I think treating the light warm ups like heavy singles (and vice versa) is a great philosophy! Also something that e.g. the Lilliebridges are doing well. Only downside is maybe that the technique may still be different, e.g. pulling the hips down into the bar for the sumo setup just won't work with weights that are too light and simply lift off the floor prematurely. Also the balance is completely different.
Meh, to each their own is what I say. I want all my warmups up to 600 to look exactly the same. Same form, same speed, same everything. I'll never see the point in putting maximum force into warmup weights. Does nothing for me
Love how Dan's head throws back accentuating the momentum still going at the end of the lift, showing his form is like lifting beyond the end of the movement.
I was almost convinced you were doing a 5X5 workout. Also thanks for taking the time to make this, hopefully you can get a sponsor to pay you to make more on your channel.
I don’t think some people really fully understand what he just fucking did. To be able to deadlift 716 pounds that many times after already being tired.....I’m speechless. Fucking amazing, sir.
Someone should photoshop a guitar into his hands when he is locking out hah! Also, dan, (or anyone who knows), why on the working sets is the first rep partial/no lockout? I don't think I've ever seen anyone do that, but I'm sure there's a good reason for it. Not many people are pulling weight like that anyhow
He just barely locks them out. I think it is to conserve energy; so he can go and do rest of the reps and in the last ones he just wants to own the weight by holding it. It is maybe more of a mental thing than anything else. I have seen many lifters do that.
Same man, I feel like you only really get that kind of music in one of those iron gyms like this. I almost cant even work out if I forget my headphones because the music in my gym makes me want to puke. Gotta have that metal.
Oddly? It's outright badass. Everything the man does should be narrated by Morgan Freeman with metal playing in the background as it is the nature of things when it comes to him
In the background I heard Lamb of God, Dark Tranquility, Pantera & more. There's no real badass powerlifter like this guy can do heavy deadlifts without playing metal really loud LOL
Hey Dan! Would you recommend using lots of movements for someone who hasn't been training that long and needs to build a muscle? Or will 3 or 4 movements per workout (including main movement) be the best?
+carlos sanchez Dude we all got to start somewhere and every time you move up and progress be happy. As long as your form is good and your training and dieting hard you continue to see awesome gains! :)
+blabla fackenbla right now i am lifting 360 for 5 reps , and hopefully this year i wanna do at least one rep with 4 plates , still shitty but hey at least its better xd
carlos sanchez Hey dude you should be able to do 4 plates now for 1 rep. I put your numbers through on the 1RM calculator www.exrx.net/Calculators/OneRepMax.html It is pretty accurate usually and according to this it says you can. So give it a try now. Hope this helps you.
my favorite part was watching Dan pull 275 like it was 715. taught me that I need to take my warm-up more seriously.
You tell me about it..
***** you need to realize what a good warm up does for you. otherwise you're just mimicking others for no reason.
U gotta prepare for some badass hardcore lifting, train and warm up for it!

716x23 reps in 4sets of deadlifting?!? not sure what to say after that..
Best thing is he is 100% full natty, no drugs at all.
ben-t about as natty as pamela andersons chest.
ben-t lol You just wont the internet bro.
The hair alone adds +50lbs to his lifts, he said it himself
Ben Curran pmfsl
Not fair, he is from Asgard.
YEAH!! Dan you make us love you even more when you give us videos like this. Keep up the good work man, and keep posting videos!!!
He didn't even put a profile pic :D I hope he give his channel more interest
damn he made that 3rd set with 716kg look easy!
pretty crazy considering it's a few hundred kgs heavier than the world record
xXBIGSlilXx crazy shit for sure!
+xXBIGSlilXx lmao
+Glutes Brah what's that around 1600 lbs?
+Glutes Brah hahaha obviously its 716lb
Yeah, that's impressive, but that wasn't raw: at least 100 lbs were added by those beautiful, waving locks.
Nika Zardiashvili And then the music. You know, you have to take that into consideration.
@@Ebvardh pls tell me you're joking
Locks? Pls explain
Nice kg to kg conversion lol
Always motivating. I admire the focus in your training
For those wanting a quick break down:
125kg x 8
175kg x 4
225kg x 2
275kg x 1
325kg x 6, 6, 6, 5
Love how Dan's head throws back accentuating the momentum still going at the end of the lift, showing his form is like lifting beyond the end of the movement.
Monster volume.
Blessings
Really my inspiration in both bodybuilding and powerlifting.
4:30 Amon Amarth - Twilight of the thunder God!!! FUCK YEAH viking metal!
M8 its melodic death metal, viking metal is a variation of black metal... lol jks
George Clarke
That is true. AA is pretty much the only "viking" DM band and when someone says "viking metal" it means a sub genre of black metal.
No need to thank me. It's always a pleasure to share great music.
Josh RobertsGood gym music choices, I heard some Pantera - A New Level on the next set too :D
Josh Roberts instant strength gains!
I was almost convinced you were doing a 5X5 workout. Also thanks for taking the time to make this, hopefully you can get a sponsor to pay you to make more on your channel.
i was like: 325kg, that's heavy he surely make 3x3.
After third rep, well 4x4.... 4th rep: fuck this shit i start playing pokemon
Dan Green makes Power lifting super interesting. Thé more I watch thé more I want to powerlift, that's what I call a Pro.. Awesome Vidéo.
God please give us another vid. ...love this stuff
I enjoyed the different type of video also seeing u do pullups was a cool change!
Amazing to watch these lifts, Technique is bulletproof
I don’t think some people really fully understand what he just fucking did. To be able to deadlift 716 pounds that many times after already being tired.....I’m speechless. Fucking amazing, sir.

I would guess it's not intentional
I would guess its too keep tension on the muscles??!?
But i really have no idea
Probably just lost balance. Sometimes it's better to be patient with the sumo pull.
He just barely locks them out. I think it is to conserve energy; so he can go and do rest of the reps and in the last ones he just wants to own the weight by holding it. It is maybe more of a mental thing than anything else. I have seen many lifters do that.
Dan the man
I tried counting the reps, the awe broke my concentration... Thanks for making the video Dan.
Man his technique of doing dead lifts is amazing.. so fascinating to watch
why does he hyper extend his back like that ?
My guess is to get loose. Most trainers will specifically tell you not to do that, but Dan is stronger than them so he can do what he wants.
I think thats some peoples back angle when they pull sumo and lockout
Its probably just a bad habit to try to cue pushing his hips through at the top
@Anon Ymous That's not really how it works.
Anon Ymous I don’t care, plenty of people rack pull that much and don’t hyperextend.
Awesome to get to see your deadlift parties!
Wow, all I can say is unbelievable strength over so many sets. Shows not only great strength but also great fitness! Amazing!!
watch this in 0.5 speed and some ac/dc. Fudging epic preworkout!! Yeahhh baby
More videos like this please
no hip hop or bullshit dub step....FINALLY!!
didnt know he was that shredded
Awesome lifting, awesome lifting.
Hercules. Demigod. Always amazed. Very inspirational.
Heavy Metal and heavy-ass weight!
Wonderful combination.
I wish this kinda music would be played at my gym...
Same man, I feel like you only really get that kind of music in one of those iron gyms like this. I almost cant even work out if I forget my headphones because the music in my gym makes me want to puke. Gotta have that metal.
He's got that kind of game that only makes BOSS progress.
The walk to the bar that he does is oddly badass.
Oddly? It's outright badass. Everything the man does should be narrated by Morgan Freeman with metal playing in the background as it is the nature of things when it comes to him
I can Hear some Dark tranquillity in the back. Nice...
And awesome Training, respect for you from Germany :)
You are my inspiration Dan!
716kg for reps, move along Eddie XD. Dan Green is massive though!
Roy Touw lbs
metal and lifting always make a good day.
PERFECT FORM even for a ridiculous amount of weight!! wow, this guy is the real deal! also at the end he did the pullups to the beat of the song lol
In the background I heard Lamb of God, Dark Tranquility, Pantera & more. There's no real badass powerlifter like this guy can do heavy deadlifts without playing metal really loud LOL
Abreimann what are the song names?
I thought the same thing
"Arise to meet your fate, your destiny awaits!" ;) 3rd set.
You ever worry about drippin that shit on your toes dan? They're so close to the plates
*****
Link please.
He does not need deadlift advice from anyone on the planet.
seheadhunter50 he'd probably listen to whatever ed coan has to say
I was thinking the same thing hahaha
would hyper extending the pull like Dans doing raise the chance of lower back pain?
Hey Dan! Would you recommend using lots of movements for someone who hasn't been training that long and needs to build a muscle? Or will 3 or 4 movements per workout (including main movement) be the best?
I watch this a few times per year...
I thought hyper extending your lower back like Dan does is bad for your spinal discs? Compresses them? Anyone clear it up for me?
Many top level lifter max at 700-750, but 716 for 7,6,6,5? Freakish strength and stamina! Speechless...
Beast!!!!u motivate me...
That is some serious work
Sooooi great training bro 👍👍👍 !!!! U r the master of iron 🏆🏆🏆 !!!!!
this guy have a strong mental !
Lamb of God in the back second lift...
Lamb Of God - Ruin
dans form is switched on 100% from the very first warm up set. top preparation. no mistakes made. mo complacency
Monster , hopefully one day I'll have a back like that
Just subscribed, keep it goin. I'm trying to grow my channel too, it's hard but it's still fun.Take it easy!
Animal from The Muppets is a powerlifter :)
Amon Amarth and Pantera are Awesome
I had been wondering for months, do they make 50kg PL plates? YES
Dan deadlifting with the air free its so fucking awesome..

Kerim Cagli *at the end
Solid Pulls my man!
at 4:50, does anyone know what's the name of the song played in the background pls? thx
Those widespread deadlifts must be hell on the hips.
You get used to them
yeah I switch between sumo and regular weekly and I gotta say, sumo leaves me wrecked. love it.
he is gonna break his spine!!
THOR, ODIN'S SON, PROTECTOR OF MANKIND, RIGHT TO MEET YOUR FATE, RAGNAROOOK AWAIIITS !! haha love the music ! ;) How tall are you ?
and im really happy of being able to lift 315 for 5 reps ... HOORRAYY¡¡¡ :(
You should be happy too brother!
+carlos sanchez Dude we all got to start somewhere and every time you move up and progress be happy. As long as your form is good and your training and dieting hard you continue to see awesome gains! :)
+carlos sanchez you'll get the other 10kg too, just give time :D
+blabla fackenbla right now i am lifting 360 for 5 reps , and hopefully this year i wanna do at least one rep with 4 plates , still shitty but hey at least its better xd
carlos sanchez Hey dude you should be able to do 4 plates now for 1 rep. I put your numbers through on the 1RM calculator www.exrx.net/Calculators/OneRepMax.html

Those first lockouts look crazy they so fast haha
How much rest did u take between 2 workout sets Dan?
Who made the video or edited it never new 325KG = 716KG. for the 3rd set.
My workout mix ALSO includes amon Amarth and pantera! \m/
theres meshuggah in the background!
Definitely the Boss.
Looks alot like two 50kg plates each side on the first warmup set?
Don't forget the weight of the bar.
im inspired
you crazy dan
nice bit of amon amarth there for the gains
325 kg is actually 716 kg? Now I know.
Why does he end so forcefully on the lighter weight in the beginning? Looks like hes gonna snap his back in half lol
but how big is he for real? the leverages are just unreal.
What shoes is he wearing?
shit got serious at 2:20 when the hair got put up
@3:50 Damb, 716 KG?! Talk about heavy!!
One day I will pull 606 that fast.
