In my village particular in same Ebonyi State, we don't have anything to do with NEPA. What the whole of my village use is solar power, every family, and for a year plus now there has never been a day without light in my place

This is the best modern university that I have ever seen in Nigeria. And Edo State governor should emulate the governor of this State.
Unfortunately, in Edo State we celebrate mediocre projects and without the necessary equipment and amenities comparable to international standard.

But investments in education such as this medical university is 20 times better than Dangote Petrochemical industry in Lagos. Many of the medical graduates will be employed abroad like professional soccer players and earn a lot of money that will help transform the lives of their people in Ebonyi and close environs. I agree. FG has never been synonymous with good management. Perhaps a private/public partnership (PPP) where the private partner (professional org) will have controlling shares in the arrangement would have been better option. FG involvement will most likely bring along its trademark nepotism, promotion of mediocrity, political favors into this venture (translated: school will not die but will not live up to the ideals or vision of being world class).
However I'm sympathetic to Dave's concerns (assumed), which is knowledge that the ebonyi state can't handle its operations and that the school will collapse eventually therefore handing it to FG is a lesser evil. At least this will ensure a more stable & predictable capex/opex availability from the FG.
Las las, infra-structurally in Ebonyi, Dave don do well. One may disagree with some of his ways and attributes but no one can argue with the infrastructural development he has brought to Ebonyi state. Welldone to him.

I see world class medical research taking place here. Kudos to Engr. Dave Umahi.
I have always said that Igbo nation wouldn't be crying so much about marginalization if our Igbo governors should do the right thing.

Thank you Mazi Ezeoke for covering these great achievements. It will stimulate public discuss and compel non performers in government to wake up to their duty because the era of telling lies against about performance and hinging the blame only on federal government has changed with Umahi's performance record

The only performing southeast governor, though I didn't like how he treated IPOB .The gap he gave the rest of south east governors is like day and night, the rest of the governors should be ashamed of themselves especially Ifeanyi ugwuanyi of Enugu, the last time I visited Enugu,I looked around I can't say this is is one thing this guy has achieved,Enugu derailed big time under him ,I can't wait for his tenure to end 29th may 2023

This is very impressive and highly commendable. On infrastructure I believe Dave Umahi is miles ahead. My only grouse with him on this is the choice of name he gave this facility. Why “King David”? This is self aggrandizement and inferiority complex. Why not use the name of a prominent and outstanding statesman from Ebonyi or a landmark feature in Ebonyi state or even Dave Umahi University? For the records King David was a king of Israel not Ebonyi State. As Igbos and Africans, we should begin to take pride in our accomplishments.

If a state with little resources can achieve this,it means the Federal government and entire Leaders in Nigeria have been unfair to its citizens.
If every state will put in place this kind of structure,
Train its citizens. Tell me the need of going to abroad for medical treatment?.Our people are doing wonderfully well outside the country in all sfere of human endeavors.
Our country is blessed with many natural resources, yet Nigeria remains one of the poorest countries in the world. With all that we have, it still baffled me while we don't have light,no good roads, no good social amenities, no good living etc.yet we call ourselves a Nation.

To be honest, we in the south east should be the best in the whole of Nigeria. The useless leaders we have should have done a lot for their people and show the whole country what we can do. I don't praise any leader in Nigeria but this is highly commendable. This is world class infrastructure, i schooled in Ebonyi State University and i must say there has been a lot of upgrade in the state.
