Many people can’t seem to see the bigger picture. Microsoft doesn’t view Sony as a competitor, Microsoft thinks big and they do way more than just video games. Microsoft is using their vast amounts of wealth and influence to buy out other companies and competition (they also tried to buy Nintendo) which is one of the first steps of becoming a monopoly. I get what your saying, but I do respectfully disagree. The games industry is bigger than its ever been and the tech has gotten so good that it is very easy nowadays to make beautiful games, making fun games is still just as hard as always but I’m very excited for what’s to come in the future for the big names like Microsoft and Sony, as well as indie developers making some unique and fun stuff too. I was honestly expecting Microsoft to buy Ubisoft sometime in the near future but Christ when I heard they bought Activision I shat myself with fear and joy.
I believe this will be a great step forward for call of duty, Microsoft will bring so much more to the universe with their ability for crossovers and events, I can’t wait to see the future of cod and possibly another golden era.
As a PlayStation fan, I’m excited about this news. Microsoft cares about their games and I’m sure they’ll make Activision better. However, I am nervous that Microsoft will throw it to the waist-side like they did with so many studios they own. Sure, MS owns so many studios and IPS, but so many IPS have been forgotten in the mass of everything else they own. Fingers crossed, though.
@@Mayro_69 that would be bad, which is why I don’t think it’s very smart for them to do so. Gaming is becoming more inclusive and developers are more inclined to share their games. Five years ago, nobody would expect exclusives like God of War and Uncharted would be playable on anything that isn’t the PlayStation, but with competition diminishing between Sony and MS the lines of exclusivity are blurring. Microsoft owned games like Cuphead and Psychonauts are on PlayStation and Sony owned games like MLB The Show and Death Stranding are on XBOX. Both companies earn twice as much by letting both consoles purchase the games they own, so they have to pick between good business decisions or good fan decisions, and we all know how much companies care about their consumers.
@@ifyouusedarkmodeimjohncena7189 I’m sure they’ll dissolve Activision as a company but still use it’s name, and they’ll take the role Activision had. What should be hoped for is Microsoft giving Treyarch, Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer more creative freedom.

This purchase might be good for Activision and Call of Duty. As recently their games haven't really been that amazing and underwhelming, still good games; just rushed and not much love, effort or even logic is put into it. Hopefully under Microsoft, all of these issues will be fixed; and we can get the Call of Duty games we grew up with and loved.
I will say Microsoft keeping most games Universal is a very epic move because it still gives them revenue and it means more people can play their games on different consoles etc
I think the improvements Phil Spencer has made to the Xbox franchise have been really good and I definitely trust that he's going to try his best to improve upon Activision.
Well it's kind of interesting when you think about how a lot of game franchises aren't really competing with each other now. Sure, to get the most money out of Microsoft, yes. But company wars? No And now they basically have the Playstation on Life Support essentially.
Microsoft paid more for Activision-Blizzard than the entire market capitalization of Nintendo 🤯 Also, this is great news imo Microsoft has a history of buying studios and whipping them up into shape. Keep in mind Phil Spencer is going to be in command and in full control of Activision Blizzard. Here’s a quote from him I found to be good news: “As a company, Microsoft is committed to our journey for inclusion in every aspect of gaming, among both employees and players. We deeply value individual studio cultures. We also believe that creative success and autonomy go hand-in-hand with treating every person with dignity and respect. We hold all teams, and all leaders, to this commitment. We’re looking forward to extending our culture of proactive inclusion to the great teams across Activision Blizzard.”

Sony needs to take this very seriously. The console war isn't in their favor anymore, Nintendo saw it coming that's why they have been so friendly with Microsoft for the past few years. I'm very interested in seeing how this plays out weather its good or bad for companies like Blizzard or not. We can only hope for the moment.
Sure the quality of the games they watch over may be better after this BUT most importantly the developers and employees will be treated better for years to come now because Microsoft is the new owner and all eyes will be on them. Big win for the games quality Bigger win for the game developers
One thing Microsoft could do is make COD available day one on game pass but not available on Sony's game pass alternative. You know it won't be XB exclusive but this would keep sales up.
The good thing about this is that if Microsoft continues on this path, you will only need one console and a monthly subscription to play all your favorite games. As a lifelong ps4 fan, I'm all for this and I might even end up making the change to Xbox Series X.

This isn’t even an theory either anymore, GamePass is way too convenient for the lazy American and is why most people love the Xbox. Microsoft also tried to buy Nintendo and they’re definitely not going to stop with Activision. This is a longer term power play to take control on an entire industry.
Gaming is dead to me, I don’t like Microsoft or Sony, I mainly just emulate on my PC with older classic, people are way too caught up in their petty console and brand loyalty with companies who could care less about them.
oh yea let one thing be known this is not the end for Microsoft's Crusader this is only the Beginning
Microsoft being a monopoly is something else and I hope the main competitors start doing more though, but the culture and values of Microsoft are good in my opinion. Definitely going to make positive change at activision blizzard which is a good thing
If Corpos like Microsoft keeps buyin Ip's up then yup gaming might be dead in the near future. I play so far only on steam cause i prefer to be able to play offline and have open platform than an Spyware Company which requires always online, and may pretty soon charge Xbox pass fee and will ban users for BS reasons.
@@callummdev The culture and values of a company can change faster than you change your underwear. What happens 6 years from now when Microsoft is dominant after having bought other gaming companies and suddenly decides that it won't release physical copies of it's IP's no more? And when, coincidentally, it steeply increases gamepass price? A monopoly is never good.
I wish Microsoft managed to buy Disney just to shut them up. Now that would be insane.
In the UK we have fully funded healthcare for practically everything. Seventy billion is just short of a third of the UK’s entire NHS budget for 2022/3 - and the UK is four countries. That’s a serious amount of money right there, like literally an entire country’s healthcare spending. Microsoft has some plans afoot and they’ll expect to get that money back in short order.
They wont get it 😂 Activision is in a permanent nose dive, that won't be turned around. Microsoft has bought companies before and still couldn't save them, remember Nokia?

I think Sony needs to get competitive here. They lost their edge from last generation where they just stole the show and now their complacent. In the PS3 that was a much closer race and they has to claw to win. If you ask me, they need to acquire some more Japanese publishers like Capcom, Square or Sega or even revive some of their old franchises like Killzone or Socom to strike back. Sony has the fighting game market covered with EVO, and as a fighting game fan that's great, but it's not enough. It's safe to say that I'm concerned with my purchase of a PS5.

@@Mayro_69 that would be bad, which is why I don’t think it’s very smart for them to do so. Gaming is becoming more inclusive and developers are more inclined to share their games.
