate skip, it's much easier to move in the deathcam if you make use of WASD on keyboard, W to move forwards, A and D to turn while moving (tank controls basically) - at 4:30 you said it's a remaster exclusive glitch, it's actually possible in PTDE but the equip load needed is much much more precise and can only really has decent setups with Pyromancer armour (some memes with floating point numbers, idk how it works exactly) but it'll basically be like 25.0001% equip load basically just barely a midroll - at 7:42 you can actually drop all but 1 of the soul, and then bring up the quantity prompt on the arrows(or buy them so you can dupe later), since the game only stores the latest quantity, it will use 999 as the last thing you opened after dropping the excess souls is the arrows, that'd allow you to do x999 of all 3 of the souls there :)
It gets worse - you can prompt swap dupe the drop command on the last one to place a 999 stack of souls on the ground (glitched stack) for each soul you have if you drop them one at a time, pick up, redrop as a stack. If you have 5 souls you get 999 * 5 souls. Then, if you're patient, you can pick up and redrop the entire stack to create more stacks of 999 up to infinity. Once you've got all the souls on the ground that you could ever want, you can go through and pick them up one at a time and pop them as 999 of themselves. In other words, you can turn a single 200 soul consumable into enough souls to max your character level.
@@DrNinbos sort of. There is a setup for buying a stack of 999 longswords then use the resulting glitched stack to dupe items by dropping -998 from your inventory (you'll have to manually drop them again though as you just picked up 998 and dropped 1).
I dunno if it's a glitch but I remember learning about this really specific jump in the painted world. essentially when you go outside the two story building to where there was a hollow shooting you, you can jump the gap to velka's rapier and skip ever needing to go to the bottom of the well
theres also the one in the painted world where you kill the dragon (whether it be arrows or your choice), go to the end of the bridge and do a jump attack on the sleeping (dragon? idk what it is, looks like a demon chicken) and it goes "WHAT" and stands up like an idiot, letting you walk by to the end of the area and leave the painted world. pretty cool if the bonewheels begin to piss you off.
That phenomenon is actually pretty well understood at this point. What's going on is that the jump attack is triggering a "stagger" in the big dragon butt, but it was never given a stagger animation by Fromsoft, so it just defaults to its standing idle animation as a failsafe to keep the game from crashing. From the Painted World to Lost Izalith, everything about that particular enemy model is so rushed and buggy lmao
Disclaimer: this glitch only works on items with a confirmation screen. There is another item duplication glitch you forgot to add. (This one keeps your item but it's not as crazy as the 999 glitch) 1. Place the item you want to dupe at the top. 2. Make sure your estus is directly under it. 3. Parry an enemy 4. During the riposte open your item menu then use the soul (the confirmation screen will not pop up until the riposte is done) and right after using the soul open the menu again and do the same but with the estus. This will make the game use the soul but consume your estus instead. Keep in mind that it all has to be done during the animation so be quick.
For easier soul duping: 1. Move a soul/humanity to underneath your Estus flask. Make sure your flask is the first item at the top. 2. Tab over to your 999 arrows, select drop selected, tab it to 999, then back out. 3. Go to the settings, then do your double menu glitch. 4. Once successful, select confirm on the brightness. 5. Tab down to quit game. Select it. It will prompt you to use item. 6. Select 999. Then use. Congrats! No messing around with your brightness anymore doing this glitch.
The ornstein and smough 1st phase skip is THE handiest glitch by far. Super Smough is super easy to cheese behind the pillars, I'm scared of the rafters in the painting room more than O & S now.
I had a really weird one happen to me with the Centipede demon @ 4:00. So I believe it was similar to your exploit, only I did not do anything shown in the video. For me, I was fighting the Centipede Demon normally (first playthrough of DSR) by the fog wall entrance and then the Centipede Demon did his usual jumping attack...only for some reason he clipped through the rocks above. He stayed there for a while, moving around and trying to attack before finally disappearing, which I assume is because he fell to his death, which won me the boss fight. So yeah, my first ever time fighting the Centipede Demon resulted in it killing itself in a unique way on accident! Interesting to see there is actually a way to get him to kill himself normally.
I will never cease to be amazed how people find glitches like that soul dupe glitch. Opening the brightness on top of inventory is one thing but then all the manipulation after that is some big brain stuff. The teleport glitch too.
9:33 don’t forget that if you have multiple of the same soul you can drop all of them so that you only pop one great hero soul 999 times not multiple if you have any, you can do the same with humanity.
You can dupe consumables such as soul items, weapon buffables or humanities(even firekeeper souls) by parrying an enemy, then riposteing them and quickly switch menus between drinking estus and using the item. I always use this glitch to speedrun farm the Black Knight Halberd or Greatsword in the very start of the game since the enemies don't respawn. You can get a firekeeper soul in New Londo ruins, walk up to Darkroot garden bonfire and parry the black knight to get 10 humanities this way, giving you extra item discovery. You can even combine this with the sen's fortress skip to get the covetous gold serpent ring to boost your item discovery even more if you want extra item discovery.
Frampt dupe!!! You need frampt to be neutral to you, not angry. Put 1 of the item you want duped in the bottomless box (optional) move darksign to top of menu Parry an enemy (and preferably kill) While in riposte animation, pause>use darksign> say yes> pause again. Keep pause menu open Walk in a straight line (slight angles should be ok) to frampt (no stopping or hard angles) Cancel menu when near frampt whole keeping a continuous movement Talk to frampt, whole he's talking keep moving (I prefer going in a circle) When frampt menu comes up, you can stop moving. Wait a second and the darksign prompt should appear. Pick your item and it will dupe it to 999. My favourite item is Gwyn's soul, it gives most souls for levelling up. Another good choice is humanities or dark bombs This can be paired with the brightness dupe for infinite souls
you can also hover over the quit game option instead beacause that way its easier to see than having the brightness screen same thing just hover over quit game instead and then click inventory at the same time u will have the quit game promt ontop of your inventory screen
@@yasha211 I can't do the soul duplication glitch because I have an older Xbox controller and there's no such thing as down diagonal right. I guess I'll just stick to be summoned by a friend drop item and want to dup delete save from console well still in his game which will kick me to the title screen reload the game item would still be in my inventory via Cloud save but will also be in his inventory works with item on any video game on the Xbox One that has a co-op system the timing for the cloud autosave might be different different depending on the game for Dark Souls 3 for example it's every 3 minutes for Dark Souls remastered it's every time you quit the game properly it's basically the same as backing up your saves on the PC
Your voice really fits these style of videos, keep putting shit like this out and I’m confident you’ll make it BIG (your sub count now is pretty fucking big considering how hard it is to grow on TH-cam but you def have the ability to be massive, whether that’s on TH-cam or some other platform where you ‘commentate’ or whatever) 🖤
Duplicate any consumable item on PC: Talk to Andre, Highlight standard bolts, Press A on controller while clicking the left arrow to navigate to weapons section You should now have to ability to buy a large quantity of battle axes, Highlight ok, but quickly press B, go down twice buy a caestus and walk away. Now you can do the same soul duping prompt swap as in the video without the 999 arrows, and for any item, the difference is you want to drop the item rather than use it. You should be able to drop a negative amount of items and gain that number.
Soul duplication seems to work differently depending on the platform you use. It seems to always be similar but with small differences. On PC the most reliable way to do it is: (This method requires both a controller and a mouse to work) 1. Purchase the 999 arrows and the bottomless box. 2. Place any multiples of souls in the bottomless box so that you only have 1 of the soul or humanity you're duplicating in your bag. 3. Move the soul or humanity to be the 2nd item in your bag. (directly underneath Estus flask) 4. Select drop on the arrows, make it say 999, then hit cancel. 5. Make sure your mouse is pointed up near the top of your screen, off of the menus. (This can be done at any point before step #6) 6. L1/LB over to the settings tab, hover over brightness and hit X/A and R1/RB at the same time so that the glitched menu pops up like in the video. (may take a few tries to get the glitched menu to open) 7. Press down and select Okay. 8. Use your mouse to circle around the menus and hover over Quit Game with it, then circle it back up to hover over the bag icon. (If you hear the sound prompt of hovering over something more than the one time from hovering over quit game you need to restart from step 6) 9. Use your controller to press X/A on Quit Game and use your mouse to left click the bag icon at the same time. 10. A non glitched use item quantity menu will pop up, make it say 999 and select Okay. Notes for using this glitch: Use a controller for everything unless I specifically said to use the mouse like in steps 8 and 9. This glitch uses all of the souls/humanity of the type you're duplicating, so placing any extras in the bottomless box is important if you plan on duping multiple times with the same type of item. Sometimes the game will prevent you from moving items in your bag so you may need to move everything between your Estus and the soul(s)/humanity that you want to dupe into the bottomless box. This does not work with Boss souls or Firekeeper souls, only souls like "Soul of a Hero", "Soul of a Nameless Knight" etc. This is for Remastered not Prepare to Die, there is a similar version for Prepare to Die but I don't remember it off the top of my head.
Some people don’t want Bluepoint to mess with DS1. I just want more Souls games. But I think we can all agree that anything Bluepoint did to DS2 would be an improvement.
@@drakebloodknight7981 I wouldn't really want anyone messing with DS1 either. However, I can agree that they could improve DS2 still (it is still a good game with good concepts). The only thing I want improved for DS1 is cloth physics. That's it.
Dunno if it's been said yet, but on the soul dupe I find it easier to do this: once you hit select and r1 correctly on Brightness and get the double menus, instead of trying to do the down/right thing to get to "Use" on the menu in the background simply hit OK on the brightness menu, then the main menu will be up, next go down to Quit Game and hit select. This will bring up the prompt to select how many souls you want to pop. That seems to save me some do-overs because it works every single time, whereas the down/right thing can screw up occasionally. Just know that if you scroll past Quit Game and it rolls back up to the top of the menu then you'll have to retry, so scroll carefully.
On PC, another way to do the soul dupe (or as I call it, the Use Item Exploit since it works on all consumables) is to instead put the item in the second slot, go to brightness, then press down and confirm. This will bring up the use item menu on top of the options menu. You then use your mouse to carefully move to the exit game button WITHOUT moving the use item menu's selection. If you do by accident, you can just hover over the use item button and try again. Then, DON'T click, but instead press confirm on your controller. It will prompt how many to use, so just use however many you want.
you can also do the prompt swap on PC at least, idk if it works on console, by highlighting quit and using your mouse to click the inventory icon a few frames before pressing A/X on your controller which lets you navigate your inventory and takes up a tiny amount of space vs the brightness menu swap.
In the original Dark Souls, whether you're playing on the Xbox 360 one or the PS3, there was a very easy soul duplication glitch that almost everyone used if you knew about it. But it required 999 arrows to be in your inventory, but you needed Frampt. So by accessing the arrows and making sure you had "copied" the amount of arrows, you had to roll, open menu, open frampts store menu, all at the same time, sell said soul, and as long as you had 1 other soul of the same boss, you cam keep duplicating till your max level. Also worked on titanite slabs and chunks, as well as the blue, red, and white chunks and slabs. Practically, you could dupe anything with frampt. Unlimited Divine Blessings, purging stones, anything really. And you'll gain souls in the process. Still usable today on the Xbox 360 version
It's been a thing for a long time but recently a was adapted to consoles. The original way was PC exculsive cuz with a mouse it's much easier to snap to another screen or item in an inventory. But my best guess on how they found it out would be the same as most glitches like that, just fucking around one day and accidentally finding something.
The soul dupe glitch is easier when you put the soul item in the second slot rather than the top slot. You can simply scroll down one so that both the item is highlighted and “ok” in the brightness menu, then you confirm, scroll down to quit game, which will cycle the background menu back up to use item, and then the quit game prompt will be replaced with the use selected quantity prompt. Thanks for the video btw this is great content.
So I started drs a year ago and did it on my own with no help. I struggled so much with sif, now I’m salty at that cheese hahahaha. Ty for upload, interesting to see what’s possible.
The spell swap glitch can actually be performed without the fall. If you press up on the dpad and L1 simultaneously and r1 frame perfectly afterwards you can force cast a spell meaning you can buff an unbuffable weapon. Most people have the misconception that this only works with 2 catalysts equipped but this only makes the glitch easier to do. You can still do it if timed perfectly with a weapon equipped. I've only managed to do it a small handful of times since I learned of it but if mastered this glitch can be used quite effectively. Although if you can't do it with a weapon equipped due to the difficult timing, you can still utilize it with 2 catalysts to get infinite casts of a spell such as sunlight blade and soothing sunlight for healing purposes.
Good tutorial here. Additionally you can do the dupe glitch with anything like the video says as long as you select it in the screen before trying. I do this with other consumables and select “drop” to view the quantity, then proceed with the instructions. You also don’t have to mash the buttons down/right or down/left simultaneously to get the double menu to work, I just do it once (mash) and then hit down until I see the background menu is highlighted (the use option) and the bottom row of the foreground is highlighted (default/ok row), then I hit right to select “default”. It’s not as fast but also it’s not precise (so it’s easier).
quick tip, you just have to see the prompt for 999 ammo on the soul dupe. so if you buy 999 wooden arrows from the undead merchant in the undead burg you can see the prompt from your inventory and do the glitch anywhere in the game. also, you should drop your souls on the ground so youll only use one at a time. pick up the ones you drop and do the glitch again. edit* this will only cost you 2995 souls which you can easily get from soul duping at the merchant himself
@@blinkq_530 i don’t think it does, but as soon as you reach the endgame you can use a bonfire aesthetic at the bonfire that leads to the giant lord to reset his area and bossfight. There is a new aesthetic in the area for you to pick up, which means you can infinitely fight him which will give you around 500k everytime you beat him. If you are having trouble with the boss, try to stay on the elevated part on the left side and attack his arms after he swings. Should be easy enough. Just dont forget to pick up the bonfire aesthetic and youre good. Edit: the first few times you beat him wont give you as much souls, but the more times you fight him the more souls you get per kill. Im talking about the bonfire that leads to the memory, behind the door locked by the kings ring in the forest of the fallen giants.
@@Doopliss666 Are you using a controller? if not its probably easier that way. If you are, it is tricky but once you get the "down + right/left" for the first time, it becomes easier. Just keep trying and you'll get it eventually.
@@goonished actually I found an easier method. Put the item at the second slot. Not the first. The just go down to quit and the menu loops just right to use the item you want.
8:39 And this is why I always put the generic soul packet in the second item slot of my inventory. I can just hit down on D-pad, then X (or A if you're on XBox), then X again
Everyone’s always complaining about the DS remaster saying that they didn’t fix bugs or update anything or listen to the community etc... But I love that they didn’t change anything. That’s exactly what I wanted. It’s my favorite game and I want it exactly how it is, just looking better and playable on my new console. I think they nailed it. I feel like this is a very unpopular opinion lol
yea because people except a game to be improved through a remaster. If you believe that there are games that are perfect and flawless then ok, but most see games still as flawed pieces of works with their own pros and cons (sometimes there's a ton of pros and sometimes there's a lot of cons). People expect a game to improve technically when its remastered as programming incompetence or limitation isn't part of the experience or the final product that the devs wanted it. it's just something that happens like mistakes you see in pieces of art that the creator didn't catch. now you might think games can be complex pieces of art and that every part of their design follows the principle of chekhov's gun, but most don't and expect technical improvements from a remaster at least
dot I wouldn’t argue that there are any games that are perfect or flawless... But I would argue that they are pieces of art. Art stands on its own ground and should be looked at in the context of its time and place. All pieces of art can be critiqued and have perceived flaws, it doesn’t mean that they need to be “improved on”. You wouldn’t remaster a book or a painting to “improve it”, but you may re-print a book in better condition or repair an old, withered painting... Game remasters are the same. I don’t think the purpose of a remaster is to “improve” on the art piece, I think that’s a very strange definition. I think the purpose is to expose great games to newer generations that would otherwise miss out on great, monumental pieces of art. The goal being to keep the same spirit and ideas of the original but update it for the newer audience... Not “improve it”. If they changed a large amount of features I honestly think that would be a failure.
There's a visual glitch that I stumbled upon at the first bonfire in the Duke's Archives. With the elevator starting at the top of the shaft, pull the lever to bring it down. Immediately run and rest at the bonfire and stand back up. Go walk onto the elevator once the rail opens up. Pull the level to start the elevator going upwards with you on it. If you did the setup right, the prompt to interact with the lever attached to the elevator itself with still be there! Interacting with it again will instantly teleport you to the top of the elevator shaft, standing over what appears to be thin air. Additionally, looking into the room beyond the top of the elevator, you'll see a black void with enemies drifting in space. The game loads the graphics of the enemies ahead of the level, it seems. Walking off the elevator space will instantly load the level textures. After the elevator "catches up" to the top, you can activate the lever to send it back down-- you'll still be able to reactivate it and blip to the bottom, though you won't be able to walk off the platform ahead of time because the elevator rail hitbox will be there until the elevator actually reaches the bottom. If you lure a crystal goblin onto the invisible elevator at the top, then activate the elevator twice to blip down to the bottom, the goblin instantly dies. If you blip back to the top with the corpse on at the bottom, you might see a supersonic spiky blue thing-- and no, I'm not talking about sonic.
9:12 woah... nah...thats too complicated. In my 100% walkthrough I never had to select default. All i did was buy 999 arrows. I entered my inventory, went to arrows. Selected them,. Clicked dropped and went all the way to 999. But i didn't drop them. I exited out, went to brightness settings. Press X and R1 at the same time. Clicked okay when the glitched menu for brightness showed up, went to quit game. And boom. Infinite souls. If you'd like to do the glitch watch my Walkthrough for 100%. I don't speak during it but my explanation with text and a visualization should help Also before doing the glitch if you have more than 1 of a certain type of soul. Drop the rest till u only have 1. Change the order so that its the second item in ur inventory starting from the top. This way you'll have the other souls and humanity
The DSR soul duping is way more effective at geting you tons of souls really fast, but there is a version that works on PTDE and the original version that is slower but technically infinite. You just need a consumable with a confirmation message like a boss soul or a firekeeper's soul. You just need to do an animation that buffers input. The slower the better. It's easiest to learn by getting yourself to the slowest roll so you have the most time to execute the glitch before the animation is over. Roll, and then try to use the consumable on your quick bar, and immediately open your inventory before the confirmation box pops up. If you succeed, you can swap out the item for something infinite like an estus or the darksign. When you exit the inventory, the confirmation box will pop up. Say yes, and you will have the animation of using the item and you will get the effect of the original item, but it will consume whatever item you swapped it for instead. You can do this over and over with the same soul with no fear of accidentally crunching it as long as you swap out the item before you accept the confirmation box. If you don't get the inventory open before the confirmation pops up, you can just say no and try again.
I still find Dark Souls remastered well worth it because I can go through Blighttown at a reasonable frame rate unlike the PS3 version I'm ignoring the fact that this game is on PC because in my opinion Dark Souls was born on consoles and that's where it should be played
there's another soul dupe glitch with boss souls that requires estus, the soul, and a backstab/parry animation. If your character is male, you have to backstab, if female you have to parry/riposte. So you do the animation for backstab/parry and riposte, then during the animation you use the soul in your inventory, then you go back into your inventory and use the estus at the right time, and you will get a prompt for using the soul, but it consumes an estus instead
You can do the backstab as a female characer but it's dodgy on if it will work or not. Also, as a female character, after you parry you have to two-hand your weapon and then riposte. And I prefer to use the silver pendant instead of estus because the pendant is an unlimited use item
Frampt menu dupe is a really cool one. You can dupe covenant items and upgrade materials if you want to try different builds really quickly ♥ in conjunction with the specify quantity glitch is limitless. btw, that specify quantity glitch works on all platforms, right? because the one I used is with the exit menu and click on the inventory, and it is a lot more visible and easy to use and navigate (maybe the one I'm saying is exclusive to pc, idk)
When you dupe your souls or humanity you drop all of em but 1 before you move them to the second slot. Then you dupe and then pick up your other items you dropped. So if you have 5 large souls of brave warriors you drop 4 then dupe the 1 into 999. Then pick up the 4 and dupe those 1 at a time.
Thank you for "defending" DKS:R, while I somewhat agree with the masses that it is a bit underwhelming when it comes to remasters, the fact that I can play my favorite game at 4K/144 fps on PC is amazing. Also the fact that I can finally "enjoy" blighttown at more than 3 frames per minute.
Not sure you even know how FPS works tbh, this game locks the FPS to 60. Regardless of what setting you use in the options. This game is hard-coded to run at 60, and when you fail to meet that it will just slow down or speedup.
@@DigitalVirusX2 My attempts to make you less ignorant about the subject are met with hostility due to pretty basic neutral speech. Sounds about right for the internet.
price killed the remaster. If it was anything between $10-20 or given out for free to people who already own the original, then most people would have been perfectly fine with the game. A cheap and simple upgrade to the original and all for around the same price. The fact that it costs $40 kind of killed it for many.
Here is a cool glitch! 1. Put boneward on top of inventory list. 2. Show the prompt for 999 arrow drop but don’t drop, just press start button or cancel button. 3. Go to an enemy and parry and stab. 4. Quickly use boneward item and then press start and hold start. 5. Before the animation stops and holing the start button, move in continuous directions that aren’t hard. Move smoothly, like in straight line that can curve when needed. Go to a nearby shop and start moving in a smooth circle. 6. While still moving in smooth circle talk to the person and pause while still moving in a smooth circle. Click the buy button, and then stop moving after 2 seconds. 7. A prompt should appear that tells you to use bone. Scroll to the item you want to buy 999 times but make sure you can afford 1 of the item. Then press no on the prompt. It should give you a choice to but how many items of that choice you want. item duplication glitch which requires a blacksmith. 1. I would combine the Glitch above with the glitch here. If you can’t do so, then buy 615 giant armor’s. 2. After doing so, go to Andre, any blacksmith is fine but this glitch relies on weight and the weight of items. The higher the weight you have, the higher the items you can dupe. When you go to Andre, buy the fist weapon. 3. After you bought the fist weapon, drop it on the ground and pick it up 1 or 2 times. It should do nothing. 4. Then drop 23 or or more giant armor’s 5. Then pick up the fist weapon. You should get a high number of the fist weapon. This number is actually a negative number and this is going to help duplicate your items. 6. Go to Andre again, then click on the fist weapon once, it should open a prompt to buy the item. Do not click ok, you can walk away, cancel or press start to close the prompt and walk away if you choose. 7. Put the item at the top of your inventory and do the brightness glitch on it. After you have done so, move left or right depending which column the item is in then press your ok button. Then move your stick down then right and press ok. 8. Move your stick down to shoe a negative number and press ok on drop button. If you want to duplicate more follow up from step 6. It might help if you get rid of your fist weapon first before continuing this glitch. You might just put it in your item box.
There are some missing textures on the bridge of the Taurus Demon boss fight. This can be seen if you angle the camera a certain way. There is also popping/culling that occurs. This is not diminished at all if, for example, running the PS4 version on PS5. There is literally virtually no benefit of playing it on PS5 instead of PS4. Maybe there is a slight difference in loading times? I never noticed.
For anybody on Xbox who wants to soul glitch but can’t do both down and right at the same time, on the brightness slider and menu find one menu with only one item (i suggest using the arrow menu) before going down to switch to default, this will keep the item selection at the top of the menu
So because I haven't seen anyone mention this, here's an easier way to do the item use glitch without having to stay in the brightness menu. Instead of navigating to defaults. Put the item in your second slot or just underneath your Estus press down once after performing the menu glitch and press Ok. This will bring you back to the options menu with the items menu behind it. Press down on your dpad all the way to quit game and select it. The use item prompt will come up and you will no longer have to worry about resetting your brightness to 5 every time. Since I also haven't seen this I will also tell you a simple way to get 99 of any item (minus a select few) in this easy to follow step by step guide. 1. Put all your equipment into the bottomless box. This is important as it makes this much easier to perform, I also recommend getting the lordvessel before doing this to easily warp. 2. Preform the item use glitch with one Soul of Hero and a large soul of a brave warrior (a normal brave warrior is fine as well) 3. Go to the giant blacksmith and purchase *570-71* giant shields so that you go over the maximum weight limit of 10,000 you actually only need 555 to reach it but you must be over it for this to work. 4. Go to either Petrus or Andre and buy either a Talisman or a Ceastus. (570 GS for talisman 571 for Ceastus) 5. Drop your newly acquired equipment onto the ground and attempt to pick it up, you will fail and store a negative value 6. Move to a nearby spot and drop 24 giant shields exactly. 7. Pick up your equipment, it will now have a weight value of over 100. The best way to test this is to equip it and see it in the stats menu. 8. Go back to the merchant and select buy on the item, you do not have to buy it, instead cancel and go back to your menu. 9. Place the desired item you want at the top of your inventory and preform the menu glitch. 10. Select the item then press down once and right to go onto defaults and then press select again bringing up the drop item menu, press down on it and it will be in the negatives. Press select and you now have 99 of that item, there will be a glitched bag on the ground do not worry about that it does nothing. Congratulations you now can dupe whenever you want. Repeat steps 8-10 and you will soon have 99 of all chunks, slabs, souls, whatever, and this will not get you banned. I hope this comment can get some attention and maybe even a pin if it gets noticed by Phobia. Thanks for the good video my dude.
If you're looking for a non-glitch way to get a ton of Souls for that Sunlight Blade Avelyn, you can go into the Painted world and repeatedly kill the Phalax enemy (which with Wrath of the Gods is very easy on base NG as you'll typically only need two casts to clear all of them out with 40 Faith and the Darkmoon Talisman, sadly in NG+ this trick no loger works as the three casts don't seem to be enough to wipe them all out). It isnt quick but it's safe and gets you a lot of Souls without much risk.
You can instead put the soul item on the second item slot, and then you don't have to put so much effort. Once you have the item screen behind the brightness screen, just press down and OK. Then, scroll down (by pressing down, pressing up once to get there won't work) to quit game. Now you can use the 999 soul items.
Couple things, first the soul dupe glitch also works on the quit screen and you can see the menu in the background (works on PC cause you can use the mouse don't know how it works on console) second ptde actually does have the fall damage negation roll it's just much much more precise
hey phobia, very late to this, but there is at 8:50 theres an easier way to do this, its to put the soul you want to use on the second thing, and estus as first, and quit out, it wont quit out, but it will use the 999 souls
That soul dupe glitch is a lot easier when you put the soul item at the second slot from the top, when you get into the brightness menu you literally just press down to get to the OK and click A/X on your controller and then you scroll down to quit game and click A/X again and it will open the use item prompt everytime.

Honestly, this glitch is almost as bad as the hitboxes on BoC's arms...
hehehe.
Pinwheel PINWHEEL, how do you do?
Wierd, this glitch is very common in dark souls 2. And it still not patched!
Do you know or have any clips of this? Been searching and cannot find anything.
@@glenaladar Its a joke
"Discovering" a glitch by yourself is always such a fun surprise. Even if it's a commonly known one but you didn't learn of it from watching or reading about it. It happened to me with the Centipede Demon. :)
Happened to me just now, tried doing the item dupe in this video but accidentally softlocked myself in the pause menu lmao
I remember that I was fighting super ornstein and he clipped through the wall and I was confused what happened
And yes I’m only trying to duplicate one at a time cuz you can’t have multiple on inventory I’m not dumb but this glitch really doesn’t work anymore unless there’s a step y’all forget to tell me
@@dragonsack7680 alright so this is a month later so I don’t know if you still need help but here’s what I do:
First of all, you should have 999 of any item. Use wooden arrows since 999 of them costs like 3k souls.
1. Have soul item in SECOND slot on the item menu in your inventory
2. Move over to the arrow tab, select wooden arrows, select drop, and then press down to get 999

25 and 25?
@@JG_Wentworth you mean 25 and 26? Or 24 and 25?
@@Dastardly_Duo Nope. I'm being technical and somewhat cheeky, but its between 25.00% and 25.99%. The *exact* decimals I can't recall, but it'd be something like 25.47% and 25.68%. Again, those aren't the exact figures, but I think you should get the gist from that.
@@JG_Wentworth sorry, I was just being braindead 😂

@@jurdl222 most likely. It may be more precise than you think though. It's a fraction of a fraction
@@jurdl222I understand this is a bit of a late reply, but I know of at least one setup that works for PTDE and switch.

About the Soul Duplication glitch:
If you have more than one of the item you want to dupe, you can put all of them except one in the Bottomless Box, dupe the one item, pull another one out from the box, and repeat.
You could also just drop all but one on the ground too
Really great video dude!
Some interesting notes/tips for some of these as a speedrunner of the game:
- 1:13 for the Sens Gate skip, it's much easier to move in the deathcam if you make use of WASD on keyboard, W to move forwards, A and D to turn while moving (tank controls basically)
- at 4:30 you said it's a remaster exclusive glitch, it's actually possible in PTDE but the equip load needed is much much more precise and can only really has decent setups with Pyromancer armour (some memes with floating point numbers, idk how it works exactly) but it'll basically be like 25.0001% equip load basically just barely a midroll
- at 7:42 you can actually drop all but 1 of the soul, and then bring up the quantity prompt on the arrows(or buy them so you can dupe later), since the game only stores the latest quantity, it will use 999 as the last thing you opened after dropping the excess souls is the arrows, that'd allow you to do x999 of all 3 of the souls there :)
@@zweihanderpancakes1855 This does not actually work. If you "dupe" the drop it still only drops the items you have and not the specified amount.
@@DrNinbos sort of. There is a setup for buying a stack of 999 longswords then use the resulting glitched stack to dupe items by dropping -998 from your inventory (you'll have to manually drop them again though as you just picked up 998 and dropped 1).
I dunno if it's a glitch but I remember learning about this really specific jump in the painted world. essentially when you go outside the two story building to where there was a hollow shooting you, you can jump the gap to velka's rapier and skip ever needing to go to the bottom of the well
That jump is so hard! I remember pulling off only once ever on original Dark Souls back in 2011.
@@PhobiaSoft it's a little easier when you know that you can glance off the crumbled part of the arch and quit out before you land in the courtyard
@@PhobiaSoft I just pulled this off today. I didn't land on the rapier, but the short ledge to the right of it.
theres also the one in the painted world where you kill the dragon (whether it be arrows or your choice), go to the end of the bridge and do a jump attack on the sleeping (dragon? idk what it is, looks like a demon chicken) and it goes "WHAT" and stands up like an idiot, letting you walk by to the end of the area and leave the painted world. pretty cool if the bonewheels begin to piss you off.
(This one keeps your item but it's not as crazy as the 999 glitch)
1. Place the item you want to dupe at the top.
2. Make sure your estus is directly under it.
3. Parry an enemy
This only works in ds ptde. They fixed it in the remastered.
@@kimduong362 no they didn't. I tested and confirmed it still working in remastered.

Can confirm this is the best soul dupe method, I've got a level 170 character an have infinite souls
For easier soul duping:
6. Select 999. Then use. Congrats! No messing around with your brightness anymore doing this glitch.
yeah the version of the glitch shown in the video is suboptimal if you wanna dupe souls often
Didn’t expect so few views on such a quality video, keep going!

That fall damage glitch reminds me of Ocarina of Time where if you roll as land on the ground, it also nullifies fall damage.

Put 1 of the item you want duped in the bottomless box
(optional) move darksign to top of menu
Parry an enemy (and preferably kill)
While in riposte animation, pause>use darksign> say yes> pause again.
Keep pause menu open
Walk in a straight line (slight angles should be ok) to frampt (no stopping or hard angles)
Cancel menu when near frampt whole keeping a continuous movement
Talk to frampt, whole he's talking keep moving (I prefer going in a circle)
When frampt menu comes up, you can stop moving.
Wait a second and the darksign prompt should appear.
Pick your item and it will dupe it to 999.
My favourite item is Gwyn's soul, it gives most souls for levelling up. Another good choice is humanities or dark bombs
This can be paired with the brightness dupe for infinite souls
This is pretty complex, on PC you can just use E and clicking on the menu arrow to prompt swap when feeding him to underflow a box item to 99.
I laughed so hard at the rolling to avoid dying part. The way the camera pans up expecting a death but the character rolls around and survives 😂😂😂😂😂😂

@Rich Riascos excuse me
Duplicate any consumable item on PC:
Talk to Andre,
Highlight standard bolts,
Press A on controller while clicking the left arrow to navigate to weapons section
You should now have to ability to buy a large quantity of battle axes,
Highlight ok, but quickly press B, go down twice buy a caestus and walk away.
Now you can do the same soul duping prompt swap as in the video without the 999 arrows, and for any item, the difference is you want to drop the item rather than use it. You should be able to drop a negative amount of items and gain that number.

But it was patched
@@cster9261 Can confirmed it is not patched. I literally just did it multiple times.
@@cster9261
I'm late to the party, but no, it is certainly not patched.
Soul duplication seems to work differently depending on the platform you use. It seems to always be similar but with small differences.
On PC the most reliable way to do it is:
(This method requires both a controller and a mouse to work)
1. Purchase the 999 arrows and the bottomless box.
2. Place any multiples of souls in the bottomless box so that you only have 1 of the soul or humanity you're duplicating in your bag.
3. Move the soul or humanity to be the 2nd item in your bag. (directly underneath Estus flask)
4. Select drop on the arrows, make it say 999, then hit cancel.
5. Make sure your mouse is pointed up near the top of your screen, off of the menus. (This can be done at any point before step #6)
6. L1/LB over to the settings tab, hover over brightness and hit X/A and R1/RB at the same time so that the glitched menu pops up like in the video. (may take a few tries to get the glitched menu to open)
7. Press down and select Okay.
8. Use your mouse to circle around the menus and hover over Quit Game with it, then circle it back up to hover over the bag icon. (If you hear the sound prompt of hovering over something more than the one time from hovering over quit game you need to restart from step 6)
9. Use your controller to press X/A on Quit Game and use your mouse to left click the bag icon at the same time.
10. A non glitched use item quantity menu will pop up, make it say 999 and select Okay.
Notes for using this glitch:
Use a controller for everything unless I specifically said to use the mouse like in steps 8 and 9.

Yesyesyesyesyes, the most underrated TH-camr on the site
On PC, another way to do the soul dupe (or as I call it, the Use Item Exploit since it works on all consumables) is to instead put the item in the second slot, go to brightness, then press down and confirm. This will bring up the use item menu on top of the options menu. You then use your mouse to carefully move to the exit game button WITHOUT moving the use item menu's selection. If you do by accident, you can just hover over the use item button and try again. Then, DON'T click, but instead press confirm on your controller. It will prompt how many to use, so just use however many you want.
Couldn't get the one in the vid to work, but this did first try, thank you!
on the soul dupe part, change UI to 75% to see what ur doing
you can also do the prompt swap on PC at least, idk if it works on console, by highlighting quit and using your mouse to click the inventory icon a few frames before pressing A/X on your controller which lets you navigate your inventory and takes up a tiny amount of space vs the brightness menu swap.
That Soul Glitch how would you ever find out about that
It's been a thing for a long time but recently a was adapted to consoles.

The glitches in that one are going to be legendary...
I'm planning to start testing the glitches we know of in the PS3 version on day one.
Phobia that’s a brilliant idea!
That crow intro was the coolest transition I've ever seen.

It’s always nice to see your upload’s notification. Great video, Phobia.
@@AmateurishAstronaut fair enough
I don't speak during it but my explanation with text and a visualization should help
Also before doing the glitch if you have more than 1 of a certain type of soul. Drop the rest till u only have 1. Change the order so that its the second item in ur inventory starting from the top. This way you'll have the other souls and humanity
Epic.
*Dark Souls:* _Demastered_
Frampt menu dupe is a really cool one. You can dupe covenant items and upgrade materials if you want to try different builds really quickly ♥ in conjunction with the specify quantity glitch is limitless. btw, that specify quantity glitch works on all platforms, right? because the one I used is with the exit menu and click on the inventory, and it is a lot more visible and easy to use and navigate (maybe the one I'm saying is exclusive to pc, idk)
I can’t pull of the spell swap
Same
When you dupe your souls or humanity you drop all of em but 1 before you move them to the second slot.
This game is hard-coded to run at 60, and when you fail to meet that it will just slow down or speedup.

price killed the remaster.
4. Then drop 23 or or more giant armor’s

For anybody on Xbox who wants to soul glitch but can’t do both down and right at the same time, on the brightness slider and menu find one menu with only one item (i suggest using the arrow menu) before going down to switch to default, this will keep the item selection at the top of the menu
only now seeing the new dupe glitch guess whos reinstalling dark souls remastered rn?
Idk if u will read his butbim getting it on my xbox for the first time soon. The time difference between players is huge now
Nox Gaming you wont regret buying it dude!
You've earned a new sub. Thanks a lot this brought new curiosity to me and my future playthroughs
Agreed, O&S is probably the most over rated Dark Souls Boss
2. Preform the item use glitch with one Soul of Hero and a large soul of a brave warrior (a normal brave warrior is fine as well)
3. Go to the giant blacksmith and purchase *570-71* giant shields so that you go over the maximum weight limit of 10,000 you actually only need 555 to reach it but you must be over it for this to work.
4. Go to either Petrus or Andre and buy either a Talisman or a Ceastus. (570 GS for talisman 571 for Ceastus)
5. Drop your newly acquired equipment onto the ground and attempt to pick it up, you will fail and store a negative value
9:54. There's no DS Remastered on PS3.
8:45 ok, its impossible for me to get to the default button whitout changing everything on the background menu :'(
You can instead put the soul item on the second item slot, and then you don't have to put so much effort.
Getting out of sen's fortress was a fun one ; lots of scaling castle walls , breaking barriers & ending with a satisfying air roll to the bottom
hey phobia, very late to this, but there is at 8:50 theres an easier way to do this, its to put the soul you want to use on the second thing, and estus as first, and quit out, it wont quit out, but it will use the 999 souls
That soul dupe glitch is a lot easier when you put the soul item at the second slot from the top, when you get into the brightness menu you literally just press down to get to the OK and click A/X on your controller and then you scroll down to quit game and click A/X again and it will open the use item prompt everytime.
