There are certain characters that are at a disadvantage VSing other characters. Like, you would not want to play hog in to a Mei/Ana. But also, the person's personal skill level also needs to be assessed. If you're NOT doing well and still refuse to swap, then you're flat-out jeopardizing the game for everyone else because you want to be stubborn. Like, I'm not going to play Zen if the other healer is a Lucio because I am aware that I am not playing at top 500 level where that might work, even though Zen is personally one of my favorite healers. But for the sake of the rest of the team, if the healing is lacking, I will play something with more heals because I want other people to have fun too.

Google Now showed me more than two websites linking this video saying something on the lines of "Overwatch player exposes community toxicity" or something like that, before Zylbrad made his video
batmabel I am sure that you can find sites like that if any big TH-camr "exposes" something in a video. I think Zylbrad just made it very big with his video.
Finally someone gets the point of this video. There is so much toxicity in the comments of this video about overwatch. It's a joke. Some of the people in this video were toxic but there was a couple people who were worrying about team comp not the heroes themselves and the hanzo on kings row they realised that he was good and was complementing him. And saying I don't think we need a hanzo isn't toxic and dunkey knows that so why according to some people it is. This video is hilarious and dunkey isn't hating on the game it's called poking fun he isn't serious. Thank you batmabel for being part of the 2% of people watching this video
+Stripey Snow. the purpose of his going roadhog and receiving massive praise from his team while doing absolutely nothing was to show that the toxic players trying to dictate what character everyone plays as aren't actually doing it to do well in the game, they're doing it because they're autistic control freaks.

Sure, as i already said, try playing competitive(yes, all those gameplays were competitive, serious business for a lot of gamers) with some players that can't even choose a hero suitable for the mode/situation. I'm not saying you shouldn't play with the hero you want, but you should do this on casual mode, yes, the place where you can play and/or test them out; ranked is the wrong place for people who are interested in learning more about the mode.
not really true if you convince them to give people a chance and it turns around real quick plus you don't understand the game you haven't played it so you can't complain
league have a toxic community but a least they don't force you to play the meta.If you are good with a hero there is no reason for you to not play it okay maybe he is not the best for the mode but you can at least make kill and pressure them with a hero you are really good at.But i have to agreed on the fact that if the guy suck with hanzo and still play it he have 0 use for the team he cant even be a meat shield.
I think league is less toxic than Overwatch. Ovewatch is toxic even in picks. Because Overwatch stats are not visible, people believe in comps rather than skills. League used to be toxic at picks too, but they figured it out with role picks. Que went longer, but it much better now. Overwatch should do the same - Id rather wait more in que and get players who willing to switch rather get insta game with players who dont switch. In league flame is usually against players who fail. In Overwatch it is against anyone and the flamer can be the one who is failing. I think Blizz should make stats visible, so that there would be no witch hunt for failing person and be clear who is failing. Ofc it is bad for that failing person, but I think it normal. You fail, you might get yelled at. At least then next game you got motivation not to slacking off.

I know you are messing around, that's cool. I just want people to understand it's never that simple, people are competitive in nature. Try play Street Basketball or Softball... People take it seriously and no one gets paid. Like how can you prove you are good without wins?

I mean, the biggest issues with games such as Overwatch is the fact that people have this; "What I am good with, is good. What I am bad with, is bad" mentality. A game with versatility in the core like Overwatch will have different playstyles, and some are better at certain play-styles than others. Are you insanely talented with aiming and movement at the same time? Chance is, Hanzo will work wonders for you. You aren't that good at aiming? Chance is, Hanzo will make you die more than your entire team combined. You are good at micro-managing a lot of resources at once? Torbjørn might be a good fit for you, or perhaps some other hero with more than the average resource and so on. Certainly, there are heroes better fit for certain scenarios, which is why they are gathered into classes and such. Though that doesn't mean that one specific defensive character is universally better for when anyone uses said character. >.>
Luke Except the problem is that META is a real concept and not all of Overwatch's characters fit into the META category Where things get skewed is some people don't understand meta, some just use it to call out players using tactics they don't like or deem ineffective even if proven otherwise But their salty sentiment makes sense if you're going into a ranked game risking your teammates rating as well as yours picking a sub-optimal pick (torbjorn) just because you find them fun or "could" get good results with them
Tyler Keaton this is the dumbest shit I've ever heard in my Life.... did you hear this guy you shouldn't play the game to have "fun", what you should be doing is worrying about your teammates rank....
Then if someone decides to throw in your games by picking weaker characters vs META, don't blame them for wanting to have "fun" and if they win congrats you lucked out by having that one good main of x low-tier character
It's because half of the community is people who only play mercy and reinhardt because they like to feel like they're actually useful since they can't do shit as the dps
Lmao, because 95% of them are shit, if you're a good hanzo, awesome, would love to have you on my team, but you can't say you don't understand why people bitch.
As someone thats played cbt obt then launch, no there was never a time when this was a thing. The community was always toxic the reddit just seemed to ignore it until the blizz forums came out and it was apparent.
Binerexis. I belittle people to compensate for my parents dieing when I was a kid. We were walking out of a movie theatre and a thug tried robbed us. Killing them both.
Blox this is pretty much most of the comments on dunkey's videos. Just a bunch of people quoting him. It's not a bad thing but I'd like to see some originality.
It doesnt matter what the game is, a competitive game is going to be filled with people that are taking it really seriously because if you didnt know competitive is graded instead of "For fun". Dont blame overwatch and dont blame the entire community by stereotyping it
Divisiondoorway The problem is not that its competitive or that people take it to seriously. The problem is that players who have a basic understanding over the game think they got all figured out and have to teach their team how to play because of course only the teammates can be a reason for a loss.
You cant really use the classic "League" excuse after most of people who left league for OW came back or just left both of the games entirely after, Overwatch's hype died and people realized it wasn't as good as they thought after playing it for a month LOL.
Kalenz I think after watching a dunkey video then saying that all players are like that is a pretty simple stereotype. The point of the video was a joke and not supposed to be reflected on to make a comparison to the entire community or game. You are looking too far into this and need to look on the other side of the story. Try not to make an assumption like the rest of dunkey's fans on a satire piece
That's me watching League of Legends. But Overwatch has 22 characters right now and League of Legends has 132 characters right now. One of these games are easier to pick up.
@@Arhivite If you actually wanted to be a pro, then you should want your team to be as bad as possible. Anyone who complains about how someone else plays a video game is a loser. No argument, just fact.

ElatedGenrex I understand the words, and yet not the statement. That's not a knock against you, I just never played this game - or others with 'competitive modes' (A concepts I don't even understand in the first place, since the game is a already competition, right?). Literally no-one in the game sounds like they're having fun (except Dunks). They sound like they're doing spreadsheets and someone keeps picking Comic Sans - so why don't they go be just as upset while doing overtime at their job and at least get paid doing it, yaknow? I know that's the point of the video by the way, and it's basically exactly what I used to do back in my GoW days when I ended up in a match of people who forgot that the game is, in fact, not actually a real war.
TheRev Well technically you just answered your own question, quick play, or in a more vague description "casual play" it's a mode for players ho just want to have fun while competitive is for those who want to get high ranking and "win" It's just like real life sports, there are those times when you just play just for fun and there are those times when you are actually playing to win it.
***** ...but WHY is that important enough to get upset about? Like, this phenomena is seriously baffling to me. Ten bucks says these games have zero risk for losing, except maybe *not* feeling slightly better about having a tiny penis for like 30 seconds when you win a match. Drugs or booze at least work longer and will raise your blood pressure slower than freaking out over a voluntary recreational activity.
Sinnamon Apple Well, to be fair, I don't understand the crushing sense of woe some people feel when losing a real sport either. I mean, maybe the head coach could lose his job, but even the lowest paid pro is in a dream job, and non-pros (supposedly) play a game because they LIKE to play. However, the reactions people exhibit say otherwise. Maybe I'm not human or something, cuz as much as I like winning I just don't care if I lose, and if I do, it's time do something else with my limited free time.
***** True, true, just kinda think that precious time is better spent doing things that don't cause heart attacks - or at least cause them in a more pleasant way, yaknow?
When the meta evolves, as it does in every single game, the fun factor drops like a fucking rock. League was the same way on release, "Do what you want, fuck around and have fun." Duo top Galio/Irelia. Who gives a fuck.
Or on particular game modes, like payload. She can contest hard, but she lacks the verticality to get around the many chokes on payload maps. She's not awful, but she's not the best flanker when you're not trying to capture a point. Heroes are not universally good in all situations and if you want to goof around there's quick play. Swapping is normal and in competitive it's no big deal if someone is trying to put together a reasonable comp, that's what you're going in there to do.
this is the reason i don't really like overwatch that much, nobody ever lets you just do your own thing and have fun it's always: "yeaaah can you NOT play genji, mcree, hanzo, soldier, whole roster, etc?"
People just take it too seriously. It's a game, yo. Plus champs are all about comfort, and it's more about who's hands they're in than any other factor. So chill out and play the game.
Thisnameisfine It's still a game even in competitive. What do you gain in real life by playing competitively? Nothing. All you get is the in-game satisfaction of possibly getting to GM or top 500 and getting a golden gun. You don't even have to be good at the game to get carried to GM. Heck, you don't even have to play. A person could be boosted to it. So, really, even in competitive, it's still a game.
Just had the same experience last night. I played Hanzo in several competitive games, and, no matter how well I did (even if I came away with 5 gold medals, in which I did twice in a row, and once held the point against 4 attackers after a near team wipe, until my team was able to get back and join me), people blamed me repeatedly for us losing, because "Hanzo sucks". Even after that, the same people (who I kept unfortunately getting paired with in subsequent games) spent the entire matches mocking me for "thinking I'm Seagull", and "not knowing how to play the game". After last night, (and other similar experiences) I think I'm very close to not ever wanting to play competitive anymore. I mean, seriously, people, you have to take some responsibility yourself when the team loses, and stop blaming everything on the "odd picks" of your teammates, especially if they actually can play that hero well. Another example is Zenyatta before the buffs. He's one of my other mains, and I've had moments where I've literally healed more than 50% of the team's health WHILE GETTING GOLD MEDALS IN ELIMINATIONS AND DAMAGE, and STILL, people blame the loss on me. If this is what competitive is all about in multiplayer games (I've always avoided ranking and competitive), I'm either going to just turn off my mic and mute people, or just stick with the quick game mode, where people are much more relaxed, and willing to experience with different types of team comps. I'm just trying to have some fun. I don't need this shit.
Lol, the "5 gold medals" was a typo. I meant 4. One for eliminations, one for damage, one for objective kills, and one for objective time (yes, I'm a Hanzo that will fight on the point when needed).
To toxic players: If someone plays a character that seems bad to me, I ask them if they're good. If they say they are, i believe them until proven otherwise. Please follow this example.
Jetex Gaming It doesn't matter if they're good or not... We have no right to prohibit someone from playing a character that they're bad at, otherwise it wouldn't be possible for them to actually learn. If someone is trying their best, it is already good for me.
^ as someone who hasn't played competitive yet, that still seems like a mentality for quick play. Yet again can you truly practice when you play at that typically lower level?
okay....and then what do you do when you're proven wrong....and they're terrible at whoever they said they're good at. keep in mind my concerns are for comp play. i don't give a shit what happens in quick play...i'm talking in comp where it matters
I literally can't play team games like this because I can't stand the players who blame everyone else when something goes wrong. Also my favorite role is healer, so that's a hellish combination of circumstances.
orbas88 What about useful information about enemy positioning and when to engage. I lost many competitive rounds cause of people not joining voice chat and listening to what the fuck the rest of the team wants to do.
Not true. I play on Xbox (and I have a mic) and I was playing a competitive match with my friends and at the last minute, we were losing, and this five year old cussed us out and everybody else on the team
Are these lovely conversations an exception, or is the overwatch community really this toxic? Because if it is, I might have a theory as to why the game is dying..
BrokenSymetry Its dying because the game is kinda mediocre, only hardcore Blizzdrones still support it and Blizzard has become such a kindergarden that saying “gg ez” is enough to warrant repercussions. The most pathetic company attracts the most pathetic people I guess

Overwatch in a nutshell
I'm loving the internet sharing this like it's some kind of "elaborated critique of the overwatch community's toxicity" ignoring that he spend half the video sitting down as Roadhog and jumping of cliffs on competitive lol
I love you dunkey, never change.
Lol no, Zylbrad made a somewhat joke video where he was like "So, according to Dunkey this game is full of toxic people..." and people came here to say, I agree etc.
When this game was in beta and I discovered how Genji works with his double jumping, wallclimbing, dashing and ult, or how Junkrats catapults himself and is just spam city, I was in love.
Then tryhards ruined the game
Play tf2 then
Overwatch where people hate you for your character choices.
Not in quick games. That is the place you play what ever want.

"Can we have two tanks?"
- Guy who has never picked tank
Though that doesn't mean that one specific defensive character is universally better for when anyone uses said character. >.>
Amen brother
your vocabulary is too high for me

Except the problem is that META is a real concept and not all of Overwatch's characters fit into the META category
Where things get skewed is some people don't understand meta, some just use it to call out players using tactics they don't like or deem ineffective even if proven otherwise
But their salty sentiment makes sense if you're going into a ranked game risking your teammates rating as well as yours picking a sub-optimal pick (torbjorn) just because you find them fun or "could" get good results with them
Tyler Keaton this is the dumbest shit I've ever heard in my Life.... did you hear this guy you shouldn't play the game to have "fun", what you should be doing is worrying about your teammates rank....
Then if someone decides to throw in your games by picking weaker characters vs META, don't blame them for wanting to have "fun"
and if they win congrats you lucked out by having that one good main of x low-tier character

all of league left to overwatch...and it became toxic....coinky dink? i think not
It doesnt matter what the game is, a competitive game is going to be filled with people that are taking it really seriously because if you didnt know competitive is graded instead of "For fun".

TheRev Well technically you just answered your own question, quick play, or in a more vague description "casual play" it's a mode for players ho just want to have fun while competitive is for those who want to get high ranking and "win"
It's just like real life sports, there are those times when you just play just for fun and there are those times when you are actually playing to win it.

Let's be honest getting meta in overwatch was the worst thing that could have happened to the game
Mason higgs a lot of games are like this though
When the meta evolves, as it does in every single game, the fun factor drops like a fucking rock.
League was the same way on release, "Do what you want, fuck around and have fun." Duo top Galio/Irelia. Who gives a fuck.
The good ol’ days when Hanzo could deal 450 damage with one move.
"Can we not be playing overwatch?"
"Don't play Tracer she's not really good." He says as he plays 76 when Mcree is objectively a better pick and Tracer is the best flanker atm.
Or on a certain map.
Tracer is garbonzo beans on really linear maps.
This is what happens when a game becomes popular. Everyone acts like they have a damn PHD in the game and is 100% correct
Its a shooter..dont try to bring some tactics into it...you aim and you shoot..thats it.
this is the reason i don't really like overwatch that much, nobody ever lets you just do your own thing and have fun it's always: "yeaaah can you NOT play genji, mcree, hanzo, soldier, whole roster, etc?"
Their logic states: "I suck as that character so that must mean that character sucks. Couldn't possibly be me."

Thisnameisfine It's still a game even in competitive. What do you gain in real life by playing competitively? Nothing. In fact, the computer’s not even on!
Cloaked One
how'd you get gold in healing with hanzo
Horse shit. You can't get the healing medal with Hanzo.
You need to remember- In competetive, it's always someone else's fault
Lol, the "5 gold medals" was a typo. I meant 4. One for eliminations, one for damage, one for objective kills, and one for objective time (yes, I'm a Hanzo that will fight on the point when needed).
To toxic players:
If someone plays a character that seems bad to me, I ask them if they're good. If they say they are, i believe them until proven otherwise.
Please follow this example.
um... you confuse me
Jetex Gaming It doesn't matter if they're good or not... We have no right to prohibit someone from playing a character that they're bad at, otherwise it wouldn't be possible for them to actually learn. If someone is trying their best, it is already good for me.
^ as someone who hasn't played competitive yet, that still seems like a mentality for quick play. Yet again can you truly practice when you play at that typically lower level?
okay....and then what do you do when you're proven wrong....and they're terrible at whoever they said they're good at.
keep in mind my concerns are for comp play. i don't give a shit what happens in quick play...i'm talking in comp where it matters
or you can check their profile as proof.
I literally can't play team games like this because I can't stand the players who blame everyone else when something goes wrong.
Also my favorite role is healer, so that's a hellish combination of circumstances.
🤲
"MERCY WHERE WERE YOU?!?" with the rest of the team, ass hat
*Toxic community... :/*
Every community that ever was became toxic sooner or later.
Hairy AldrichJr thas deep my man
basically, its gotten so bad ive had people legit bully and threaten me for playing widow despite having most kills and almost each being headshots
halo in a nutshell
ha
This is why I do not play comp. Ever. QP and Arcade are so much more chill.
I wish people would stop with this "meta" bullshit... we're playing a videogame.
well its true you dumbass
Shaheem Iqbal so whenever I join unranked for fun I'll have to endure asswipes such as yourself. magnificent.
Level 1: Become an hero it matters when its ranked. dont care if its not ranked
Shaheem Iqbal wish everyone thinked like that
they do, all the clips were from ranked. you can tell by the different scoreboard at the top
Overwatch is toxic Dunkey said so well time to delete mah friends
league community started to overflow into bliz games
league community started with bliz as dota on warcraft 3 and now we have gone full circle.
I truly love when people complain about people picking characters then plays worse than the person they’re complaining about
Ah the good old days when Hanzo, Sym, Torb, and Bastion players got yelled at instantly. Now it's just shields everywhere all the time.
And Sym now thrives
Unless they nerf her
I haven’t played OW since the first 2 seasons. What am I missing?
Dunkey play Wizard 101.
you're garb
you're tra

King Kadius penis
dude that game is fun but slow af
You literally captured the essence of playing this with strangers.
Which is most people
I still can't believe anybody is this good with a steering wheel controller.
First thing I do when playing any game, go into option and mute voiceover so I don't hear bitching. lol
Or useful information in order to win.
orbas88 What about useful information about enemy positioning and when to engage. I lost many competitive rounds cause of people not joining voice chat and listening to what the fuck the rest of the team wants to do.
Well QQ harder and maybe they will listen.
Then there's your problem. You played competitive. ;)
Ren Vortex And Quick Play is a clown fiesta fuckfest where 4 people pick dps and the other two something like Bastion and Hanzo.
No toxic is to be seen on console
BECAUSE NOBODY HAS A MIC
Sans Sansational actually we all have mics on console overwatch, but nobody has the balls to say anything
+ironic name lol
OW PS4 EU, lots of angry french people screaming and not doing their best to win, just whining and crying about their latest death
Oh it most definitely is this toxic in fact it is much worse tho you don't have as many shining terds streaming like in fortnite
*dead
gojira hunter
The doesn’t have a toxic community
Because it has no community
BrokenSymetry Its dying because the game is kinda mediocre, only hardcore Blizzdrones still support it and Blizzard has become such a kindergarden that saying “gg ez” is enough to warrant repercussions. The most pathetic company attracts the most pathetic people I guess
@@Tremere Also, its been over 3 years, and they have yet to take one step forwards story-wise. That might have worked, if they didn't try to give it a big, ambitious world-built story initially.
The fact that this is all Tekken 3 music❤❤❤❤
Specially nice since Tekken 8 is out!
