The teapot whistle was the signal to himself that the droid was ready. Since it could be heard from the village. And the river where he was. Took me forever to realize that is what it was for as well. And the child was acting chief since his dad was either sick or old. (Assuming his dad was the actual chief.) Small details and the style of this episode made it one of my favs.
So here is the back story for Ronin. Ronin is not does not follow the ways of a Jedi and has his own method of handling the Sith and because of this the energy that flows through him is considered to be a negative entity which is why his light saber is red. Cyro Crystal adapt to the user’s energy. Ronin is not from the dark side even though his light saber suggests otherwise. Edit: The reason why she took the umbrella splitter off is because of mobility.
A (former?) Sith who hunts Sith. I think they most important line is when he says "Unfortunately" he isn't a Jedi. To me he seems like someone who was trained as a Sith, but has turned on them, wishes he had been a Jedi but is seeking revenge on the Sith in his own way.
This whole episode felt like a beautiful blending of Seven Samurai and Yojimbo. Also normally I’m an English Dub supporter for anime but in the case I much prefer the sub, especially with the art style which looks like an ancient Japanese sketch.
This short is heavily inspired by Kurosawa. So much so, it's easy to forget its not one of his films. Where ever you stand on the anime dub/sub line doesn't matter. Watching one of Kurosawa's films dubed just feels wrong.
I think she threw away the umbrella attachment was because it was heavy and clunky, it was good against blaster fire using the spinning function. But it might be bulky to use against another light saber user, she needed to be more agile.
General Grievous fought Obi Wan Jaby. But other Siths if you ever watched the Clone Wars or Star Wars Rebels had similar saber devices that manipulated their sabers into spinning swords. I loved this and got lost in it watching it. The world shut down around me. Reminded me of 7 Samurai
Loved it, I want more Ronin Sith; his scabbard not only was made of pure Beskar but incorporates another lightsaber; come to think of being Beskar he could use as a deflection weapon too.
I'm not japanese, but watching animes and a little googling will tell you that a samurai master always carries 2 swords. There is no trick here. Its just plane simple fight. And as always a samurai, first fights with his mind, then the body, and last with all the heart. I saw that last quote somewhere.
Its brilliant like as soon as the camera panned down to the village nd we r introduced to ronin, it just instantly reminds u of Kurosowa's Yojimbo whether u have seen it or not. Damn that guy left his fingerprints all over the pop culture/modern cinema
The wanderer kind of reminds me of Darth Bane who is fed up with the Sith order and its plan to take over the galaxy with numbers instead of with the raw power of the dark side and he goes on a mission to eliminate all other sith across the galaxy
This warrior is what we call a Gray Jedi. Not truly a Jedi, but trained in the ways of the force. This Grey Jedi obviously has been killing Sith Lords and collecting their kyber crystals.
Fantastic episode ! I would also very much like and entire series with that style and that dude ! Very Japanese painting like. It also felt more like a mix between Hidden Fortress, Yojimbo and Seven Samurais. The duel on the log looks a lot like a callback to the duel between Anakin and Obiwan on the lava river.
Jaby, wrt them dueling on the log while heading towards the waterfall, it’s a callback to Star Wars Episode 3 when Anakin had his duel with Obi Wan at the volcano planet
The Wanderer is a Sith Inquisitor, just like the woman. Both of these Force Users are bad. He is just trying to redeem himself a bit by taking out all of is fellow Inquisitors. A bad guy taking out worse guys. Like a hitman killing gangsters. Nobody is good here. He kills them with no attempt to even try to save their souls. He is still an evil killer.
Jaby this is my request...anime fan base in india is big but also there are many ignorant about anime...so I want you to give reaction on famous anime series and post on your indian channel...
Dear God there's nothing wrong with either version I will not deny that the hard work put in by the original Japanese voice actors and actresses is important what does that also mean that we have to ignore the hard work that the English voice actors and actresses did they did just as much work as the original Japanese ones did and yet we're treating it like it's less
achara is right (sorry if i spelled her name wrong) the guy was a sith who went to kill other sith. everyone thinks red is totally evil but the whole thing is about balance.
Hypocrite! Also, why must we bring up the language choices? I am so tired of that debate, it’s stupid and pointless. It’s all down to personal preference, let’s leave it at that. I watch both, because I CAN!
I think Star Wars Visions is Disney and Lucasfilm getting very desperate. They are looking for anything new that they can make money on but they don't want to give up on SJW politics, so they are flinging everything at us to see what sticks
They are making a graphic novel about this main character guy! Can’t wait
That’s amazing, anthology I’ve seen don’t really do more than a one off, so the fact they’re making more from this is Fantastic
Disney milking the cow already?? Wow!
@@davidcabreonmunoz6258 It'S cAnOn NoW
Not a graphic novel. It's a novel.
Would love to read it!!

There’ll be a Star Wars novel about this episode! Can’t wait.
English dub had Lucy Liu as the bandit leader

Ronin is actually a sith hunter he is Not a Jedi nor he is a sith

some episodes have better english dubs than subs though, like 'the village bride'

I can't believe its the same jaby i knew before who said "always see the positive side"
1, 3, 5, and 8 were my favorites.
This episode was freaking beautiful.

Favorite episode, this a story I want to see more of
Not sure if you noticed but she did manage to injure his right hand!
My man out here collecting kyber crystals like they're pokemon gym badges
When thor says party prince is
I noticed a Man who looked similar to jaby
Jaby Variant 😱😱😱😱💯😻😻😻😻
9:42 Opening her present this Christmas.
I got goosebumps when he pulled out the red lightsaber! Freakin amazing

Nowhere does it say he’s a “Grey Jedi”
@@JoshieboyStudios Calm down SW fanboy. Don't get your panties in a bunch.
I really want to know his backstory... Really interesting character.
This looks amazing man!!!! I would prefer this to be canon than the Star Wars sequel movies 💪
Real ones watch the Japanese and English dub back to back
I think this series is inspired by the Seven Samurai from which Lucas was originally inspired in terms of samurai themes and Taoism)
thanks for the reference jaby. really looking forward to watch hidden fortress.
Fantastic episode !

Finally..youtubers that are watching it subbed. English speaking ronin is weird af

That's what I thought. Surprised these guys didn't get that
Ronin = Gray Jedi I suspect as well
If I'm not mistaken, the ronin's lightsaber is broken and he can't turn it off, so instead he made a scabbard using the lightsabers of other Sith
There is going to be so many different lightsabers coming out now with blades from cos players
Very afro samurai like
Lightsaber battle on water (instead of lava?)
Please react to what if episode 7

Fun fact: Jedi comes from the Japanese “Jidai.”

You guys robbed yourself of some top notch Lucy Lui voice acting.

Asaaj Ventress
I really do think he is a former sith lord or sith knight cause he is just called ronin in this short. not good not evil the perfect anti hero
Breeeaaaakkkkddddooowwwwnnnn
I often watch in Japanese. But for the sake of a reaction video it’s probably better to use the dub, for the sake of the audience.
Damn. I'm getting Yojimbo vibes
drop the link for that amazing t-shirt ❤️
❤
General Grievous was not a Sith Lord.
Interesting 🤔

You’re trashing english dub when they frickin got LUCY LIU?!?

It's really great...... but idk maybe it's jst me but I am really not getting that anime vibe
