I am also someone who started collecting stamps in my early teens. Started it because I could not bear to throw away those little works of art! My family thought I was nuts, and they still do, but I couldn’t stop collecting them. I am now an old lady and I still have a big ziplock baggie of my stamps. Yet I have never used them in my collage art or anywhere. I’ve also never taken off the bits of the envelopes they are stuck to...they often remind me of where I got them from. Some of the stamps I will soak to get off the paper but some I actually like still attached to the paper. It’s all a matter of personal taste I suppose. Excellent video, and so fun to watch, thank you!

Hi sweetie, yep yep yep!!! I totally get you with hoarding some gorgeous stamps and not giving a hoot about the sports and olympic ones 🤪
Keeping the stamps by color and by theme will make your life easier when you do collages and using ones that you have multiple of is easiest.
Making collections of stamps like this also makes me feel calm, so I rearrange and play around with making different categories if I want to calm down 🐌🍂 and if I want to do something, but feel a little uninspired and sometimes one or two stamps can fuel inspiration 😁
    Have a wonderful day 🤗❤️

My brother was a real collector. Every year on my birthday I gave him the box of torn stamps, collected over the year, that he deviated and gave them to the local stamp club.
I now detached them myself. I used a Teflon sheet which I use in the oven. The stamps face down.

You're very organised with your stamps and have a lot of lovely ones 👍☺️. I have thousands of used stamps and I've been meaning to sort them all out, but currently they are all stored together in a large plastic bag. When I was in my teens I did collect stamps, but then gave them all away. Yes, there are some very beautiful stamps and also a lot of very boring ones 😂😂. My favourite stamps are those with birds on. I do purchase a lot of special stamp issues that Royal Mail bring out to send on penpal letters, but sometimes I'm reluctant to use them. I'm off now to look online for an album .

I started making an album after your last video showing your lovely stamp album, Barbara. My album project is coming along slowly, though. I've looked online for an album, but I can't find anything I like for a good price. So I'm sure I'll be finishing this album at some point. I have lots of stamps that need sorting - and using!! lol
Thanks for showing us how to soak and how you sort. I've tried soaking my stamps in water, but I guess I wasn't patient enough with some of them! I also studied your album better this time and decided my rows of clear plastic need to be closer together than I had thought. Stamps are not so tall (usually)!
Barbara, I LOVE the soft, calm music in your videos, and I keep forgetting to tell you that I REALLY APPRECIATE that you hold things up to the camera all the time!! That is sooooo helpful!! Thank you, dear!!

Hi Barbara, you have a beautiful collection of stamps and you have lots of patience 💖 Such a good idea to organise them in colours. I will try this; the last time I tried to organise mine in categories, I gave up 🙄Maybe you could scan n print the ones you don't want to use .. or is that cheating! 😁 TYFS Lots of love 💖🎶🍁

What a wonderful collection you have Barbara, I need to get an album to organise mine! You must have tons of mail every day, I’m lucky if I get 2 stamps a week lol 😂 thanks for sharing your tips for removing the stamps, I’ve never thought to do that! As for stamps you want to hoard, I look at it like this, if I’m making a journal or page for my books I can see them every time I look at the book. They haven’t gone they are just used and stored in a different place! Take care xxx💕

Who knew? Not me!! What a great video! You have some gorgeous stamps! I collect stamps just to look at also . I've loved them since I was a child as well even though no one in my family collected them . As an adult I've never really had them in an album because the organization would drive me crazy ... like you not having room for the butterflies and having to move things around! AAAAAHHHH 😄 But I think if I leave enough room I can do it and also convince myself that if I have to start another page of butterflies, or whatever, in the back I'll be fine 😆
    TFS... hugs from Nebraska 💓

The best thing to use on the sticky backed stamps is corn flour. Just rub a little on and blow or shake off the excess.

They are Collector Edition. Perhaps if I can find them I will send you one. Anyway, thanks for showing me how to remove the stamps from the paper. Maybe I will get motivated to do it too! Hope you are doing well. Hugs💕

I have got some VERY old and pretty stamps from Germany. I found it in my second hand shop. I think all of them is before 2. World war. Some are in a book, which is broken. So I have to start all over. Should I just sorted them in color or themed ? There are many many animals and flowers. I really wish you could see them 🙂 my husband don’t really see the same as I...🤣😂
