- Just a little of slice of life with me (Tana) showing my wife (Lala) what I've been up to with the bunnies. She's away for a while and this is the best way to share each other life.

I love how Momo is always surprised each time you guys take them out to the garden. Such a cutie!

My rabbits are free range in the garden with two very huge hutches, I love. Seeing animals free to run, good on you.

We have hawks and owls where I live so I cannot have my house bunnies outside. My friend has backyard hens, and witnessed a hawk swoop down and carry off one of their chickens!
Robin we always supervise them and luckily we don’t have to worry about predator around or house. But still we never leave them alone in the garden. Also we have a puppy who help us look after them 🤣

My area had a healthy population of red tail hawks and other species of raptors, I couldn’t let a bunny roam outside for a minute. I see lots of dead bird carcasses outside around my neighborhood often.

Back when we had a yard like this, my family used to let Blackberry, our own dwarf rabbit, run around the same way! She dug a burrow by the back fence!

She even enjoys kale stems😁 carrots are the most natural way for you dog to clean their teeth. If you dog won’t eat the carrot at first, try peeling it or baby carrots. I hope that help you dog begin a new healthy treat.

Reminds me of my childhood, growing up with a pair of mini rexs named ‘nuller’ and ‘ninus’. The first one was the calmest most zen, whilst the older sibling Ninus was territorial and rolled with her muscles.
Despite their stark differences they enjoyed each others company, cleaning each other and sometimes napping next to one another. Their mostly calm domeanor changed however when they found their new hobby: digging. And oh boy did they dig. A neat little system of caves under the lawn, occasionally popping up all dirty to check for danger. When they were exhausted from digging they emerged, only to be met with cuddles as they closed their eyes in our arms.
Precious pets, i really do miss them, although our old lawn probably doesn’t.
It sounds like your bunnies were so adorable and special and had a beautiful life. 😍

I am hoping to get two netherland dwarf rabbits soon. Is it ok if i buy them a big cage to live in, but have them out their cage most of the day. For example, for about 6 hours every monday to friday (school days) they would be secure in their cage, but for the rest of the day they would be allowed to roam around my bed room. Would that be ok?
fiona2x2 buy a play pen. It’s cheaper and more space for them.
Playpen idea is good! Do whatever works, as long as they won't come to harm. Make sure it's not too sunny or too cold in the outdoor housing and that it is safe from predators. I had a bunny that was kitty litter trained and ran the house. I just had to watch him from chewing electrical cords. I see on Amazon, I think, there is something that you can buy to protect cords.
I had him in a cage at first with kitty litter on the bottom. I let some time pass as he lived like that and then took the top off the litter tray and thankfully he still returned to potty there.

My netherland dwarf rabbit has not had any vaccines yet so he cant play outside. He is 7 months old.
Aw. Are you from a wild country? We are from UK and it’s less of a hazard here. We don’t have crazy wild animals, only nice one like fox, deer and wild bunnies etc.

That’s a wild country! Cool. You get lynx, moose, Wolverine, bear, polar bear, cougar, wolf, etc while in UK, we get butterfly, deer, Fox, bunnies and all the friendly things. Lol

How do you ensure they dont run away? How do you get them to go back inside? I would love to have my bunnies go and play in the garden but I'm so afraid they'll run away or hide where I wont be able to reach them before a cat or a fox reaches them!
You could just let them run in the open area and fenced off any area you don't want them to go and hide. Our rabbit sometime play in the bush, but it's not that deep so it was easy to get them out. Best to keep eyes on them when they out in the garden : )

Nope. We had to keep eyes on them at first, but they don't eat strange stuff or plant. Just like to explore.
