Sparks Fly When 'Believer in Yeshua' Confronts Rabbi Tovia Singer!

  • Rabbi Tovia Singer is challenged by a follower of “Yeshua” at public program in Jerusalem. The following were the questions:
    What does the 70 weeks of Daniel 9 really mean? Messianic Jews believe that the 70 weeks of prophecy in the Book of Daniel have been fulfilled in the time of Jesus. Also, does the word "ka'ari" in Psalm 22:16 mean "pierced" or "like a lion? Rabbi Tovia Singer answers the challenge excellently.
    Rabbi Tovia Singer then embarks on an exciting exploration regarding the Septuagint and the misconception of Christians regarding what a Septuagint and its comparison with the KJV really is.

      @stephaniereif7790 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @Kevin Belgrove the original Torah uses יהוה or יי. When we see these letters we say Adonai (lord). The Torah was completed 1,400 years before Jesus. He would have read it, but he was not in it. In a Messianic Bible, not Jewish, and not Torah, Jesus has been added by later Christians. Clearly it is you who want to impose a rewrite. If you are referring to the “orthodox Jewish Bible”, which is neither Jewish nor orthodox, but a messianic evangelical Christian Bible. I have reported it for misrepresentation and a case is in process.

      @Kevin Belgrove Since I’m an ethnic and religious Jew who grew up in Jewish community, raised by a Holocaust survivor, went to Jewish religious school, read and write Hebrew, and you do not, why do you think you’re the expert?. Adonai means lord. It’s a very common way we refer to G-d. Jew in Hebrew is Yehudi because we are from Judaea aka Yehuda.
      Ba’al is בעל. Adonai is אדני. G-d is יהוה Jew/Yehudi is יהודי. Very different words. When we refer to G-d as The Name it is in respect to the 100 names of the Almighty.

      The reason the "rabbi" was acting that way is "yeShua" is Hebrew, it's a sentence, not a Name. When you say "yeShua", your saying "my cry for help ye" and there is no such "ye", "ye" IS NO ONE. "ye" does not exist. That's why.
      Had that man said "YaHuShua", also a Hebrew sentence, it means, "my cry for help is YaH", the "rabbi" couldn't have said a word.

      Was Jesus Jewish? Greco-Roman stories make claim that Jesus parent were both Jewish. Is a person Jewish because their parents are Jewish? Rabbi say no. Jesus quite possibly could have himself been Jewish based on the recounting told by the Roman gospels and the Talmud but no one really knows for a "fact". The stories relate Jesus visiting and worshiping in temple. That is what makes a person Jewish, practicing Judaism, according to Rabbi.

      Hello Goodwin, it's not about religion, it's all about relationship with God. Like Abraham, he believes and trusted God and therefore God loved him and made him righteous, and was like a Friend to him. Later on, God made a covenant with Abraham and with all his descendants. The circumcision was the result. After a while, the grandson of Abraham, Jacob got twelve sons and a daughter. After the time of Josef, they were stuck in Egypt and the people of Israel suffered and God saw this. He thought of his covenant with Abraham and leaded Israel(the twelve tribes/sons of Jacob) out of Egypt. Behind the blood of the lamb, they were safe and were able to leave Egypt. God married them at Sinai and gave them the Torah. The whole people of Israel said "Yes" to all of the conditions. We all know from the prophets that Israel was not able to be faithful and keep the conditions. In Deuteronomy 24 you can read about the conditions of marriage. Once you made fornication and become from another, it is not allowed to married again with your previous husband. According to Jeremiah 3, Israel got a divorce letter from God and got divorced. A very big problem! But there is good news, Jeremiah 31 speaks about the new covenant made with Judah and Israel. How can this happen against His own Torah? If we are honest, it is impossible. Therefore the Messiah needed to come. He came as the Bridegroom(you can read this passage in Mattew 9:15. His Hebrew name is Yeshua. He gave His blood to start the new covenant with His people. He is already 2000 years waiting for His Bride to accept Him. Yahweh came to earth in the Person of the Messiah to restore the covenant with Juda and Israel and made it possible for gentiles to be a part of it. It's not about Christianity, it's not about Judaïsme, it's all about the faithfulness and love of God to us. Therefore I believe that Daniel 9 is all about the Messiah. He was cut off to save you and me. What a grace!!

      @@gertvanvliet7720 hey man, ok, first of all, human sacrifice was strictly forbidden and foreign to the Jewish people. The name Yeshua, the name Christians call Jesus, translated from Hebrew is Joshua, not Jesus. A “father” giving up his son to die is a cruel scenario. And any creator that would consciously send a free will, imperfect creation to a lake of fire for an eternity? Seriously? He knew we would be imperfect and decided on eternally making us suffer in agony forever? That’s Insane. Your God told his people to murder innocent children, animals, slaves because he said so. Who in there right mind would want a God like that? 2 billion Christians apparently. Look at the messiah “prophecies” through the eyes of a Jew. The Isaiah “prophecies” Psalms, etc. totally mistranslated and hijacked by the church. There is no “born of a virgin” there is no “by his stripes we are healed” Isaiah is clearly talking about the nation of Israel, in Isaiah, if you read the entire text. The stories in the Torah have been taken from Sumerian stories 2000 years prior and the proof is in the clay tablets discovered in Iraq decades ago, from the flood, to the creation of man etc. Abraham came out of that area, Ur to be exact, the land of the Chaldeans, which is in modern day Iraq. Brought those stories with him when he left, brought the Sumerian god with him. We have been fed a lie. There is no eternal hell. No son of god that died for sins. The Bible calls us all sons of god. The teachings of Jesus, most are beautiful and mirror the teachings of the Buddha that came 500 years before Jesus. I.E the golden rule etc. If Jesus was real, he was a zealot for the cause of the faith he was reared in. And was put to death for claiming to be king of the Jews, just like the many messiahs before him. If there is one all powerful God, I cannot see It demanding to be worshipped. He wouldn’t say he’s a jealous god, he would never demand his followers to murder women children and animals. If Jesus was “the One” he was a Demi-god, at best, being half human, half divine. Finally, the whole corpus of the Christian relationship, as you call it, is entirely based on the teachings of Paul (who never even met Jesus) and was a self appointed apostle. James the brother of Jesus was appointed by Jesus to lead the sect of believers after Jesus was killed and was even more popular than his brother Jesus. How would Paul know what Jesus wanted more than his own brother! Paul was a fraud and an anti christ of sorts. Anyway, the truth is out there some where but sadly doesn’t lie in the worship of a man-god. It’s just been so ingrained, that we think there is no way it can be a lie, because of 2 billion blind followers. I believe the great delusion in Thessalonians is the church itself. Just look at the disgusting display, of cappuccino machines, tshirt, book sales etc. in the “house of god” the very same people Jesus drove out of his fathers house with a whip. It is no longer a house of prayer but a den of thieves! A true spectacle to watch people walk into the house of god, chewing gum, drinking a latte’ sucking on breath mints, and then leave feeling blessed by god, eat a Sunday dinner at a restaurant and leave a nothing tip for the server. Meanwhile, 10,000 children starved to death today around the world. With all the fucking churches in this country alone, there shouldn’t be one soul that goes to bed hungry, lonely or unloved tonight. It’s disgusting and if Jesus Christ is God, He, no doubt would spew his own church out of his mouth for there own blissful ignorance. It’s truly disgusting. Love is Love! Love is holy. Fear is the opposite of Love, not hate. 2nd chapter of Acts says the the people were filled with fear when the Holy Ghost came upon them. Fear not Love. I’m not attacking you, please understand, this is the frustration of the lies we’ve been fed for generations. Peace

      @@goodwin9522 thanks for your answer. I see that you are really frustrated about my answer. Yes, an human sacrifice is strictly forbidden by law. But why was Abraham caused to sacrifice Isaac? Because God wanted to tell us through that, that He would take the place of the break of the covenant. Do you remember the two pieces of animals when God made the covenant with Abraham. Only God walked through the pieces. He will take the guilty of the break of the covenant. Therefore we know that ישוע/Yeshua is the Messiah and One with Elohim. I am not speaking on behalf of the main Christianity. I am speaking from the Word of God to you. I really agree that the church have took the place of Israel and that is terrible and do what I can to remove the stones from the way. I will never stop preaching that Yeshua is Israels Messiah because there are so much prophesies who are fulfilled in the time of Yeshua. You need to be in the context to understand the teaching of Yeshua and Paul. Paul was not called to start the church but He was called to invite the gentiles in the family of God/Israel. But unfortunately the church became the enemy of Israel and that is all the work of satan and not the work of Yeshua. He was crying when He prophesied about the destruction of the temple and of Jerusalem.
      I have one big request for you, read the New Testament in the spirit of the time. Yeshua was and is a Jewish man and took the guild of breaking the covenant and become the Light for the gentiles.
      “I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles,

Yeshua had peace even on the wood and Paul was praising the Lord even captured in chains. ... The correct Christian calculation of Daniel 9.
    Start = 457 BCE ( The word to "restore and build" in Ezra 7 ) + 490 years = 34 CE
    457 BCE + 483 years = 27 CE, and the beginning of the final week (7 years )
    27 CE - The beginning of the 3.5 year ministry of the "anointed Prince".
    31 CE - The Prince is "cut off"/ crucified ( the temple sacrifices and offerings spiritually ceased, and was left "desolate".)
    34 CE - The end of the final week ( 7 years ). The gospel of the kingdom now goes out to the gentiles. ( Acts 13 : 46 )
    Note: The Talmud even records odd occurrences within the temple for about the last 40 years before it's destruction in 70 CE, signifying that it was already left spiritually "desolate". ( Yoma 39b )
    Daniel 9 : 26 - " Desolation is decreed until the end of the war." = until 70 CE
    - "...Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, saying " THE TIME IS FULFILLED, and the kingdom of God is at hand; REPENT YE and BELIEVE the gospel!" ( Mark 1 : 14 - 15 )
    ( The "time fulfilled" is the 69 weeks/483 years of Daniel's 70 Weeks. Daniel 9 : 24 - 25 )

      Deuteronomy 4:7-8 says it well..
      7. For what great nation is there that has a god so close at hand as is the LORD our God whenever we call upon Him? 8. Or what great nation has laws and rules as perfect as all this Teaching that I set before you this day?
      How do you communicate with your god? And does he talk to you?

      @Sunny Dayz that is similar to us..
      the verse you quoted is Laws we got from other nations when we where either conquer or when we are in the dispporia.. Not any laws G-d gave us.. All His laws are perfect and G-d says it several times.
      G-d has said Deuteronomy 30:11For this commandment that I command you today is not too hard for you, neither is it far off
      And in verse 14 But the word is very near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart, so that you can do it
      Even your NT says in 1 John 5:3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
      If you can’t keep Torah than how did Aaron and Elizabeth do it Luke 1:6 And they were both righteous before God, walking blamelessly in all the commandments and statutes of the Lord.
      Even your Jesus said in Luke 15:7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
      Go and read Ezekiel 40-48 it is all about the messianic age.. the 3rd temple is rebuilt sacrifices, the sabbath and G-do festival are observed throughout the world..
      How could that be if Your Jesus did away with the law?
      Also if Jesus was on earth during Passover your Pagan Easter.. would your Jesus go to your Sunday service than go eat a traditional HAM dinner or would he go to synagogue and observe the Passover meal?

But aside from that I enjoy all myths and stories, including the ones in the abrahimic texts. Moreover Rabbi Tovia is a lot of fun, even if you don't agree with him, and I don't. I read stories about gods and heroes in all traditions and I deeply enjoy them in the same way I enjoy Harry Potter. But that's all there is to it for me.
      That said, if you want to assume you understand what goes on in my head, and attribute my personal enjoyment of a fun video on some unproven supernatural (and also very specific) thing, go ahead, I won't stop you if it makes you feel better. I know you meant it in a good way, wishing I could find what YOU think is good in the universe, and I thank you for that. But keep in mind that the world is diverse and most of the things we believe cannot be proven. So even if it came from a good place, your comment is the equivalent of me saying to you "I hope for your happiness that you free yourself from the mental tyranny that is religion" or a Buddhist saying "I hope you find the truth of the Buddha for your happiness".
      Think about that. Best wishes 🙏🏻

      Why was women, children, elders, handicapped, monks, hermits, the poor, the ill, the insane, slaves, and temporary residents not taxed?
      If it was all about revenue, shouldn't the jizya be implemented at least as high in payment as the zakat (yearly tax of 20% of a Muslim's possessions)?
      Shouldn't the jizya be implemented on all non-Muslims disregarding their status if its sole purpose is revenue?

      @ricardopenamcknight6407 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Kevin Belgrove Harken unto me, my brother in Christ, for you have taken the phrase "in the name of" verily out of context. What does the phrase mean? For instance in the numerous times in the old testament when someone does something "in the name of the lord" or comes "in the name of the lord" or in the new testament when disciples of Jesus heal "in the name of Jesus Christ"?
      You're interpreting "in the name of" to mean that for some reason we need to use exactly the original Aramaic spelling of Jesus' name or else somehow the Bible is being distorted? But that's not what "in the name of" means in context. For instance if I come "in the name of God" to preach the good news it doesn't mean I'm calling myself by the four letter name, but simply that when I come I do so with God's authority as his representative.
      Likewise when Peter acts "in the name" of Jesus Christ he is simply indicating that what miracle he performs is not by his own power but by the power of Jesus Christ.

    • @ricardopenamcknight6407
      @ricardopenamcknight6407 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kevin Belgrove Now do a double take of your quotes. "It is by the name... THAT he is healed."
      "NO OTHER NAME... by which we may be saved."
      They're not talking about his literal first name. They're talking about his power and authority.
      "For what is in a name. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet." - Shakespeare

      @ricardopenamcknight6407 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Kevin Belgrove I see you clearly didn't pay a single lick of attention to what I told you since you're still taking in the name of and by the name of lines super literally to mean you can only use the original spelling.

      @ricardopenamcknight6407 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I really don't understand how anyone can read the Tanakh or the new testament and come away from it with the conclusion that God's really prioritizes how we spell and pronounce his name... which you still have spelled incorrectly anyway. I promise you, sir, it's not Yahua because when it was written down in Hebrew they didn't have written vowels. It's YHVH although in Hebrew words are spelled right to left so rather it is HVHY. Technically that's not even correct because I'm using English letters but you get what I'm saying, hopefully.
      Much love to you brother but you're being a bit silly to have yourself so worked up over this name issue when that has nothing really to do with God's message.
