Turn everything into a game or play. The littles learn through play make sure you have space for independent play during centers. In the class I worked in we had one independent center where they played with toys aligned to the unit we were doing. Any play can be aligned with SEL and literacy standards. Sometimes it makes more work for teachers and paras to incorporate play, but it is so developmentally necessary for the littles.
@@LifeWithMrsLee I’m glad! You’d be surprised how many teachers I’ve worked with and admin I’ve worked for who don’t understand the importance of play in kindergarten and early childhood education.
@@kaylayoungblood9577 I do not make videos. I mainly watch them. I’m starting to be more active and watch more setup videos as I make the transition from teacher’s kid and paraprofessional to teacher of record. Kindergarten is where I’ve grown up so to speak.
Hi new subscriber here. I was a para for 18 years and am now a K teacher. I agree with everyone else - take out the para desk. They honestly don’t need a desk. You can make a station for her in that back counter behind where you have her desk or put a 3 tier rolling cart by the kidney table with things she needs to work with kids and basic supplies.
I was a kinder para, until this year. I am currently working on my credential. My teacher and I both just used our kidney tables as desks. I had a three drawer plastic cart to organize my small group and prep materials.
I teach Kinder! Congrats🎉 you should get rid of your teacher desk..no need for 2 plus your small group table. I suggest using your small group table as YOUR desk. Then create a play area!
Thank you!! How do you like kindergarten? I thought about getting rid of my desk but I actually use it and all the drawers. I have two of everything since I have a teacher assistant full time. I made a play area kinda at the front of my room. We rarely have time for play 😫
Play is learning for those little babies. Im going into my 5th year in K in Canada 🇨🇦. It's the best. Less is more though. Your para does not need a desk AND bean table imo. You are too kind. 😂
@@LifeWithMrsLee yep. So now I make sure not to wear CCSD apparel on days I plan to film, and I have a pull away lanyard that I take off while in my classroom.

I completely agree!

Are you doing classroom videos
@@kaylayoungblood9577 that’s my plan 😊 what kind of videos are you looking for?

Yay!! Congrats 🎉 that’s a great idea! I will definitely play around with the layout when I go back!

Hey hey! Make sure to blur your badge when you’re wearing it in your videos! Otherwise great job hun!❤
Thank you 💕 Girl, I always forget I have it on 😩
@@LifeWithMrsLee I got in hot water about it last year. Happy to help 😊
Omg, really? That’s crazy!!

@@LifeWithMrsLee I always do too and then have to blur after..ugh!!
Two small group tables? Girl - make more room for babies to PLAY!!! Less furniture is best.
