- Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal rebutted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's quip about freebies offered by governments ahead of elections, which he compared to the North Indian winter munchies, 'revari'. "Free water, electricity, healthcare or world-class primary education are not 'revaris' but the responsibility of the state," said Arvind Kejriwal. He claimed that he was being abused and mocked for his policies. He added, "I will tell you what free 'revaris' are. There is a big company. It took loans from many banks and did not repay. Banks went bankrupt. That company paid up to the ruling party and faced no action. This is free revari." Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister, while inaugurating the ₹ 15,000 crore Bundelkhand Expressway in Uttar Pradesh, warned against what he called the 'revari culture' of offering freebies for votes and said this is 'very dangerous.' Government's job is not confined to only development or infrastructure itself. It is also donation system to lift lifestyle of poor too.
Kejriwal is not giving unlimited things, to make public lazy or destroy country.
1) 200 units of electricity -> The poor children can use it for studies, basic food cooking (electric stove), also this ensure other public to start using limited way to save money. (This is to improve the mindset of spending resources in limited way)
2) 300 litres of water -> The poor can use for basic drinking and ensure other public to use it in limited way (Again mindset to use resources in limited fashion)
3) Education and Health care (both can is making middle class poor -> health expense can destroy ones family lifestyle and good quality education can lift the talented poor ones to next level) These are all provided not like life time, till 98% of population can afford themselves, until them need to support poor public.
4) Free Bus Pass -> There are men who waste money in drinking, there are responsible women who earn for themselves and for the family. By providing basic travel facility this helps them to use that bus pass money for something else, unlike Modi Scotty Yojana (Again generate tax income via petrol)
Most are blinded by Modi and BJP government.
Modi himself doesn't have education certification, so he will never know, education required to get good job or good education can crate entrepreneurs in India (Skill India as action)
You only have seen Congress freebies and BJP freebies which is either making lazy or religious based segregation. But you have not seen freebies that can lift the poor to good lifestyle.

Giving free doles to the poorest of the poor is fine but why give these free to those who can afford it. I know of a well settled retired CG employee getting free electricity despite them capable of affording to pay for it. The money could be better utilized e. g. For infrastructure.

See dude I'm neither an economist nor a financial expert but my common sense indicates to me that the freebie culture will just pile up debt on the government and it will be a huge burden for a normal taxpayer. Instead of pouring millions and millions of rupees into providing free facilities for the people like free electricity, it is better to spend it on infrastructure, roads, environmental protection, etc. Let me clarify that I'm neither in favor of any political party nor opposing any political party

Its true , in odisha our CM provides rice at rs1 , salt at rs 2, daal at rs 4 to the poorer people , same for electricity and gas where they provide it free to people with marginal low income . Trust me when I say this , many of them dont want to improve their economic situation because they have got used to the almost free stuffs !
