      The vent needs to be swapped out with one that matches the rug. Or if you can't find a new one you can take it to a professional and have them do it.

      I’m curious, Wendy, has your husband added back in the storage you originally had around the desk? The makeover looked lovely, but I’m guessing those functional pieces may have returned at least in part.

      @@skylarkkralyks4496 good q! Since this makeover, Dan swapped in his ergonomic work chair but other than that we've kept all of the changes. Turns out he didn't really need all that storage anyway. This year we'll probably have a few additions to help us with a new baby but I haven't even started to wrap my head around it yet!

    For anyone wondering about the mirror hack: because the string is looped around the nail on the wall and through the hook on the back of the mirror, when you pull the string ends the mirror slides down the length of the string and directly onto the nail. Hope that helps!

    • @xocarissag
      @xocarissag ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thats actually such a genius hack bc i always struggle with that when hanging things up and end up scratching the wall.

    • @janetdw

      I have seen something similar with a fork. Slip the tines over the nail then slip your hanger over the handle of the fork. Slide it all the way down the handle over the tines and onto the screw and then just pull out the fork.

    You COULD have given Wendy the best of both worlds with those cabinets. A hinge. Either attach a piece of wood to the ceiling (Also a way to solve the uneven ceiling issue invisibly), and have hinges that swing upward (this is better/safer for the person using it); or attach hinges to the top of the cabinets that swing out toward the floor. It allows the empty space to be utilized and still have that beautiful built in look you're going for.

      I thought that Alexandra's choice is gorgeous, sturdy, and very practical in keeping with the purpose of the unit.
      Obviously, she didn't think of your solution. Or, if she did, she didn't choose to use it this time. (I've just remembered that Wendy was quite clear in telling Alexandra that they would not use the top unit, even though she though Wendy might want the extra room. That's why she didn't do it. She is always so careful to ask what the individuals wants. Hmmn...

      I came on to say the same thing. The client may not want the storage at this time but it seems such a shame not to have it “just in case”. My experience has always been that I’m going to need more storage. Maybe they’re super minimalists but I would’ve wanted the option of using that space. But that’s me…

    • @lavinder11
      @lavinder11 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The client didn't want it. And AG specifically said that she's losing storage space. When you work for people, you do want they want not what YOU want.

    You are each and ALL SO AMAZING!!! Alexandra, I am mesmerized by the work that you do. It is obviously a life changing gift for everyone you are serving. I'm certain that they thank God for you talent and gift of insight into their lives and their personal 'worlds' . .. which also include hopes and dreams.
    At least, that is how each episode culminates for me in reflecting on the warmed faces we see in all of the reveals.
    Much appreciation for your generous spirit and loving heart!

    This was such a beautiful design. When I saw the full reveal, I teared up. I love the color of the bedspread and headboard together, the wardrobe is absolutely gorgeous, I even love the rug...it just looked like a place I'd look forward to coming home to at the end of the day knowing I would feel relaxed and at peace. Some elements weren't my personal style, but the look as a whole was just beautiful. Great job, team!

    To eliminate the look of diff shades, be sure to have your velvet panels' naps all running the same direction.

    • @Sally-nse2
      @Sally-nse2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yup, I agree those panels were spoiled somewhat by the naps running opposite to each other. That’s the manufacturers fault though I think🤷‍♀️

    • @merrim7765
      @merrim7765 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Sally-nse2 Not really. All you do is turn them all in the same direction. Using your hand, you feel which way the nap is running and then flip them all to match direction. Easy!

    • @Sally-nse2

    Love this! The side tables, the pendants, the bedhead, the built in cupboard, the textured but neautral rug, the wonky mirror, the artwork, the olive tree (nudge it closer to desk please for ease of wardrobe access), the fact that the checks on the cushion match the scoring on the desk drawers, the window treatments, the whole darn thing! I was initially surprised by the black accents for the otherwise soft, neutral tones but it works in a grounding way. I was sceptical about the practicality of the desk and felt it was "unbalanced" by having drawers on one side, but the benefits of the harmonious look in the room outweigh that. Absolute Fave makeover. very tasteful and uplifting.

    I completely understand the hack Graham did with the string to hang the mirror! Oh my goodness, that is so helpful. When I was staging my last house to sell, I struggled so hard to line up that stupid ring on the back of a picture frame with the screw, my face up against the wall, lol! I gave up and switched to a different frame. 😄
